The Pi camisole is lovely! I can see how it's a great staple piece for the summer. The Tonight Top by Lily Kate France is a nice mock neck sleeveless top. Full disclosure I have not made it yet! But it looks great and very customizable.
As a newer knitter, it is so helpful to hear how you think about yarns and patterns and how they work for you. It helps me to be more discerning (when I want to buy every beautiful yarn and interesting pattern). So, thank you! ❤
I would say check out the Tolsta Tank because it has a lot of neckline options that are higher. I like when makers reflect on their makes to look make better choices moving forward so I appreciate you doing this!
Always amazed at how you can do these podcasts in one take and not repeat yourself or fumble your words! Also for someone who's not into v-necks, I love boatneck or straight(?) neckline across for my garments. Crew necks are classic but sometimes, they can feel stuffy or not 'unique' enough. With that, I can recommend Thelma by Erika Knight for your keyhole top! I haven't tried it but it's been in my favorite for a little while.
Really loved the Lirio top from my knitted closet. Did it in drops belle (cotton linen blend) and I love the high neck + drape. Did it this summer and already wear it a lot!
Tori Yu currently has a City Top/Dress in testing that might be up your alley! It's fingering weight, high neckline, strappy, negative ease. I just finished the Weekday Tee by Aimee Sher using a cotton/alpaca fingering weight yarn by Purl Soho called Sweetgrass and they're all neutral (I believe undyed too). I think I wouldn't use it for a negative ease garment because I'm not sure of its ability to bounce back like wool does but I do love the drapey airy fabric which is why I used it for a garment with a little positive ease. That being said, since I just finished, I can't tell you how it wears yet! I knit the main fabric on US3/3.25mm. Thanks for sharing Rebecca! I enjoy your reflection/analysis of your process, wear, yarn choices. Thank you!~Stephanie
I'm making the Cumulus top now and can't wait to finish. The Pi camisole has been in my Ravelry favorites and after seeing yours, it has moved to the top of the list-yours is beautiful.
I love my Pi Camisole out of KfO Cotton Merino. It is definitely one of my favorite knits and i realise i like the finer gauge as well. It is all my heavier summer knits that have languished and looked less polished and not worn. I knit the Cumulus Tee out of KfO Pure Silk and although it was a slog of a knit, I love the FO and could totally see myself making another one, now it has been a while since i finished my last one. I'd definitely make the Pi camisole again also - a fun knit as well. Your Pi and Cumulus look beautiful. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me to make them again. :)
Thanks, Rebecca! It's great to see you gaining clarity on what projects you want to take on in the future and what your priorities are with summer knitted garments. I also figured out that I strongly prefer fingering and sport-weight garments during the summer (and most of the year because I live in Southern California!). My favorite yarns are the KFO pure silk, the Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton Fine, and I love some of the hand-dyed summer yarn bases that brands like Sunday Fibre Co, Pasley Knits, and Cosy Posy fibers are putting out this year!
I really enjoyed listening to your reflections on yarns, patterns and wearability, thank you! I am knitting Sari Nordland’s Sunset camisole in a pure linen, but not the one she used. I’m enjoying the process and don’t find the linen hard on my hands. Happy travels to you!
Rebecca, I really enjoyed your summer top episode! I've been testing quite a few summer patterns over the last couple of months & one in particular that i think you'd like. The Sunrise top by Elina Maaria is a beautiful tank top with a really interesting technique for the neckline. I've tested for her before & she has a way of explaining advanced techniques in a very simple & approachable way. I made my tank top in a cotton gradient, which turned out very well.
Totally relate on the summer knits. I have made quite a lot but very few have actually worked out. The cumulus is also one of the only tops I’ve made where I am actually working up another. It’s the perfect fit and weight and works nice as a transition piece. We’ll be matching as I am also making my 2nd in putty! Curious what your thoughts will be on the onling yarn. They are also high on my list to try
I love Illimani sabri! I've knit two summer tops in it although I will say I do find it to be a bit warm, so I tend to wear them more as spring/fall garments haha
I haven't tried it yet as I'm deciding which one - but for one-shoulder knits, there is the "seeyouinparistop" (Ann Kathrin) and the "lost one shoulder" (friday knits)
I am currently knitting the twist loop top by other loops which is super fun! I also have plans for a papyrus top by ullen knitwear, which is a mockneck sleeveless top. Word of warning about the KfO silk: it's a gorgeous yarn but stretches a lot with wear so don't use it for anything form-fitting!
Great video, Rebecca. Always nice to determine exactly what one likes and not likes about one’s finished garments. Thanks for reminding me that Petite Knit released an O-neck version of her Cumulus Tee pattern; I, too, do not prefer v-neck tops. As for summer-weight yarns, I am loving Lion Brand Coboo - not a fingering weight, though. I’ve also been alerted to Rowan cotton cashmere, which intrigues me. Just a note: the Sandes Garn linen blend yarn is pronounced LEE-neh
Milena Paulina is currently in the process of “cooking” a new pattern with the keyhole neckline. She is planning to start testing soon and this top will be with a bit bigger gauge, so it should be pretty quick to knit 😻
You may like a couple of Le Pull's top patterns. I think she has one 1-shoulder design called the Nina Top that is also asymmetrical and there is also the Party Top. :)
Sorryyyy, but that’s aaaalmost correct. It’s Lee-neh. So just an e, not a. Hope as a Norwegian you believe me🥹🥹🥹 not that it’s a problem with pronouncing foreign words wrong🥲🥲🥲 it’s totally understandable🕺🏽🕺🏽
Hey Rebecca! I really enjoy watching your videos, but unfortunately the audio is always a bit flat and quiet. Would you maybe consider to get a microphone? Hope this doesn't come across as rude!
I loved your Pi camisole so much I bought the pattern even though I’m not a confident knitter and some people rate it as,pretty difficult. The instructions seem pretty clearly written though, except for one thing. The first and last stitches of the rows are edge stitches but I don’t see where it states what the edge stitches consist of! I assume it’s garter. Would you kindly confirm this for me? The designer hadn’t replied to either of my emails. Thanks for the video, inspiration, and musings.
Thank you for a nice episode! You inspired me to knit the Pincamisole. And hello from Norway!

