A classic trope of Metroid is getting lost and running in circles. It doesn't try to aid you in your exploration beyond the providing of tools to access new areas. You can look up the solution, or spend 15 minutes to 2 hours exploring every untouched part of the map until you find a new route
I do admire the subtle humor in this game. The no-nonsense attitude she carries here is pretty amusing and funny at certain points. Especially when the monsters roar at her and she just charge blasts them in the mouth. XD
I finally beat this game and it was so exciting, every time I made it to a new boss I thought to myself I can never kill this boss, it amazing how easy the bosses get after fighting them over and over again and learn their patterns..One of the best games I ever played.

I finally beat the game. It was one of the best Metroid games I ever played. Some of the bosses were hard to beat. I had to keep starting over and over again which was annoying. But I finally beat the bosses and I beat the last boss. This game was fun to play, I really enjoyed it.
That's sad bro. I don't own a Switch, so I had to get creative. A friend of mine owns a Switch and I suggested him I would buy the game if he let me play it first. He gets to keep it afterwards.

Just got this game a couple of days ago, now I'm already facing Raven Beak. Reaching the end of this amazing game is DREADing. Scarier than sneaking around the corner to avoid EMMIs... Wish the game was longer.

@@eaa1338 Apparently this is a staple of the franchise. I'd assumed "hidden" entrances are somehow marked in-game; like some cracks in the wall or something. You could argue that the game's level flow / design pretty directly leads you to the point that made me stop and scratch my head; had I known it works like that before, it might not have been such a speed bump.
@@oosen42 I was kinda joking btw. An area should light up on your map if you missed a destructible in that area but you still have to search for the destructible though. And there is a power-up that let’s you see the destructibles in an area but you get it pretty late into the game.
@@eaa1338 So at this point I've rolled the end credits and I understand that it's just a staple of what Metroid is. If I'd played any other title in the franchise I'd have tried to shoot that wall ASAP. This part is very early though. I assume it was marked on the map ... but I didn't really know what "blinky area" meant by that point. (Obvs. it means: "Shoot every wall inside the marked area until blocks are revealed.") The game doesn't do a good job teaching a complete noob that all blocks COULD be destructible and that sometimes that's the only way forward. There's a scene before where you shoot destructible blocks but it's while an EMMI chases you and it's the only way forward so I only realized in hindsight that those blocks weren't clearly destructible.
@@oosen42 there are some stuff that makes it more noticeable. Some destructible blocks are brighter than others, some have a different pattern than other, some walls look really thin, there are some enemies that are climbing on top of a destructible or they are behind the blocks and much more. Tbh I like this style of finding secrets. The game gives you some details that can give you a hint on where to shoot destructibles without making it too obvious for the player.
Just finished my first playthrough with 100% items today, took 24 hours in game time and a couple months of off an on playing. Now in the same day I'm 2.5 hours into another run and I've already met Quite Robe, and killed the chozo boy that killed him, even used the Early Bombs sequence break on Kraid (which is super cathartic)
I'm at the boss 3:46:00. Only it's taken me a lot lot longer than that to get there! I've died 10x or more. I just don't have the reaction times anymore. Not that I was ever a really good gamer. Average at best. Damn I forgot how frustrating gaming could be. Dying over and over. Edit: finally figured out that if I relaxed and took my time it's actually nor that hard. But that's what made it so infuriating.
It is just nice to see Kraid again you know, it gets tiring just fighting Ridley over and over and over again, but with Kraid, every time you fight him it is a tense, frustrating, and fun fight
I'm enjoying the game with the help of your walkthrough. so thanks. somewhat related, I bought metroid for the SNES when it came out. loved it. of course super metroid was amazing as well. metroid was the reason I bought my switch 3yrs ago. expecting Prime 4 by now but was happy to get dread. anyway, as far as home consoles go do you know why the N64 didn't get a Metroid game? was there ever a plan in place? I try to imagine what an N64 version Samus would look like. I kind of picture a Turok type landscape with a Samus kind of built like wrestler from No Mercy.
It was an incredibly difficult job to translate 2d games to 3d. Certain series like Sonic was never able to do it well. Nintendo was able to do it with only two of their franchises in the 90s with Mario and Zelda. And honestly, only one of those was a good recreation. The other was very different. It wasnt until a brand new American studio (Retro) decided to try making Metroid in the first person, we finally got another good 3d adaptation of a classic Nintendo series.
90% of the fanbase already beat it day 1-2 its short but awesome. Cant believe people say they got stuck and didnt know where to go. Actually its the same for any metroid game, the games do a good job telling you where to go, seems like people with dementia are playing metroid and get stuck or something idk.

