Not to moist just right It burns very well - Taste: I can taste a little Virginia, Vanilla, caramel and Cavendish - Notes: It's got a nice flavor and retains it through whole bowl. Not a bad aromatic. Very smooth.
:) :) :) :) :) My first five-star review. Right out of the gate, the smell of this tobacco was very, very pleasing to me. Each time I smoked it, no matter the circumstances or the pipe I used, it was just a pure joy. It was always an enjoyable experience. I actually got the vanilla notes in this one and though I normally don't go in for vanilla flavoring in anything, this was great. Definitely going to be one that I go back to and enjoy a lot.

😄😄😄😄 Chris its a great Aromatic with vanilla hints. Very pleasant and easy to get hooked on as a all day smoke. The flavor is very tasty. Has a great Room note that is always a favorite. A good starter tobacco but can give the mature smoker a good break from the everyday routine. You cant go wrong if your beginning in the wonderful world of pipe smoking!!!

🔶🔶🔶🔶🔶 Pipe smoker of 5 months. A superb aromatic with vanilla and caramel topping. Despite being moist to the touch, this blend caused absolutely no tongue bite, which impressed me. You get the natural sweetness of the Cavendish and the delectable flavour of the toppings. It reminds me of port wine in being the desserty treat of pipe tobacco. I'm surprised what Lane pulled off with this blend. The only blend I'll say I might enjoy more is HGL, which carries over that same Cavendish sweetness but with savoury Latakia and Burley.
😄😄😄😄 all aspects of this tobacco were very good to me. I was a newbie to pipe smoking and this was one of the few test tobaccos I ordered. Of the ten or so chosen. This one was the smoothest and most pleasant. Thank you.
😊😊😊😊 one of my favorites, but I've only been smoking for about 6 months. It's got a great tin note and a pleasant consistency. The smoke is nice and smooth and the flavor is very nice. Mild yet sweet with vanilla and chocolate notes. I also get a dark fruit note out of it but I could just be imagining. Overall a great blend for any level, and a good every day smoke.
😁😁😁😁 - This was my very first smoke, I found it to be mild and tasty. Hints of vanilla and clean earthy tobacco were very satisfying to my beginner palate. Burned well and cool in all of my pipes (cob/briar/meerschaum). Still use this blend in my rotation and I highly recommend it to any new pipe smoker looking to get a bit of flavor and a mellow smoke.
🙂🙂🙂 - Decent tobacco, fantastic smell. I personally like aromatics but this didn’t quite make the flavor cut for me, it’s just too mild. The smell, on the other hand is glorious. I smoke this blend around my non-smoker friends and they thoroughly enjoy the smoke. Happy piping!
🙂🙂🙂🙂 Great mild blend, I typically do half a bowl of something heavier like quiet nights or White Knight and then the top half with 1Q. Transitions very nice from mild to medium/full. I liked this soo much I bought more of it. It’s just a nice easy one that mixes well.

