Ahh I also frogged and redid the bottom ribbing on my Pi cami for the same reason! So that also made me worried about the neckline, but I just kept trying it on after almost every row I added to the neck to make sure it would hit correctly and be the perfect amount of fabric. I also did my Italian bind off pretty tightly around the neck and that seemed to help.
pulling a lifeline through the hole in the cable is such a hack!! also that jenny jacket is looking so good so far, the colour you chose really allows the smocking pattern to standout!!
that is a super cute modification for the Audrey top , and one that would suit your personal style for what you shows us here ! I am so sorry you are having such a hard time with the honeycomb vest, we all have had one of those projects that just doesn´t go to plan, but on the positive side it looks like it really has challenged you to think out of the box and somehow you will feel super confident modifying and spotting patterns that better suit you in the future. PS: I was today year's old when I found out that the wee hole in the needles can serve for lifelines 😳
Yes it has challenged me for the better but I might have to take a break from brioche after! 😅😂 and the lifeline trick I’ve already used a few times since! It’s so helpful
WHAAAAAAT I assumed the hole was just for me to tighten my interchangeable needles with the little "key" that comes with the kit. You just blew my mind, I can't wait to try this trick haha! I also recently frogged a WIP (I was up to the sleeves, but ran out of yarn, had a ball with a different dye lot, but I started it 2 year ago and just don't know if I didn't buy enough yarn or lost track of it since I started. It was the Ozetta Seasons cardigan which I LOVE the style of, but the half fisherman's rib was just really getting me down. Ended up frogging because I love the yarn, that sunk cost fallacy is for real *sigh*)
I originally thought it was just for that too! Ah that’s sucks to hear especially since you still love the style 🥲 I hope you are able to knit it again one day
Didn't know what that hole on my needles was for! Will def use that trick now. You can also thread something through the hem of your alice top to keep it straight.
I actually have a similar problem as you with your Esther jacket. I'm almost done with my Pi Camisole, only bottom ribbig left. And I love how it looks, but I used merino/cashmere blend with a thin strand of silk, and I just realised that it will be too warm for the summer :D :D And I don't see me wearing this kind of top in winter. So it is now a UFO under my bed and waiting for decision to be made ;) But I'm getting there.
I used KFO merino for mine and I had the same concerns but it’s still pretty comfortable in humid weather! I think because the finished fabric is so thin
Couple of tips for your curling edge: For one, have you tried it on? Sometimes edges curl when they aren’t being worn but won’t when you are wearing them I also think blocking will probably mostly fix it But if not, you can go back after the edging is done and add a whipstitch to the back of the edging, down to a row or two below the edging in the stockinette. Might help it stay flatter!
I sew and make bags which means I have super heavy duty thread, text 45 and up. I like to use it for adding to that hole in the cable to add lifelines throughout my projects. I have cones of many different colors and just wound some extra bobbins with them and put with my knitting. Works fantastic. I can take them all out when I'm done if I didn't need them, hopefully 😁
I agree about woolandbeyond’s designs. I purchased the shell shirt design and the stitch count was off from the beginning (I frogged and reworked 3 times and it was still wrong). Reached out to the designer about it and never heard back 😭 I decided to ignore the off count and kept going and it’s a lovely design but the lack of response and support about her designs makes me hesitate purchasing more..
Hi Rebecca. The peacock/pico edge is soooo beautiful! I think it was a good idea to add it. I think you said you will leave a link to the tutorial but I don't see it... Also, how do you do the purl cast off at 21:28? You just purl the knits as you are binding off? thank you so much!
I have knit a lot of wool and beyonds designs (ttthin set, my honey vest, beyond bag, speedy scrap socks and beyond basic sweatshirt) and I really like her patterns and find them really easy to follow even if the knitting itself is advanced (I havent knitted that long). I also find her videos really helpful and the final garments look SO good! BUT I do own the patterns in swedish and maybe there is a diffrens and some things getting lost in translation?
Ah that’s interesting! It could also be that I’m not used to her pattern writing style and the vest is a more involved design! I usually don’t mind when a pattern is more simple but for some reason I’m not following this one 😂🥲
@@hipknithooray You could try a low temperature? or maybe steam, then press? ideally, I think the iron would allow you press down and create a flat seam.
I was thinking of it actually! But I’m looking for a high neck/crew neck cabled cardigan - it’s stuck in my head and now I can’t imagine anything else haha
If it' s not an issue, can you tell us what kind of two-stitch bind-off you used for the Audrey top? I don't think it's i-cord edge and it looks really neat. I could use it for the top I am knitting. Thanks!
Enjoyed the video. Good to see what everybody is working on. 😊😊

I just had the same reaction

I’ve done a folded edge like that a few times and it always flips down at first but fixes itself with blocking 😊 I’m sure it will be fine!

The tip with the needle hole… 😮 thanks a lot!
I really like the Cumulus Blouse you're wearing and your Honey Vest. 🧶
Thank you!! I am actually about to cast on a third cumulus tee haha

I can only dream about 1*1 non-twisted ribbing that neat 😱

I wonder if you can iron the picot edge to make it more flat if blocking doesn't work out. I love that mod though! It's so cute!
Ahh that’s a good idea - thank you! I could try steam blocking it as I worry the iron might be too intense with the acrylic content
@@hipknithooray You could try a low temperature? or maybe steam, then press? ideally, I think the iron would allow you press down and create a flat seam.
I thinking about knitting the Book Club Cardigan. Maybe you would love this Cardi too?!
I was thinking of it actually! But I’m looking for a high neck/crew neck cabled cardigan - it’s stuck in my head and now I can’t imagine anything else haha
@@hipknithooray the Billie Cardigan has a higher neck, but I love the cables in the Book Club Cardigan more…

The two stitch border is just stockinette but kinda looks like an icord! And I bound off in purl stitch for the back 😊
The jenny jacket… I also was so intimidated by that stitch. 😅
It turns out that knitting so not THAT difficult. 😅
Wait what i never knew that. Is there a video about that trick?
Which pattern are you wearing ? I love the fit on you
Ah I forgot to add to the description box! It’s the cumulus tee ☺️
❤
Unfortunately I have similar issues with pattern itself while knitting shell tee from wool and beyond
Noo 😭 thanks for sharing! I hope you were able to work it out