If you pay attention this is a mix of metroid fusion and zero mission on game boy advance which makes since on why its more 2d style like samus returns and its crazy how this is the newest metroid game they know zero mission and fusion are the best in the series and they are i have a gba emulator on my laptop and still play them till this day favorite games of all time i will be getting a switch asap to play this i may be older but my childhood is alive and well
Also what I loved about Metroid fusion was how SA X would start shooting at you when caught. If the emmi robots had guns it would make things more interesting
Having played the game, it's bad enough 2 can stun you, Dhooting would only make those sections worse, not better IMO. Being chased rather than shot at is much more terrifying yet still approachable, even with only 10 health I can still try to run threw, but if it catches me it doesn't matter how much health I have

I didn't like the level and monster design in this. Much better in Super Metroid and Zero Mission. And too me a good soundtrack is super important for Metroid games. This game didn't have that so I can't say I'm that pleased with it.
This game is one on the best EVER on switch and finally are REAL comeback on the series and I have playes like 5 hours I like it very good sold controls and nice music I like areas more good on ather Metroid games but not so far in the game. I really hope this game sells very well. I’m new to Metroid dread and honestly for me it’s a love/hate relationship because I hate how difficult it is with certain parts especially how much damage you take from hits and how easy it is to get lost without hints but other than that I love how the game looks and and everything

I've had that issue too. For some reason it seems to only be when facing bosses. It helps a little if you aren't holding any other buttons down while jumping like the aim or missile button.

It must be a bug, my door isn’t open either and I watched this section so many times, they don’t open the door from the other side at any point so idk how to get it open
Hey!! I found a way past it, just a little bit trickier with the emmi. In the same room on the far right bottom side there is a door you can open and if you run to the right, go though the hole and jump your way up to the top right, you can open the same door we were stuck at and if the emmi is on you, run back through and loop it or jump on the same rail and avoid it
@@sanquezgregory2443 yep, i was cracking my head over it, but yeah, I watched another walkthrough and surely enough, it's on the bottom right side. on the original video, he must've already opened the door and gone back through there, hence it was open for him.
I just wanted to thank you for making this because i used it many times to find out were or what to do next.i got to end boss in 10 hours and tryed very hard but just got him to the part were he pulls out wings.i one thing i didn't like about this game was that at boss you had to do a time move to get passed.i which they had that way for faster win but also be able to beat bosses with just shoting them to.
The twist that it was Raven luring you along impersonating ADAM was telegraphed super hard. At the start they made it a point that ADAM calls Samus "Lady", but for the entire rest of the game he keeps calling her "Samus" instead.
It's a really good game, but I didn't feel like a "get lost", because you can't get lost. The game takes you exactly where you should go. This is not a bad thing at all, because there are very cool things. Surviving the E.M.M.I. room is an example.
I love Adam's voice in this game, especially when he says scary things like "Your highest priority in an E.M.M.I. zone should be simply to survive"

@@eaa1338 So at this point I've rolled the end credits and I understand that it's just a staple of what Metroid is. If I'd played any other title in the franchise I'd have tried to shoot that wall ASAP.
This part is very early though. I assume it was marked on the map ... but I didn't really know what "blinky area" meant by that point. (Obvs. it means: "Shoot every wall inside the marked area until blocks are revealed.")
The game doesn't do a good job teaching a complete noob that all blocks COULD be destructible and that sometimes that's the only way forward. There's a scene before where you shoot destructible blocks but it's while an EMMI chases you and it's the only way forward so I only realized in hindsight that those blocks weren't clearly destructible.
@@oosen42 there are some stuff that makes it more noticeable.
Some destructible blocks are brighter than others, some have a different pattern than other, some walls look really thin, there are some enemies that are climbing on top of a destructible or they are behind the blocks and much more.
Tbh I like this style of finding secrets.
The game gives you some details that can give you a hint on where to shoot destructibles without making it too obvious for the player.
Samus looks so badass in this game, I love it.

Just finished my first playthrough with 100% items today, took 24 hours in game time and a couple months of off an on playing.
Now in the same day I'm 2.5 hours into another run and I've already met Quite Robe, and killed the chozo boy that killed him, even used the Early Bombs sequence break on Kraid (which is super cathartic)
How freakin' cool was that! That's how you continue the story of a beloved character!

I'm at the boss 3:46:00. Only it's taken me a lot lot longer than that to get there! I've died 10x or more. I just don't have the reaction times anymore. Not that I was ever a really good gamer. Average at best. Damn I forgot how frustrating gaming could be. Dying over and over.
Edit: finally figured out that if I relaxed and took my time it's actually nor that hard. But that's what made it so infuriating.
I don't even come close to beating this game without this walkthrough. I am almost finished with the main story.
It is just nice to see Kraid again you know, it gets tiring just fighting Ridley over and over and over again, but with Kraid, every time you fight him it is a tense, frustrating, and fun fight

somewhat related, I bought metroid for the SNES when it came out.
loved it. of course super metroid was amazing as well. metroid was
the reason I bought my switch 3yrs ago. expecting Prime 4 by now
but was happy to get dread. anyway, as far as home consoles go do
you know why the N64 didn't get a Metroid game? was there ever a
plan in place? I try to imagine what an N64 version Samus would look
like. I kind of picture a Turok type landscape with a Samus kind of
built like wrestler from No Mercy.
It was an incredibly difficult job to translate 2d games to 3d. Certain series like Sonic was never able to do it well. Nintendo was able to do it with only two of their franchises in the 90s with Mario and Zelda. And honestly, only one of those was a good recreation. The other was very different.
It wasnt until a brand new American studio (Retro) decided to try making Metroid in the first person, we finally got another good 3d adaptation of a classic Nintendo series.
At least the thumbnail isn't a spoiler this time.