☺☺☺ Great starter tobacco for new smokers and for us old puffers looking for a mild sweet tooth fix. As an English lover I also prefer more of a kick...but you just cannot go wrong for with 1Q for a lightly sweet non bite blend.
😀😀 Very mild and pleasant. Room note by others around when I have smoked it stated it smelled very good. I can understand why many like it. It is very mellow and easy to smoke IMO. I can easily see where one would consider an all day smoke.
😋😋😋😋😋 It turns out that my local B&M has this lovely stuff under a different name. I tried it yesterday for the first time, and it is nothing short of delightful. The vanilla and honey notes were the most prevalent flavors, but I also tasted a bit of chocolate. It is definitely my new favorite tobacco, but I think I'll also try mixing it with my BCA just to see if I can improve on perfection.
=]=] My first blend ever (b&m renamed). Back then it was great, but like yourself, I prefer a bolder tobacco these days. Still a very reputable tobacco that I can enjoy as a throwback on occasion. I truly believe everyone should try it at least once. Thanks for the video Muttonchop.
😀😀😀 🙂 I’m a newbie. Just picked up a couple of pipes and a few baggies of pipe tobacco from my local tobacconist. I got 3 bags of some super value and the 1Q. I didn’t much care for the other but was the last one I tried just tonight and love it. Much better than the others. In fact, I was about to chuck it all and stick with my cigars, glad I tried this one. I have the Escudo Navy Delux and a few others coming tomorrow...can’t wait to try those now.
It’s funny that you mention brick and mortar stores rebranding this. I went to a tobacco shop in Norman, OK and they have a blend called “IQ 720”. I bought some and loved it, and thus went online trying to find it and came across Lane Ltd. 1Q
:) :) :) I also agree that it is a perfect starter blend. It is personally a favorite of mine that I use in my rotation when I am being indecisive of what I want to smoke. I do recommend it to anyone that is also not really a aromatic smoker as it is so mild. The cut is perfect and the aroma is not overpowering at all.
😀😀😀😀 Lane Limited 1Q is best served as an all day smoke, which is why my local brick-and-mortar calls it "All Day". I think it does exactly what it intends to, and it does it well. It's a light, but pleasant flavored smoke, so it's easy to smoke for a long time, and it has an excellent room note, so those around you enjoy and tolerate it being smoked for long periods of time. I have found this tobacco to be, in general, wetter and smokes better after some drying.
Funny that you mentioned that some B&M rename it sometimes. I use to buy from my local B&M a house blend called "The Entertainer ". One day I asked for the recipe and it was 3oz. of Lane 1-Q and 1oz. of RLP-6. once I learned what the recipe was I make my own. I really like 1-Q a lot. It's mild with a great vanilla taste. 👍👍👍👍
* * * I agree with Muttnchop on being on the mild side. I generally prefer strong English blends and straight Virginias or VaPers with minor Perique involvement. That said, I found a perfect application for 1Q in my rotation. I have tried a handful of aromatics so far and to me the vast majority taste like hot air, which was actually my first impression of 1Q. However, I drive 15 minutes to and from a train station every day and wanted to try a pipe in the car for my commute. I figured an aromatic would be a good blend to limit obnoxious odors in the car or on my clothes after the fact so I tried 1Q and a few other aromatics. I have to say this is the perfect application for me. First, if I crack the windows, it does not leave any lingering odor. Second, something about smoking it in the car allows me to taste the flavors as fully as I can. It may be because it's the first thing I'm tasting in the morning but either way I very much enjoy it for my commute. Also, I have found that a French inhale with this blend allows me to taste the flavors more fully.
😐😐😐 I would have given 2 and half but their isn't a half face emoji so I rounded up... it's a great starter blend with very little if any bite as long as you have a proper breathing technique and not pull long hard drags of it. Very mild flavors of vanilla and light hint of maple (the hint of maple could be ghosting in my pipe though). I like to add a bit of Lanes BCA for a bit more flavor. Enjoy and happy Choochen!
💨💨💨💨 I haven't specifically tried Lane 1Q because I can't find it near me, but research has told me Captain Black Royal is pretty much the same blend with a slight variation. It is delicious. I love the tin note, it smells like a brownie with vanilla and it makes me want to eat the tobacco haha. I've smoked this with a filter pipe and a corn cob, and both are fantastic ways to enjoy the blend. The smoke is so incredibly pleasant, it is becoming a favorite of mine. I taste milk chocolate and whipped cream. It is PERFECT with sweet tea. I plan on jarring up a few ounces to cellar and come back to it, as well as putting it in my rotation. Once I leave the crap state I live in, I plan on specifically finding Lane 1Q and comparing them for myself. I definitely recommend!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥 needs some drying time, but I like the light vanilla. I got this as a sample from a SUB over on my channel. I could see this as a morning blend with coffee since it is light and not harsh or high in nicotine. I agree, it would be great for new pipers, easy to figure out the flavors. I get some nutty notes too on the first couple lights.
😆😆😆😆 first aromatic blend I ever smoked. I luv it. Keep at least a pound sense I tried it two years ago. That and cult blood red moon are my go to aromatics

