I like how when Raven Beak does the whole "I am your father" routine, Samus just gives him an angry look and the fight starts. It makes sense that she doesn't care about the reveal. She has no reason to act shocked or conflicted; this guy is a complete stranger to her, and he has done nothing but try to kill her throughout the entire game, so why would she give a damn about their shared DNA? Old Bird (and Gray Voice if he still exists in canon) was the one who raised her after her biological father died when she was little more than a toddler, and she has had decades to come to terms with their deaths, so she neither needs nor wants a replacement for them. To her, Raven Beak calling her his daughter is probably akin to him spitting on their legacies. It's a nice detail that fits perfectly with her character.
Raven Beak was one of the primary reasons why the Chozo civilization fell into absolute hell (considering he was responsible for engineering the Metroids to attack Chozo that opposed his ideals). There was no way Samus was going to accept him as one of their own.
@@SoldierOfFate So… I’m very lost with what Raven Beak actually is. Is he a Chozo, a corrupted Metroid? It doesn’t help that he also used Kraid as a vessel. Raven Beak has got to be the strangest original Nintendo character I’ve ever seen.
@@lennydickson8845 Raven Beak is a high-ranking Chozo commander gone mad with power - he was primarily responsible for the destruction of Chozo society, and why Metroids are so aggressive (he secretly engineered them to be bioweapons and why they attacked the Chozo in the first place, as shown in Samus Returns in one of the Chozo memories). While their society believes in peace and prosperity, he believes their technological prowess should be used for absolute warfare and domination. However, he was also the other Chozo that offered his DNA (along with Gray Voice) to Samus when she was adopted by them, hence why he calls her "daughter".
See this guy gets it ^ I will admit though beating the shit out of him does leave a sense of satisfaction for all the bullshit he tried to cause in Samus's upbringing.
Samus charging up her cannon and shooting Kraid in the mouth is hysterical I love her "Can you hurry it up? I've got places to be and shit to do." energy
@@archmagetyler Actually, they have. Fusion only had her injected with Metroid DNA, but there was no information about what that was doing to her, her "Metroid powers" only happened in this game.
@@Macaulyn_97 you mean other than the fact she was doing the exact thing the metroids were originally made for (aka going munch munch on natures apex predator) ?
I love how the game shows you the bosses weak point without any dialogue. Samus just shoots in a specific place, and I'm like "that's where I need to shoot".
The way Samus is handled in this game is PERFECT. I got some serious Doom Slayer vibes and that’s exactly what I wanted from Samus. She’s more badass than ever
Considering she's basically a living superweapon that's more powerful than anything the Chozo could ever engineer (considering they're borderline divine beings comparable to the Makyrs that created the ultimate predator of the galaxy), well... she's pretty much on par with the Slayer now.
Some little things about Raven Beak's final form : - It's funny how the very last thing you kill is a fusion between the very first boss and the very last boss of the 2D series - This thing is fully embracing how the X parasites were inspired by the Thing. It's utterly grotesque. - With every other X parasite, Samus absorbs it. Raven Beak's X parasite? She obliterates it.
The X Parasite can absorb the memories of their prey. Samus destroying Raven Beak's X is way of her saying "Your legacy, memories, and past die right here, right now on this forsaken planet" and obviously she doesn't want to carry or witness it, as he was the main reason why the Chozo suffered their doomed fate to begin with.
Uhm,, she's build to be sort of Robotic - in fact that shows _lack_ of personality lol? Which is just fine - she's meant to be a cold-blooded unperturbed Bounty-Hunter.
Not gonna lie, that moment where Samus gets her Metroid Suit and goes ABSOLUTELY FERAL on Raven Beak is... really unsettling. Sure, she's had moments where she displayed some anger and rage, but this is the one time where she's reduced to pure animalistic FURY. It really highlights how much power being a human/Metroid creature gives her, and how dangerous she would be if she were an evil character. Forget Dark Samus and the X, a Metroid Samus with evil intent could consume the galaxy and probably still have room for more when she's done!