Love all your tops. I’m definitely going to add the cumulus tee to my list.

Just searched it up and wow so stunning! Definitely up my alley with that neckline 😍😍 thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for letting me know!! My spring and fall seasons are pretty long in Toronto so maybe it will still be wearable for a decent amount of the year
Illimani Sabri is SOOOO nice to work with, it's a staple at my local yarn store and it's super soft and drapey 💖💖
So happy to see this video after your flops!!!!
You might like the upwards top by Lily Kate makes! It has a teardrop at the back not from but it’s quite cute!
Ooo I haven’t heard of that too before - I’ll have to check it out! Thank you 😊

Love these tops, Zaneteknits has a lovely sleeveless top with a keyhole in the front

Ah thanks for the tip about KFO silk! I’ll definitely keep that in mind ☺️

Ahh I’ve never worked with coboo before! And thanks for telling me the correct way to say line - much appreciated! ☺️
Thanks for a great episode with good reflections ☀️
Thanks so much for this video. I really appreciate your sincerity ❤

Yesss!! I saw that this morning 🤩🤩 really looking forward to whenever it is released
The first tee from hives knoys maybe something for you
Brightbay T-Shirt by Ashley Lillis is a nice one to knit up!
Thanks for the suggestion!! ☺️☺️
Im knitting the Caspar top by Kolibri and it's quite fun, looks like it can be done with other yarns than Mohair for example Tynn Line [Leena]
Oh I love the Caspar Top! And thanks for adding the correct pronunciation for Line! 😅
Great episode
Your pi camisole is stunning.
You may like a couple of Le Pull's top patterns. I think she has one 1-shoulder design called the Nina Top that is also asymmetrical and there is also the Party Top. :)
Oh yes! The Nina Top ll is also up there on my to knit list 😍😍
The new Jessie made rolled neck tank!
Ah yess that one is stunning!! I love the rolled edges
I love my adira by truly myrtle
Beware adding to your short sleeved Cumulus - even a few wears will cause some colour changes that may show!
Line is pronounced Lee-nah
Sorryyyy, but that’s aaaalmost correct. It’s Lee-neh. So just an e, not a. Hope as a Norwegian you believe me🥹🥹🥹 not that it’s a problem with pronouncing foreign words wrong🥲🥲🥲 it’s totally understandable🕺🏽🕺🏽
Thank you both! Very helpful and now I know ☺️
Hey Rebecca! I really enjoy watching your videos, but unfortunately the audio is always a bit flat and quiet. Would you maybe consider to get a microphone? Hope this doesn't come across as rude!
Not rude at all the way you said it and thanks for the feedback! I’ll look into getting a microphone ☺️
I really like your Pi Camisole and Cumulus Blouses. 🧶
Thank you!! I will soon have two of each 😉 they’re so timeless