🙂🙂🙂🙂 Lane1Q- Wonderful lite aromatic! If your looking for a solid starter tobacco, I would recommend this. Lite subtle tobacco flavors with hints of vanilla and sweet caramel. I enjoy the virginias in this blend. Really looking forward to the Newminster 403 this month.
I also get raisin, honey, and definitely a little bit of chocolate but not much. It is one of the first tobaccos I smoked and got me hooked! I actually quit vaping and nicotine pouches and just pipe smoke now. So much more relaxing.
+++ The room note in this tobacco is excellent. I got nothing but compliments, but I do agree it is rather mild compared to some of the other blends I've tasted. It doesn't bite, burns clean, and I get consistent flavoring... About the flavoring, I tried Captain Blacks Royal before this because I was low on tobacco, and the closest tobacconist to me is an hour away. They sold CB royal at a discount tobacco store, so I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. I was even more surprised when I got 1Q in the mail and smoked it. The flavoring is identical. I later found out that CB is produced by Lane lt. It could be in my head, but it seems 1Q burns cleaner and the flavor is more consistent. I lose it after a few puffs of CB royal.
😀😀😀😀 This turned out to be a lot better than I thought. When I hear something is mild, I automatically think it's weak, and that I'll barely taste anything. Not so! The vanilla flavor is up front and has a very nice, non-overpowering presence. Definitely a great blend to smoke in public or for doing chores around the yard.

I have a B&M in my town that mixes 1Q (they call it Wildcat) with Latakia, Orientals and maybe a little Turkish; and they call it English Light, or now, English Brexit. It's one of my favorite blends. Rating 1Q: :) :) :) Rating Brexit: :) :) :) :) :)

:) :) :) I've been smoking this tobacco for several months now. Off and on, mind you. And I have learned to tolerate it. Lane 1-Q was one of the very first pipe tobaccos that I started smoking. And I bought a lot of it; impressed by the smell at the store. It does have a mild honey-sweetness, but I put much emphasis on the word mild. However, I have been told the room note is quite pleasant and that was a major selling point to me due to my circumstances at the time. I would say to give it a try to see if it is for you.
😁😁😁😁😁 Beginner here. Been working on some Q-1, Danish Cherry and Savinelli Janus. Q-1 ran out first so you can guess which was my favorite. I wonder if my preference will evolve with time but right now I just want a jar full of Q-1. I would really appreciate any suggestions for a stepping stone toward a stronger blend.
😊😊😊 I’m not an Aromatic fan, but I didn’t hate this one. Most of the aromatic tobaccos I’ve tried are to sticky sweet for my taste. This one is kind of nice. Nothing that I will smoke a lot of, but a nice change of pace.

😀😀😀😀 this is the year 2018 April, I'm very new to pipe smoking and Lanes Unlimited 1-Q was the third airmatic type tobacco that I smoke in a pipe. Only have one week of experience and pipe smoking So speaking as a very new rookie this in my opinion for my palate is very easy to smoke. I do get the smell of vanilla and I think there's a a hint of Raisin that I'm smelling also I do not smell the chocolate but I can taste it in the Smoke as well as tasting the vanilla I don't get any honey flavor or smell from the tobacco. In my opinion I recommend this to anyone who is just starting out as I am as a good starter with pipe smoking. This is the first review I have ever given for any tobacco at all I hope this helps anyone just getting started out.
Smoked some Lane 1Q out of a MM Corn Cob Pipe (with Filter), I get a little harshness out of the bowl that I don't get from smoother English blends that are stronger? But I do enjoy the aromatic flavors of vanilla & honey.

Just tried this for the first time tonight. Though quite pleasant, I am not sure I would make room in my rotation when Stokkebye Vanilla Cream is soooooooo good.
:):):):) Still restricting myself to 2 to 4 smilies since I've been smoking less than a year... just fyi... Truthfully one of the first tobaccos I ever tried and still one of my favorite. I spend every Sunday smoking this out of my favorite pipe. I get this in bulk and it is always very wet when I first receive it. I dry it quite a bit before storing it in a jar. After drying it lights great and stays lit without much effort. Very sweet, very vanilla with a hint of something else... maybe cocoa. Now that I'm beginning to get this whole pipe smoking thing I can taste just a bit of the virginia in the background. Tobacco flavoring itself is very light and over powered by the aromatic topping. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys aromatics.

😀😀😀😀 It is very good. It is a very mild smoke with a very pleasing room note. I personally like tobacco with a little more kick but this is a good after dinner smoke which I can substitute for dessert.
😌😌😌 I like the ribbon cut and it burns quite nicely. Very minimal re-lights., The smell is pleasant, the taste isn't too bad, and room note is nice. I agree with Muttnchop on this blend being too light. I've tried Cult Blood Red Moon and I seem to get a better "kick" from that aromatic. Nevertheless, 1-Q is still worth a try.