This has been basically my fear since the end of Fusion, and I'm pretty glad Dread adressed the issue, though a lot of questions will have to be answered in Metroid 6... But yeah, from the moment Samus one shots the final EMMI right to the end, the game just goes full horror.
You also have to remember what Samus has witnessed and endured throughout her entire life. She's basically desensitized, tired, and burned out where the moment Raven Beak thinks he can use mockeries of herself to control the universe, she immediately goes "I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR PETTY AMBITIONS, JUST DIE ALREADY!" Maybe in a future title we can see her being hunted by the Galactic Federation because they deem her to be a danger, and/or they want to harvest her genetic material for military purposes...
If you think about it, the things Raven Beak is responsible for when it comes to Samus life. When she went completely berserk on him i think is completely justified.
To be fair, he had nearly strangled her to death - fight or flight instinct was in full effect. Prime/Dark Samus was definitely the bigger threat, since it's goal was to corrupt (and thus control) everything in the universe
I usually am not into hard games but this one is just the CORRRECT level of hardness. Just finished it now and had a blast dying several times and improving each time more and more
@@kemanorel3110 I don't think anything like that happened in Other M? What I'm talking about is: - The baby helping against Ridley - The baby sacrifying itself against Mother Brain - Its DNA saving Samus from the X in Fusion - And here, its DNA saving Samus from Raven Beak by triggering her transformation
I feel it's more like the X parasite that absorbed him copied his mind/consciousness. But yeah, it's impressive that it managed to go against its instincts long enough to _not_ attack Samus on sight (even letting itself be absorbed).
@@elinfini I want to agree with you, but even during the final stages of fusion, It was confirmed by Samus that the X copy the body, mind and consciousness, but NOT the soul. There was even an event where Samus had to fight an X copying a human scientist from overriding the space station boiler room. Seeing the way X behaved after copying Quiet Robe Chozo confirmed it for me: The Chozo scientists are special. Special in a way that they know certain things that others don't, even the other Chozo tribes. Which makes me respect them even more, there is a GOOD REASON why the Chozo scientists wanted to destroy the metroids. Because they knew: THEY KNEW what would happen if they were allowed to live; wars, catastrophic damage, even people like Raven beak wanting to use them. We've seen this in so many of the previous games: space pirates, Ridley, Mother Brain, the Galactic federation breeding program in Metroid Fusion. The scientists knew, they say much further into the future. R.I.P Quiet Robe
I dunno....that part still doesn't make sense to me. Quiet Robe was dead. I don't understand how his dead body being taken over by the X-parasite would exert any control over it. That leaves us two options: 1) the X-parasite - in direct contrast to everything we've been shown about them before - actually can be non-aggressive, or 2) it thought it could save itself and escape with Samus. I don't really see how it could be anything other than 2, logically. It does seem very reminiscent of the baby metroid.
i think the way the x parasite behave here is the same as fusion, it knows that the metroids are the natural predator of the x so is essy that an x made the decision to return samus to her normal state. Maybe the x learn that from the mind of the chozo
@@Gonsoi Considering that Quiet Robe was the only survivor of a Chozo clan that could control Metroids (in that they weren't hostile towards them), then it follows that absorbing the X that had his DNA/memories/etc. would "stabilize" Samus' Metroid condition.
When I first got to Experiment Z-57 I was like "there is no way in hell I'm ever gonna come close to beating this thing". But I figured out it's patterns shortly after and now it's my favorite boss in the game.
Watching your energy bar refill after the chozo soldiers was one of the best experiences in the game. That moment where you understand what's really going on there
@@wqweqwet1804 My guess is that the X infected Kraid's corpse after they were released, but didn't see any use of it so they absorbed what organic material was left and set off to find more suitable prey. That's the most likely explanation why the Raven Beak-X has resemblances to Kraid's design.
@@SoldierOfFate I also heard a theory that the X from that Experiment No. Z-57 boss that fell in the lava went on to infect Kraids corpse and then found Raven Beak at the end.
I’m saying this now but I honestly think Ridley might come back. I know he’s technically dead but he’s always fines a way to come back. Besides Kraid is still alive somehow so I think Ridley might come back in the future.
