Alfredo, I just want to thank you for everything you're doing for BMX community! We need you now, more then ever! So, please never stop posting and stay as you are, 'coz you're the best!!! Take care mate and keep on riding! BMX4LIFE!
I’m 34 and have been a part of so many internet communities based on the myriad of different hobbies I have or have had. I rode bmx back in the very late 90’s and early 2000’s, but I had my Haro and that was that. Only rode for a few years before I got a car and motorcycle and forgot about my bmx bike so I never got fully into the scene… Long story short, I know what it usually takes to get into a new hobby/sport/corresponding community to become knowledgeable and proficient to where people then ask you questions and for help about the subject. It usually takes a few weeks of reading everything you can find, going through forum posts, and watching videos till you get to a point where you actually know some stuff. Anyways, your channel here is really a great thing because you teach so much in every video. Not all hobbies/communities have such a resource. Thanks for your time and effort to help educate us.
@nessie42786 Nooo it's hanging up with a few other bikes. Would like to have it restored for my daughter but not sure where to take it here in northern Illinois. It's in pretty good shape.
Show us how you center the tires on the magwheels. Mine always end up slightly off on skyway tuff II's, no matter how hard I try and massage the tire, using soapy water etc. When you spin the tire, you can see the wobble.
Try only pumping it up to the point that you can still move it around a little bit try to make the line around the tire, even as you can all the way around then pump it up the rest of the way. Do a lot of tricks and actually ride the bike. The tire will even itself out if it’s not pumped up too much.
That's a nice find. Was watching a TH-cam video last week about a guy who goes to abandoned towns? In one of the houses was a perfect looking 1984 ta Skyline. And all the guy took was some books.
Stoked to see what happens with that chrome gt. I like the budget build it's nice that it's clean and simple. I recently went hog wild on jewelry for my bike but that's just what I do.
Phu I love the videos as always. With this 80's throwback it makes me think about mongoose bringing back the fs1. Will you be getting any for the store and if you do can you please film the unboxing and assembly.
That is a 87 Dtour, 88 had different mags, different stem, slightly different seat and the standing platform didn't sit flush with the frame and was angled up slightly.
That might explain why I was confused. I think I had the 88 from your description. This one didn't look like my Detour, specifically the mags and seat.
Hey Phu! Your videos have really helped me as I try to get back into BMX. Do you happen to know if it's possible to convert an 1 1/8- 1 1/2 tapered head tube to a straight 1 1/8? I'm trying to make a fixed gear BMX out of a Airborne Cro Hawk 26 Dirt Jumper with shock forks, and am having trouble finding regular forks that fit the tapered head tube. I know you're busy, but any help you could provide would be rad as I want this build to be just right. Thanks!
That's actually a 87 because the framestand behind the seat post area has a downward slope but the 88 is angled upwards like a pro compe. Also the 88 brings a cable guides welded under the top tube and 1 more thing the 88's don't come with those 86-87 ogks, they come with those weird 6 spoked 1 year only mags. 87 also brings a metal cheesegrater sprocket and 88 brings the winged gt disc.

I had an 87 and thrashed it before selling it to a friend. My Dad worked hard to get it for my birthday. Kids have no concept of money.
Put stickers on it and I'll be so jealous.
We need more bmx scooter talk
I miss my Revcore XXL that got stolen when I was 15.
My favorite bmx page!! But do you think 230 pound rider too much weight for mags ? Asking for a friend lol

UK compes were sold with 6 spoke skyway tuffs

I have a set of older gt/dyno plastic rims and held onto them for who knows what as ill never used them again
What did you do with his Reflectors off his old wheels ?