The repackaging of it makes sense. Despite it being made by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, I've not been able to find it anywhere in Denmark (One of the Scandinavian countries)

🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞 Hi, I rate it 5 ladybugs. Everyone loves ladybugs and I think that every new and many seasoned pipers will love 1Q. As for taste and strength and stuff, I agree it's a 🐞🐞🐞 - and that is why it is such a good tobacco. It's not too extreme. Another reason to rate it 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞 is that, although I explore many different blends of tobacco...I always keep a jar (ie one lbs) of 1Q on hand. It actually tastes more complex over time, to me anyways, that is, it's easier to taste the caramaliciousity. YMMV.

☺️☺️☺️☺️ I really enjoy this tobacco. The tin I got was a tiny bit moist. Needed about 30 minutes of drying time. The bulk I got was just right. Light well. Easy to keep lit. Taste is a tiny bit mild for my taste. Hence only 4 emojis. Room note is phenomenal. Just smells delightful in the room. My wife doesn't mind me smoking this one in the house at all. Maybe that's why I like it so much. But seriously, delicious smoke. You should try it.
👍👍👍👍 👍 let me explain the 5 rating. is it the best tobacco ever? maybe not, but that's subjective. it is consistently one of the most sold pipe tobacco in the world though, that has to count for something. as others have stated, it's a starter tobacco. mild, great tin and room notes. And for a lot of us it's those tin and room notes that drew us to giving pipe smoking a try. l mean I doubt nightcap is bringing new smokers in. So as an ambassador for the pipe smoking community Lanes 1Q is defiantly king. my wife and non smoker friends love the smell. the tobacco itself is mild, burns easy, and is a great all day smoke.

😂😂😂😂 I do get chocolate...i can see where you say honey...but otherwise...i never thought vanilla i always thought dark fruit or dark berries. But the reason i gave it a 4 is because its the first tobacco where what I smoked tasted exactly what i smelled in the tin. Never happened before. And again usualy...tin note...on the nose while smoking and on the palette are all very different usually...for me all senses in all forms have the exact same flavour and that blew me a way. Wish it were a little more bolder and a tad more complex. But still very yummy

:-) :-) :-) I (and more importantly...Mrs Darville) like the room note, the flavor is not too bad... but the main reason I always keep some of this around is that in my earliest piping days, having started with a cheap pear wood pipe, I decided to buy a "savinelli" to compare cheap with better pipes. Not realizing that pipes came in different sizes, I bought a Hercules... Lane 1Q is the only aromatic that I can get to burn properly in this pipe, regardless of cellaring, drying, you name it.

😋😋😋 it's like having a donut in the AM with your coffee. I smoke different tobaccos thru out the day. Aeros and burleys in the morning,Virginias in the afternoon and English/Balkans in the evening. Could not survive on any one blend all day. Couldn't eat pizza 3 times a day,so why smoke one blend all day,when there are o many great blends available. 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
:) :) :) :|Easy to "mess with" cut wise and dampness. Tastes mellow but flavorful, as an almost exclusively English smoker I still enjoy this and I have added it to my own custom blend jar.

🙂🙂🙂🙂 Great mild blend, I typically do half a bowl of something heavier like quiet nights or White Knight and then the top half with 1Q. Transitions very nice from mild to medium/full. I liked this soo much I bought more of it. It’s just a nice easy one that mixes well.

☺☺☺ Great starter tobacco for new smokers and for us old puffers looking for a mild sweet tooth fix. As an English lover I also prefer more of a kick...but you just cannot go wrong for with 1Q for a lightly sweet non bite blend.
😀😀 Very mild and pleasant. Room note by others around when I have smoked it stated it smelled very good. I can understand why many like it. It is very mellow and easy to smoke IMO.
I can easily see where one would consider an all day smoke.