This TH-camr's boss fight videos are very satisfying to watch and I'm surprised to see samus' new suit, it looks to be an actual metroid suit because of the color scheme and the design it has too.
Not only that she has the metroid draining abilities too! Even drained and stole Raven Beak's super laser beam ability, and even potentially drain her ship's energy had Quiet Robe had not offered himself to be absorbed for the chozo DNA to neutralize the metroid suit to turn her back into her power suit form
By this point, she has come to expect Kraid to return since hey, Ridley keeps coming back despite being blown to atoms. Might as well get used to it so you'll never be caught off guard.
Some of her facial expressions (especially with the pissed off look in her eyes) resemble the Doom Slayer also. And of course...her uncontrolled rage against Raven Beak when she becomes a human/Metroid hybrid...that just screams rip and tear energy.
Everything about this game just does Metroid right, from the bosses to the movement and combat, to the atmosphere and story. I thought the trailers looked great, but after Other M I was surprised how well Nintendo and MS nailed the story, character, and feel of it. It’s great when a game surpasses your expectations and leaves you fully satisfied.
“Don’t call me Metroid!” Sorry Metroid, but it seems you have lived long enough to see yourself become the very thing you’ve been exterminating this whole time.
You even made a being stronger than you collect your helmet and kill Metroid when you saved a Metroid. (Kirby has to get her helmet in Kirby’s dreamland 3 and has to fight off Metroid)
@@archmagetyler Probably not so much it seems the X-Parasite at the end was meant to supress those abilities so she could lift off as it implies her ship runs off of life energy? Or the Metroids don't just absorb life energy.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective the latter answer is correct, as even as far back as super metroids opening, it was confirmed they had more penitential than just munching life energy. and given that during samuses extreme rage she ate the power of the ENTIRE LOCATION along with the power of raven beaks suit, it's not too much of strech to say that metroids could've been used like live batteries. point is, if she drained enough energy again she could go right back to being that zero laser weilding mad woman we loved playing as.
@@archmagetyler All I know is this had better be a costume option in Smash. That's sounds creepy but awesome. Looking forward to diving into dread really.
Something I found really cool about the final boss fight is the fact that it's such a far cry from the kind of Metroid endbosses we're used to. Instead of facing off against some giant fleshy behemoth or mutant pterosaur, your final foe is a graceful, elegant, deadly warrior. The battle arena isn't some techno-hell filled with lava or giant deserted canyon -- it's a fucking throne room. That's what makes the fight with Raven Beak so cool imo: the juxtaposition.
Experiment No. Z-57 is my favorite Metroid boss fight of all time, it feels so good to fight him. But tbh every boss fight in this game is amazing (except the rehashed EMMI Mother Brain style bosses, those are nothing special really).
Also helps that the ROM for this game got leaked about a week ago (better to buy the game so more Metroid games can be made!). BFD did play this legitimately though according to comments, so some regions got the game a day earlier legitimately .
AHHHHHH! raven beak. one the most cunning and powerful villians in metroid verse so far, but as all megalomanic villians, he made that one mistake that brung him down. he informed samus of her metroid potential, with delusion that she would join him just cause of some shared dna and bringing some kinda forced order on the galaxy.
You'd think he'd at least explain what his plan was, try to convince her it had merit. But no, let me demand obedience from someone who has cleaned up all the messes I could barely contain.
@@T4nkcommander Again megaglomaniac with god complex, he thought cause had hand in engineering samus, that she should be subservient to him for that reason!

Fun Fact: We actually saw Experiment No. Z-57 earlier in the game. I forget which area but it's being made in the background as we run by it. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
I actually only knew that from the initial reveals of the game, I was all impressed with the boss battles themselves, the way when you counter a certain attack you go into a cutscene where you can do more damage to the boss. Plus, they made it possible to do many different things in terms of jumping and using your screw attack in tandem with the flash shift ability to avoid attacks better during the final boss.
anybody here got feeling samus aran going be hunted by every faction in galaxy now? Federation, rogue chozo, i thinks space pirates been wiped out completely after super metroid but who knows, i love it if we could get decent mother brain return with out it being some kinda varriant of her.
