- Today I visit the famous gravesites of cast members from the 1970s TV show RHODA starring Valerie Harper and David Groh.

I visit the gravesites of actors Valerie Harper and David Groh, in Hollywood, California. And I remember the other cast members: Nancy Walker, Harold Gould, Lorenzo Music, Ron Silver, Kenneth McMillan and Ray Buktenica and Julie Kavner who are still living.

I watched this series religiously...I miss everyone of them...,RIP Cloris Leachman

I loved everyone on Rhoda, but my favorite is Carlton. I loved his voice: “Hello, this is Carlton, your Doorman.” He was just so deadpan.

Lorenzo Music voiced a lot of cartoons. Peter Venkman on Ghostbusters and Garfield.
Carlton was always very funny! He's in a kind of character yet we never saw him...
Didn't find him amusing or funny. He was terrible as the voice.of grumpy cat,Garfield. Someone with a big booming voice was needed for the obnoxious Garfield.
Carleton never seemed to get emotional but was always deadpanned from what little I remember?
When I was 19 my friends thought I looked like Valerie and I took it as a great compliment!
I really liked the Rhoda show ... I was also a very dedicated watcher of the Mary Tyler Moore show. And Cloris Leachman just passed away. The impatience that Rhoda showed toward Carlton the doorman was classic !
I don't usually feel a personal connection to celebrities. But I felt a genuine loss when she passed.

Certainly a huge part of television history! It's amazing to see what show came from where. A lot of awards came out of these shows!
I’m sure you were too young to watch it, but it really is a classic!
I remember watching the show with my mom and grandmother. The both worked for the school so they were off in the summer and I remember watching it with them on rainy days in the summer. I remember watching the wedding episode.

She chose her own spot a few years before she died. I heard her talking about it on TV once. That’s how I knew where she was the day after she was buried.

Another fantastic cemumentary, Steve. I read that during the first season of Mary Tyler Moore Valerie Harper was paid just $700 per episode.
I sure hope they all got residuals. I’ve heard that sometimes back in the day they didn’t ☹️
I love your trips to different cemeteries to see where the famous are buried. Yes I watched Rhoda & remember her running through streets of New York to get to her wedding!!

The Mary Tyler Moore show had so many spin offs and so many of the actors were successful on their own. On "Rhoda", Julie Kavner was fantastic. She was the main reason I watched the show. Thanks for the video!

Friday morning having coffee and watching my favorite vlogger. Rhoda was one of my favorites as well. The wedding was definitely the episode everyone watched. I did like the doorman. Hope your family is well. How is your Mom? You sound a little congested. Are you okay? Please stay safe. Your weekly vlogs are very important to your fans.
I’ve had horrible allergies my entire life, but they seem to get worse each year. This has been my worst year so far. That’s why my eyes are always so red and I always sound so congested. Especially during the winter. November and December are my worst months for some reason ☹️ thanks Norma and I hope you are doing well too 😊👍
I lived in Minneapolis in the early 80s and my first apartment was a block from the Mary Tyler Moore house. So many people knocked on their door asking for Mary that they remodeled the house. Thanks Steve!

I always liked that show. "Brenda" could've had her own show, as well, I think. She was quite a character! Recent RIP to Cloris Leachman, also. I remember her as "Phyllis Lyndstrom." All great characters in those days. Fantastic video, as always!

Steve - Thank you for this video. Rhoda and MTM were staple viewing growing up. I always wondered if Lorenzo Music was " on camera" in anything I might have seen. Great "Rhoda" video. Yes, what a fun show. As you mention the "wedding" episode, ironic of Cloris Leachman's recent passing. Her "Phyliss" played an intricate part in that very episode. Julie Kavner shuns the spotlight and never does interviews & such. Thanks Steve!

Hi Steve: You asked for a favorite "Rhoda" episode, mine is "Parents Day". This is from season 1 and it's a crack up. But I have to say, I still watch Rhoda get married from time to time online. I was a kid when Rhoda's wedding was broadcast but will confirm..it was a big event back then. Everyone was watching it I'm sure... my family was. I watched Rhoda every week. I enjoyed the dynamic the cast had. In addition to Marge Simpson, Julie Kavner also voices Patty and Selma. She's all three Bouvier sisters. Harold Gould is one of those actors I've seen in so many different things, I can't count them all. I do remember that he was the original Howard Cunningham. It was Love and the Happy Days from Love, American Style, the precursor to the TV show.

I loved the show "Rhoda"! Valerie does have a wonderful and peaceful spot there! The TH-cam channel Hollywood Graveyard recently did a tour at Hollywood Forever and showed Valerie's gravesite. They recently drained and cleaned that lake and it looks so beautiful now! Hope you will do a "revisit" there again...it looks so amazing!!!

I can remember watching the wedding episode when it originally aired. A very big event, indeed!
Though she was quite a few years older than me, I had a huge crush on her, and unfortunately was unable to see most of her episodes as Rhoda due to military obligations overseas. What a bomb shell she was.

As I watch your videos the Biblical verse in Ecclesiastes 7:3 comes to mind. "Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties, after all, everyone dies so the living should take this to heart." NLV It makes one realise how short life is & we need to live with kindness, mercy and love towards others. Thanks Steve.