It turns out that my local B&M has this lovely stuff under a different name. I tried it yesterday for the first time, and it is nothing short of delightful. The vanilla and honey notes were the most prevalent flavors, but I also tasted a bit of chocolate. It is definitely my new favorite tobacco, but I think I'll also try mixing it with my BCA just to see if I can improve on perfection.
=]=] My first blend ever (b&m renamed). Back then it was great, but like yourself, I prefer a bolder tobacco these days. Still a very reputable tobacco that I can enjoy as a throwback on occasion. I truly believe everyone should try it at least once. Thanks for the video Muttonchop.
😀😀😀 🙂 I’m a newbie. Just picked up a couple of pipes and a few baggies of pipe tobacco from my local tobacconist. I got 3 bags of some super value and the 1Q. I didn’t much care for the other but was the last one I tried just tonight and love it. Much better than the others. In fact, I was about to chuck it all and stick with my cigars, glad I tried this one. I have the Escudo Navy Delux and a few others coming tomorrow...can’t wait to try those now.
It’s funny that you mention brick and mortar stores rebranding this. I went to a tobacco shop in Norman, OK and they have a blend called “IQ 720”. I bought some and loved it, and thus went online trying to find it and came across Lane Ltd. 1Q
:) :) :) I also agree that it is a perfect starter blend. It is personally a favorite of mine that I use in my rotation when I am being indecisive of what I want to smoke. I do recommend it to anyone that is also not really a aromatic smoker as it is so mild. The cut is perfect and the aroma is not overpowering at all.

Lane Limited 1Q is best served as an all day smoke, which is why my local brick-and-mortar calls it "All Day". I think it does exactly what it intends to, and it does it well. It's a light, but pleasant flavored smoke, so it's easy to smoke for a long time, and it has an excellent room note, so those around you enjoy and tolerate it being smoked for long periods of time. I have found this tobacco to be, in general, wetter and smokes better after some drying.
Funny that you mentioned that some B&M rename it sometimes. I use to buy from my local B&M a house blend called "The Entertainer ". One day I asked for the recipe and it was 3oz. of Lane 1-Q and 1oz. of RLP-6. once I learned what the recipe was I make my own. I really like 1-Q a lot. It's mild with a great vanilla taste. 👍👍👍👍
* * * I agree with Muttnchop on being on the mild side. I generally prefer strong English blends and straight Virginias or VaPers with minor Perique involvement. That said, I found a perfect application for 1Q in my rotation. I have tried a handful of aromatics so far and to me the vast majority taste like hot air, which was actually my first impression of 1Q. However, I drive 15 minutes to and from a train station every day and wanted to try a pipe in the car for my commute. I figured an aromatic would be a good blend to limit obnoxious odors in the car or on my clothes after the fact so I tried 1Q and a few other aromatics. I have to say this is the perfect application for me. First, if I crack the windows, it does not leave any lingering odor. Second, something about smoking it in the car allows me to taste the flavors as fully as I can. It may be because it's the first thing I'm tasting in the morning but either way I very much enjoy it for my commute. Also, I have found that a French inhale with this blend allows me to taste the flavors more fully.

I would have given 2 and half but their isn't a half face emoji so I rounded up... it's a great starter blend with very little if any bite as long as you have a proper breathing technique and not pull long hard drags of it. Very mild flavors of vanilla and light hint of maple (the hint of maple could be ghosting in my pipe though). I like to add a bit of Lanes BCA for a bit more flavor. Enjoy and happy Choochen!

I haven't specifically tried Lane 1Q because I can't find it near me, but research has told me Captain Black Royal is pretty much the same blend with a slight variation. It is delicious. I love the tin note, it smells like a brownie with vanilla and it makes me want to eat the tobacco haha. I've smoked this with a filter pipe and a corn cob, and both are fantastic ways to enjoy the blend. The smoke is so incredibly pleasant, it is becoming a favorite of mine. I taste milk chocolate and whipped cream. It is PERFECT with sweet tea. I plan on jarring up a few ounces to cellar and come back to it, as well as putting it in my rotation. Once I leave the crap state I live in, I plan on specifically finding Lane 1Q and comparing them for myself. I definitely recommend!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥 needs some drying time, but I like the light vanilla. I got this as a sample from a SUB over on my channel. I could see this as a morning blend with coffee since it is light and not harsh or high in nicotine. I agree, it would be great for new pipers, easy to figure out the flavors. I get some nutty notes too on the first couple lights.

😀😀😀😀 Fantastic tin note. Moisture was about perfect, packed and lit easily. Very pleasant room note. A bit light but makes for a great all day smoke.

🙂🙂🙂🙂 Lane1Q- Wonderful lite aromatic! If your looking for a solid starter tobacco, I would recommend this. Lite subtle tobacco flavors with hints of vanilla and sweet caramel. I enjoy the virginias in this blend. Really looking forward to the Newminster 403 this month.
I also get raisin, honey, and definitely a little bit of chocolate but not much. It is one of the first tobaccos I smoked and got me hooked! I actually quit vaping and nicotine pouches and just pipe smoke now. So much more relaxing.

