We have had nothing but comebacks from the Napa variation of those Ball Joints. They wear out very quick. We are buying them from Chrysler now. Wish there was a better option. big $$$ from dealer.
Saved me bro! Going to get in touch with my snap on guy ASAP. I have the big ball joint kit but not that slick little adapter. We have 9 5500 ram service trucks and I've done two sets the hard way. Not anymore. Big thanks!
How do you position the press so that you can push the ball joint in? I have the adapter but the angle is still wrong! I can’t put the press through the upper ball joint hole in the axle so the clamp sits at a weird position and I’m worried if I try to get it started it will go in sideways lols
Thanks for the video I’m a diesel tech at a dodge dealer (moved recently to a dealer that has proper equipment for the 4500-5500 trucks). I already have the bjp1 and was wondering how this tool would work and make life easier, thank you for explaining it - your video should be on the snap on website hint hint nudge nudge send an email?
Ps not sure why the price on this is as high as it is, a lot of the other adapters are like $50-80. Oh well I guess to make the big money need big tools LOL
do you have a video using the bjp1 to install the ball joint? Im trying to use it and the upper mount is in the way to get it flush... how did you do it?? thanks
I was wondering how you got that truck in the air with a 2 post lift and the utility body, but then I see just front up. I would love to have a 4 post portable lift for such trucks. Thanks for tip. 👍👍
I’m not sure what the current weight of this truck is so we didn’t risk lifting it even though it a 12k lift. The hardest part is getting the lift arms into a position that would actually lift from center mass. I wish I had the room to store a set of those portable jacks.
Saved my ass!! I was really questioning my skills as a mechanic trying to put these back in 😂
lol, thats where I was, wats even worse, shop owner had already bought that adapter and kept it somewhere else lol
Just bought it last week . It’s a life saver. Saves your hands and saves time.
Dude thats one good snap on dealer!
Also mopar sells a kit for this job part number 9859a
Can't beat the Snap-On BJ Press kit, thanks for sharing this Chad, love me some straight axel work!
Hope you guys are doing well!
