Those are some nice ass BMX bikes you’ve got buddy 👊🏾 I owned a GT Performer back in the day, my favorite old school was my Hutch Pro Raider fast forward to 2024 I’m 51 yr old and currently riding street on a Subrosa frame 🤘🏾 long live BMX !!!
Just jaw dropping amazing… ✨✨✨ Not sure what could be said that hasn’t been already. And practically the same as what I’ve seen posted from Ernie. Immaculate stuff!
Man some kids stole my GT Performer out of my shed back in 88. I raced that bike and it was the Maui blue. I mowed a lot of lawns for that bike which I think cost 360$ back then. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful collection.
I had my 97 GT Performer stolen. Cost $500. Had the most expensive bike in town with the original frame stand pegs and front fold down pegs. I use to clean it every day. Crushed me when it got stolen. When I win lotto I will get another 1 one day.
Wow, that’s terrible. I’m sorry to hear that. You know, bmxmuseum.com is a great resource to find that same year bike again. And the 97’s are not too bad in price. It doesn’t hurt to browse the site to see what’s available..
@@bmxfreestylefanatic yeah I know the place. I check every now and then. When I get enough money one day I'll buy 1 but I will want it in pristine condition as it won't be used and I know it will cost a mint. It was my pride and joy and I rode everywhere on it and looked after it. I hope karma catches up with the lowlife
@@bmxfreestylefanatic yeah I didn't like it any colour except chrome. I polished the chrome every night with Mr Sheen. Still use the stuff today on any chrome I got. Just realised that was a long time ago as I was 16-17 and I'm turning 43 this year. Remember it like it was yesterday. I suppose being it a traumatic thing the brain either blocks it out or you seem to have a photographic memory of it lol.
Doing some rear brake work on the pink performer? The bike collection looks awesome. It’s not about how much it cost but how it makes you feel inside when you step back and admire what you have done.
We'll 10k i just invested in a couple of redlines makes me feel better about it compared to 60k deep 😂 love your bikes! I really think going forward our classic bmx bikes are going to worth alot more going forward.
@@bmxfreestylefanatic I'm 52 and couldn't afford one as a kid, so now I'm going to enjoy them in all of their glory. I bought a fully restored 1985 600c redline all chrome and a 1984 all white and red mx 2. Everytime I look at them I feel little kid again on Christmas morning.
Beautiful collection bro! I have 30k tied into my 4 bikes, not counting powder and polish. Not proud of it either and my 1 PFT which cost me 12kish to do cause some parts are NOS and some other minty survivor parts which adds up.
Sick sick sick! You’re sick in the head and I love it!! I agree about Ernie’s. I exclusively use him and couldn’t be happier. Any particular reason you went with the double flange on the black grips? Was that how the OGs were? Does the chromer provide restoring services? Did GT offer chrome stem, brakes, and pedals in 87? I’m really into catalog and production builds since those are what I would see on the showroom floor back in the day. I’m venturing into the custom builds but I don’t plan to go after OG parts for custom builds. I feel like having repop makes more sense. Both financially and conceptually 😂 Great vid, homie!
Yes, I’m a lot crazy these days.. lol. I actually ordered the double flange by mistake. But after receiving them, I actually like them. 👍 And my chrome guy only chromes. As far as restoring parts, I’d use Ernie’s for that. He’s really good at restoring. He can restore just about anything. And to my knowledge, GT did not offer any chrome stems or pedals in 87. Chrome was not popular in that era. And you really can’t go wrong with the catalog builds. There’s tons of reproduction parts available today to build a bad ass bike at 1/3 of the cost and I highly recommend it!
Cool bikes! I just built up a regular 87 gt performer frame I found on Facebook market place. It was just a bare frame no fork. I sourced mostly og parts and man it get expensive real quick. I did it on a budget, hopefully I find a deal on a pro performer frameset next to build
Beautiful collection. Although I prefer the GT race BMX, most likely since that's when I rode, and I had an '83 Pro. When BMX went to freestyle, i was skating.
I know this video is old, but where does everyone get these wheels? I'm new to restoring this bikes and want to build a black one with ukais but can't seem to find them anywhere. Not even repop

@@jbv6052 Yes, there are a few differences between the early 85/86 frames vs. the 87 frame. First, the 87s have the S curve double bend frame vs. the single bend frame on the earlier models.