+++ The room note in this tobacco is excellent. I got nothing but compliments, but I do agree it is rather mild compared to some of the other blends I've tasted. It doesn't bite, burns clean, and I get consistent flavoring... About the flavoring, I tried Captain Blacks Royal before this because I was low on tobacco, and the closest tobacconist to me is an hour away. They sold CB royal at a discount tobacco store, so I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. I was even more surprised when I got 1Q in the mail and smoked it. The flavoring is identical. I later found out that CB is produced by Lane lt. It could be in my head, but it seems 1Q burns cleaner and the flavor is more consistent. I lose it after a few puffs of CB royal.

Tastes similar to how it smells, though toned down a bit. I smell chocolate as well as vanilla, and it is more pronounced in the taste.

This turned out to be a lot better than I thought. When I hear something is mild, I automatically think it's weak, and that I'll barely taste anything. Not so! The vanilla flavor is up front and has a very nice, non-overpowering presence. Definitely a great blend to smoke in public or for doing chores around the yard.

:) :) :) :) - smooth, velvety tobacco; slight vanilla flavor; once you get it going, smokes well; good all day smoke. Definitely something that I keep going back too. And as noted frequently, a good starter blend.
I have a B&M in my town that mixes 1Q (they call it Wildcat) with Latakia, Orientals and maybe a little Turkish; and they call it English Light, or now, English Brexit. It's one of my favorite blends. Rating 1Q: :) :) :) Rating Brexit: :) :) :) :) :)
That sounds delicious! I have some 1Q and some Arango Balkan Supreme, so I'm gonna mix those and see what happens. I have a feeling it's gonna be tasty.
:) :) :) I've been smoking this tobacco for several months now. Off and on, mind you. And I have learned to tolerate it. Lane 1-Q was one of the very first pipe tobaccos that I started smoking. And I bought a lot of it; impressed by the smell at the store. It does have a mild honey-sweetness, but I put much emphasis on the word mild. However, I have been told the room note is quite pleasant and that was a major selling point to me due to my circumstances at the time. I would say to give it a try to see if it is for you.

I wonder if my preference will evolve with time but right now I just want a jar full of Q-1. I would really appreciate any suggestions for a stepping stone toward a stronger blend.
😊😊😊 I’m not an Aromatic fan, but I didn’t hate this one. Most of the aromatic tobaccos I’ve tried are to sticky sweet for my taste. This one is kind of nice. Nothing that I will smoke a lot of, but a nice change of pace.

I agree with your review. The tin and room notes are lovely. It lacks in the flavor department for me. I will add that the smoker should be careful to not allow the tobacco to get too hot, because it then starts to taste like chemicals [to my palette]. Happy smokes.

:) :) :) :) : I give it a 4.5. Very mild and very nice taste/flavor/room note. I like the cut and moisture very much. As a noob I'm trying many different tobaccos. I keep coming back to this one. In my opinion, one of the best tobaccos for a new smoker. Be sure to rotate with other tobbaccos in order to appreciate the quality of this one.
This blend for me is interesting I find myself catching a nuttiness flavor with just a slight vanilla undertone the smoke has a lovely scent tho

😀😀😀😀 this is the year 2018 April, I'm very new to pipe smoking and Lanes Unlimited 1-Q was the third airmatic type tobacco that I smoke in a pipe. Only have one week of experience and pipe smoking So speaking as a very new rookie this in my opinion for my palate is very easy to smoke. I do get the smell of vanilla and I think there's a a hint of Raisin that I'm smelling also I do not smell the chocolate but I can taste it in the Smoke as well as tasting the vanilla I don't get any honey flavor or smell from the tobacco. In my opinion I recommend this to anyone who is just starting out as I am as a good starter with pipe smoking. This is the first review I have ever given for any tobacco at all I hope this helps anyone just getting started out.
You should review Solani Red Label... for me its a great all day smoke for an aromatic
Smoked some Lane 1Q out of a MM Corn Cob Pipe (with Filter), I get a little harshness out of the bowl that I don't get from smoother English blends that are stronger? But I do enjoy the aromatic flavors of vanilla & honey.