90% of the fanbase already beat it day 1-2 its short but awesome. Cant believe people say they got stuck and didnt know where to go. Actually its the same for any metroid game, the games do a good job telling you where to go, seems like people with dementia are playing metroid and get stuck or something idk.

If you pay attention this is a mix of metroid fusion and zero mission on game boy advance which makes since on why its more 2d style like samus returns and its crazy how this is the newest metroid game they know zero mission and fusion are the best in the series and they are i have a gba emulator on my laptop and still play them till this day favorite games of all time i will be getting a switch asap to play this i may be older but my childhood is alive and well

Also what I loved about Metroid fusion was how SA X would start shooting at you when caught. If the emmi robots had guns it would make things more interesting
Having played the game, it's bad enough 2 can stun you, Dhooting would only make those sections worse, not better IMO.
Being chased rather than shot at is much more terrifying yet still approachable, even with only 10 health I can still try to run threw, but if it catches me it doesn't matter how much health I have

@@TheAlibabatree Wish I could agree but I just can't. Nothing beats Super Metroid and Zero Mission. Over all better games than Dread that just has too much 2021 gameplay and graphics going on. I didn't like the level and monster design in this. Much better in Super Metroid and Zero Mission. And too me a good soundtrack is super important for Metroid games. This game didn't have that so I can't say I'm that pleased with it.

This game is one on the best EVER on switch and finally are REAL comeback on the series and I have playes like 5 hours I like it very good sold controls and nice music I like areas more good on ather Metroid games but not so far in the game. I really hope this game sells very well. And a sequel from GBA Metroid Fusion is sick and yes Metroid last time on 3DS 2017 is gooood but finally on switch Dread was dead for many years and METROID iS BACK!!! data4664 worlds;) thums up.
I’m new to Metroid dread and honestly for me it’s a love/hate relationship because I hate how difficult it is with certain parts especially how much damage you take from hits and how easy it is to get lost without hints but other than that I love how the game looks and and everything
It's one of the hardest yet funnest games I've ever played. Definitely a LOT of trial and error. Especially with the bosses.
@@RoosterDude119 for me the most annoying thing is when I go against bosses and i try to jump multiple times mostly it doesn’t work idk if it’s just me
I've had that issue too. For some reason it seems to only be when facing bosses. It helps a little if you aren't holding any other buttons down while jumping like the aim or missile button.
This game is a testament that a great game doesn't need to be open world and in 3D.
@3:43:19 that door/wall doesn’t open at all, no matter what I do. I have no idea how to trigger it open and I’ve tried everything. I cannot advance until it opens. Is this a glitch or do I need to do something?
It must be a bug, my door isn’t open either and I watched this section so many times, they don’t open the door from the other side at any point so idk how to get it open
Hey!! I found a way past it, just a little bit trickier with the emmi. In the same room on the far right bottom side there is a door you can open and if you run to the right, go though the hole and jump your way up to the top right, you can open the same door we were stuck at and if the emmi is on you, run back through and loop it or jump on the same rail and avoid it
@@sanquezgregory2443 yep, i was cracking my head over it, but yeah, I watched another walkthrough and surely enough, it's on the bottom right side. on the original video, he must've already opened the door and gone back through there, hence it was open for him.
Brilliant, super, thanks a lot devs, this is my favorite oldskul, retro style of 1980's, 1990's Shoot'Em Up. That's what all modern devs should make.

I just wanted to thank you for making this because i used it many times to find out were or what to do next.i got to end boss in 10 hours and tryed very hard but just got him to the part were he pulls out wings.i one thing i didn't like about this game was that at boss you had to do a time move to get passed.i which they had that way for faster win but also be able to beat bosses with just shoting them to.
The twist that it was Raven luring you along impersonating ADAM was telegraphed super hard. At the start they made it a point that ADAM calls Samus "Lady", but for the entire rest of the game he keeps calling her "Samus" instead.

It's a really good game, but I didn't feel like a "get lost", because you can't get lost. The game takes you exactly where you should go. This is not a bad thing at all, because there are very cool things. Surviving the E.M.M.I. room is an example.
I got sick and tired of being led to where I needed to go and constantly having my ability to backtrack taken away.
I wish this walkthrough was labeled with timestamps when upgrades are acquired, might help me with progression.
I can always count on ProsafiaGaming and BeardBear for good walkthroughs.