The Federation isn’t actually hunting Samus. Fusion had a mistranslation that made it seem like the entire Federation was corrupt and as a result wanted to capture Samus, but in the Japanese version, it was actually only a rogue group of the Federation doing these things. Which is why Samus is still working with them and took their mission to go to ZDR in this game.

Raven Beak and his sect are the last Chozo in existence. Dread is supposed to conclude the story of them, the Metroids, and the X - absolutely none of them are left. As for the Federation and the Space Pirates....time will tell.
Who else wishes Metroid had a game mode similar to wave-like survival rounds? I love the combat and upgrades so much, imagine how much fun the mode would be if you gradually increased your upgrades and items you acquire through an upgrades tab after a selective amount of waves of the planets' creatures and mini bosses, up until Raven Beak. You technically start off with your regular arsenal and starting suit, but as the waves progress, you choose your advantages and what suit it ties up into.
Omg I died so many times against Corpius it's not even funny, even knowing the pattern. This is almost old school platformer hard but it's so fun you keep coming back for more.
The fact that every move works seamlessly makes it feel better as a speedrun type game too. Knowing that the speed booster can be recharged if you shine spark onto a ramp and it also helps when completing those tricky speed booster puzzles. When I realized how much simpler they made shine sparking in this game, they made it more versatile to keep the energy with you so you can store or use it in different ways, like bounding off walls for one of them, to even shine sparking a ramp to recharge your speed booster for more wall bounding.
After all the shit she's gone through and how her character has that "I'm sick of this crap, stop wasting my time and die" energy and personality, the Slayer should offer her a job as a Night Sentinel.
Love everything they did with this suit. From the start to end. Looks freaking amazing. Even liked the monster suit, but still glad it doesn't last to the very end. As the Gravity (assume the purple one is Gravity suit) is still better looking.
Funny little thing I noticed is that when you do the special parry thing for raven beak, he does a kick thing that looks like Samus's down up tilt in ssbu.
If the manga is still canon (probably is), then Raven Beak isn't her literal father as her mother and father (Virginia Aran and Chief Rodney Aran, respectively) were killed by Ridley on K-2L. I guess the cutscene and dialogue imply that he was the Chozo who decided to infuse his DNA into Samus, but that would be a retcon as it was Gray Voice who donated his DNA for Samus's infusion process (unless if they took the whole Batman Beyond approach and made Gray Voice think that his DNA was used for Samus's DNA infusion but then swapped it out in secret with Raven Beak's DNA). Beats me what they're going with here.
Samus' Father(technically) Is Old Bird of the Chozo he was the one who provided the Chozo DNA infused into her via Crystal Flash, and he was involved in betraying the Chozo to the Space Pirates, Wait Raven Beak is Old Bird!
@@bigfan10-gaming79 The devil is in the details here. Old Bird decided to infuse Samus with Chozo DNA, but Gray Voice was the one who provided his DNA for the process. Old Bird definitely acted as a father figure to Samus for sure though as he provided Samus her suit and her training. Old Bird and Gray Voice can be seen in that mural that's shown at the Ruins Test / God of War area within Zero Mission's Chozodia Ruins. I looked it up. Apparently she had TWO Chozo DNA transfusions, which makes sense as the cutscene in this video shows Samus as being a bit older than how old she was when she got Gray Voice's DNA infusion in the Manga. As such, Samus has (well, had) 5 fathers: 1) Rodney Aran: Biological Father that was killed by Ridley. 2) Old Bird: Father Figure after Rodney Aran that is probably dead at this point (his last transmission was cut off by Space Pirates during the Zebes invasion and his fate is currently unknown). Also was the one who decided that Samus should get Chozo DNA. Some theories claim that he was one of the Elderly Chozo that Raven Beak killed in the Chozo Archives, but who knows for sure. 3) Gray Voice: Donor of Thoha (Scientist Tribe) Chozo DNA. Was killed by Ridley in the Manga (Skewered and then Plasma Screamed to death). 4) Adam Malkovich: Commanding Officer of Samus before she became a Bounty Hunter. Samus considered him to be both her best friend and her father figure. Was killed when Sector Zero got detached from the Bottle Ship, but his mind lives on through the Adam AI within Samus's gunship. 5) Raven Beak: Donor of Mawkin (Warrior Tribe) Chozo DNA. Weakened by Samus, then killed by the X, then killed by Samus while being part Kraid, part Chozo, and part X, then the X got eradicated from there by Samus's Shoop da Whoop laser (or whatever the actual term for her Super Beam is as it's not the Hyper Beam from Super). This means that Samus has Human DNA as her main DNA, two infusions of Chozo DNA (one Scientist Chozo DNA strand and one Warrior Chozo DNA strand), and one infusion of Metroid DNA. She's basically a melting pot of DNA at this point.