Truthfully one of the first tobaccos I ever tried and still one of my favorite. I spend every Sunday smoking this out of my favorite pipe.
I get this in bulk and it is always very wet when I first receive it. I dry it quite a bit before storing it in a jar. After drying it lights great and stays lit without much effort.
Very sweet, very vanilla with a hint of something else... maybe cocoa. Now that I'm beginning to get this whole pipe smoking thing I can taste just a bit of the virginia in the background. Tobacco flavoring itself is very light and over powered by the aromatic topping. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys aromatics.

It is very good. It is a very mild smoke with a very pleasing room note. I personally like tobacco with a little more kick but this is a good after dinner smoke which I can substitute for dessert.
As you said at around 1:45 yes; my B&M did this. They called it Grandpa’s Stash.
😌😌😌 I like the ribbon cut and it burns quite nicely. Very minimal re-lights., The smell is pleasant, the taste isn't too bad, and room note is nice. I agree with Muttnchop on this blend being too light. I've tried Cult Blood Red Moon and I seem to get a better "kick" from that aromatic. Nevertheless, 1-Q is still worth a try.
😊😊😊😊 Light, sweet vanilla followed by a pleasant room note, bulk sale 1-Q (along with RLP-6!) is in my daily rotation and also in my cellar. 1-Q is a good choice for lovers of light aromatics, and a keen blend for smoking in public.
The repackaging of it makes sense. Despite it being made by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, I've not been able to find it anywhere in Denmark (One of the Scandinavian countries)

🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞 Hi, I rate it 5 ladybugs. Everyone loves ladybugs and I think that every new and many seasoned pipers will love 1Q. As for taste and strength and stuff, I agree it's a 🐞🐞🐞 - and that is why it is such a good tobacco. It's not too extreme. Another reason to rate it 🐞🐞🐞🐞🐞 is that, although I explore many different blends of tobacco...I always keep a jar (ie one lbs) of 1Q on hand. It actually tastes more complex over time, to me anyways, that is, it's easier to taste the caramaliciousity. YMMV.

I really enjoy this tobacco. The tin I got was a tiny bit moist. Needed about 30 minutes of drying time. The bulk I got was just right.
Light well. Easy to keep lit. Taste is a tiny bit mild for my taste. Hence only 4 emojis. Room note is phenomenal. Just smells delightful in the room. My wife doesn't mind me smoking this one in the house at all. Maybe that's why I like it so much. But seriously, delicious smoke. You should try it.
👍👍👍👍 👍 let me explain the 5 rating. is it the best tobacco ever? maybe not, but that's subjective. it is consistently one of the most sold pipe tobacco in the world though, that has to count for something. as others have stated, it's a starter tobacco. mild, great tin and room notes. And for a lot of us it's those tin and room notes that drew us to giving pipe smoking a try. l mean I doubt nightcap is bringing new smokers in. So as an ambassador for the pipe smoking community Lanes 1Q is defiantly king. my wife and non smoker friends love the smell. the tobacco itself is mild, burns easy, and is a great all day smoke.

You are correct. I was disappointed in the chocolate smell/taste. I wanted the vanilla and honey.

I do get chocolate...i can see where you say honey...but otherwise...i never thought vanilla i always thought dark fruit or dark berries. But the reason i gave it a 4 is because its the first tobacco where what I smoked tasted exactly what i smelled in the tin. Never happened before. And again usualy...tin note...on the nose while smoking and on the palette are all very different usually...for me all senses in all forms have the exact same flavour and that blew me a way. Wish it were a little more bolder and a tad more complex. But still very yummy

I (and more importantly...Mrs Darville) like the room note, the flavor is not too bad... but the main reason I always keep some of this around is that in my earliest piping days, having started with a cheap pear wood pipe, I decided to buy a "savinelli" to compare cheap with better pipes. Not realizing that pipes came in different sizes, I bought a Hercules... Lane 1Q is the only aromatic that I can get to burn properly in this pipe, regardless of cellaring, drying, you name it.

😋😋😋 it's like having a donut in the AM with your coffee. I smoke different tobaccos thru out the day. Aeros and burleys in the morning,Virginias in the afternoon and English/Balkans in the evening. Could not survive on any one blend all day. Couldn't eat pizza 3 times a day,so why smoke one blend all day,when there are o many great blends available. 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
