    This video was supposed to come out yesterday, but as many of you know big news broke out haha! Glad to have finally checked this line off of the list! Been too long since I dedicated a day like this to a shortline!

      Sorry to see KCS be absorbed. Especially by someone outside the US. Ole Warren must needed some pocket change? Chrysler same thing. What a shame.

    The Fact that a B30-7AB still exists in BN paint in 2021 is amazing

      Really is. It was down for a while with mechanical issues. Glad it's back in service.

    Definitely a really amazing look into this historic railroad and line. It sure is really cool to see those old units still in action. Those old fire breathing -7s are so cool especially that BN B unit. Don’t see stuff like that anymore so great coverage of operations!

    That BN B30-7A should go to a museum!

    The former BNSF unit was cabless. I guess a road slug is what you'd call them. That's really neat and something I don't think I've seen on a shortline railroad before. I would think that it's very rare anyway. I really like shortline railroads because of all the neat unexpected things you see like that road slug, the different colored locomotives, and the older locomotives they use that include a large variety of different types. Another thing that makes shortlines my favorite railroading over class ones the variety of freight cars you see. Class ones all you see is the same locomotive types and same type of freight car. Container train with all well cars or automobile train with all car haulers. Good video. Stay well. -Wil 👍

      The P&W was the only line using B units still before G&W bought them. I agree with you on shortlines. With Class 1s becoming monotonous, shortlines still make things interesting. Thanks for watching!

    I’ve seen b units like that driving through Houston and port of Houston area and the yards there, if you want unlimited action in any type of setting I guarantee you if you go to port of Houston you will see nearly every scheme and railway of the past 30-40 years down there. And every road there’s tracks there’s usually switching jobs on plants, locals, or several long freights waiting to be allowed into the several large yards down there or into a plant or intermodel facility

    at 0:42 you called it a Class 3 railway. what does that mean? is it a less important railway and are there other higher and lower classes?

    • @LouisianaRailProductions
      @LouisianaRailProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A railway's class is determined by its annual revenue. Class 1s such as UP or NS make the most money, then the next level Class 2 like MRL are the next criteria, then you have shortlines that make the least money as Class 3. Forget the exact amount that determines a class. You can look it up.

      As a lifelong KCS fan, it is very disappointing. In contrast though, I think this has the potential to be a very successful endeavor. One continuous route from Canada to Mexico is such a historic moment for Railroading. I'm looking forward with great interest. Though, I'll greatly miss KCS.

      @@LouisianaRailProductions my concern is the speedway. With the concentration being north/south, I'm thinking they may sell off the rails from Shreveport to Meridian and to Artesia.

    • @LouisianaRailProductions
