I disagree with any point of them losing any moral ground. by bringing flight to Russia. Russia has been destroying their country forth pretty much three years and they have a situation where they're fighting with one hand behind their back because they only can do this or that and Russia is fighting with no restrict no restrictions no morals. And they are having all the advantage. If Ukraine is to have any chance of beating a nation 3 plus times larger than themselves with a second largest military in the world, they're going to have to use every advantage they can get.

This was I think a brilliant move by Ukraine. Of course there is risk, but Ukraine has the benefit of U.S. intelligence as well as their own intelligence. We can't exactly know what their full intentions are, but one goal would be to try to draw Russian troops off the front line in the east to ease the burden on the defending Ukrainian troops there. This incursion also gets the attention of the world and embarrasses Russia. It is also raises the morale of the Ukraine military and their people, while at the same time serves as psychological warfare against Putin. Didn't a Ukraine government official just meet with the Chinese? This could help persuade China to put more pressure on Putin. We don't know at this point whether Ukraine plans to try to hold this Russian territory and if so, for how long. Finally, Ukraine is operating within establish rules of warfare. They are not giving up the moral high ground by this action. They are making a statement that they reserve the right to defend themselves as they see fit, including by using their weaponry on Russian soil and if warranted by taking and holding Russian territory. For too long, there has been a double standard in favor of Russia. Ukraine is increasingly demonstrating that that will no longer be the case.

Because this (Times Radio) is an MI6 propaganda operation spoon feeding the population and he needs to keep a tight grip on the conversation. Ukraine is getting hammered and losing an entire generation of men. Remember it was the British who stepped in and destroyed peace talks very early on. So every life from that point forward is on the US and UK. This was all in the name of trying to establish an overbearing position at the negotiating table....seems to have thoroughly backfired.
Its pretty reasonable for any country to tell a security alliance like NATO to f%^k right off from placing long range munitions at or near its border not to mention the CIA forward posts or the biological research facilities. They did this patiently via diplomatic channels for nearly a DECADE before taking further action. You mess with a bull you end up getting the horns.
And no I dont have a lot of sympathy in general for the way Russia presents itself in the world but the same can be said for the US quite frankly. Its self evident to all rational minds around the world that the EU, UK and US cannot (or do not want to) find a peaceful solution to this situation. They have had ample opportunity to show leadership and we are in fact closer to a world war than to peace.

The correct word would be "counter attack".
We're also past the point of annoying Putin further,if we don't act,we would be overrun.

I find the question posed by the Times reporter bizzare.
To ask the Ukrainian reporter if Ukraine risks losing the moral highground due to this incursion of the border, and then asking if the Ukrainian people ‘approve’ of this step, tends suggest that he does not understand the situation. There is a war going on, for now 10 years or so.
For Ukraine it is a war of survival. If your enemy can lob bombs and other ordinance over the border with, as is suggested by the question, complete security, then Ukraine will certainly lose. What is the difference between launching missiles across the border and soldiers crossing the border?
econdly, when you are in a war, you don’t have opinion polls as to whether this or that tactical operation is good or bad.
You elect politicians to look after your country and they appoint generals to run the war.
Lastly I do wish commentators and reporters would show some circumspection when broaching events where there are so many unknowns.
Did reporters/commentators have interviews with french people five day after D-day?

“Is it your reality? How often do you hear explosions in Kyiv?” What a pointless question. Ukrainians worked hard to defend the city and later to push the enemy away from the city. Explosions are obviously more frequent in other areas. If you can leave work and not worry about one single thing, you have no right to make “points” like that

Quite silly to talk of Russian escalation. When everything you do is violent aggression, and an escalation, escalation has no extra meaning. When everything is special, what’s special? Russia has its excuses for everything it does. That does not mean that it has any moral justification for anything it does against the people of Ukraine. Ukraines mobile warfare is a welcome breakout from static warfare at a fixed front, and it offers the prospect of a free-ranging mobile army in Putin’s rear. This discussion needs an interview with some military insight.

The first invasion of Russian territory since 1941 is pretty debatable. China and Russia had border disputes that went into full on fighting in about 1969 in the area next to HeiLongJiang in China (ie on the Vladivostok side).