@@bigfan10-gaming79 I don't think she has X Parasite DNA in her though. The Metroid DNA within her eats whatever X she absorbs and gives her any power-ups associated with any Core X observed. As such, the absorption of SA-X at the end of Fusion probably just gave Samus her Ice Beam and "Omega Suit" back and didn't change her DNA structure. If you think about it, the Metroid DNA would probably eat/counteract any X DNA that gets infused as the Metroid DNA eats the X down to the cellular level. As for the ending of Dread, it looks like that final X that she absorbs either gives her the ability to control her Metroid Armor or just completely negates the Metroid Armor. It's probably the former as it wouldn't make sense for them to drop a plot point that gets introduced
So. I'm watching the battle of the experiment right, and I noticed the part with the fans are extremely interesting and has great details. For instance you can see after it uses the attack, flesh like stuff covers the fans completely. If you keep watching you can still see the fans try to spin still. I mean attention to details hello! It's incredible what went into this game after years and years of transitioning and development
I love that stance energy from Samus at 3:05 she's like "Can you hurry and die a little faster please?" Also 4:35 she straight up tells Kraid "Shut the hell up!" I love this savage Samus way more!
Well how many times has she killed that thing already? He's been in almost every metroid game hasn't he? But I think its more Samus is just sick of all this crap, shes been dealing with it for years, and pretty much anyone else is useless due to what is needed to kill them, So shes stuck dealing with it on her own. I mean in the opening cutscene even her AI on her ship says that the reward is not worth the effort. When even a AI can see it, you can deff bet she knows it too. Whats going to happen after dread though? If she finally gets rid of the x-parasite, what is next? I mean I'd hope the poor woman gets some time off to chill, this is assuming the scientists don't wanna examine her after all this. I mean she is a pretty unique lifeform due to whats happened to her. I can already see it now: Next Metroid game, they extracted her DNA and decided to.. experiment with it, and their experiment gets out of control, Whether they took it with her permission or not, its be better if it was with permission so we could have a scene with her telling the ones hiring her: "I told you guys not to mess with it but no one listens to me." Then she goes off to deal with whatever her dna they were experimenting with spawned.
To explain what happen in the ending. Samus contains the dna of many chozo and tribesman, including raven beaks. But the problem was that his tribe were the branch that metroid were very hostile towards, hence why despite having chozo dna, the metroids attacked her. During the events of fusion, the vaccine that samus took to survive the x parasites was made from the very last metroid cells that samus had meet, the baby, which had the genetics of a queen metroid, the strongest of the natural species. Which basically made her part chozo, part human, and now, part metroid. And because shes part metroid, she can safely absorb the x parasites, and take thier abilites and dna. So when she first appeared in the planet ZDR and first met raven beak, her metroid dna went berserk because his tribes genetics caused them to make her metroid genes to go bersek, which made her lose consciousness. Its because if this raven beak spared her and was intrested in her turning more into a metroid. So when they faught again and samus nearly lost, she remebered that he was directly responsible for many chozo deaths, the metroids spread and the x appearing, she let her rage out and her metorid part went absolutely mad. But this not only nearly turned her into a metorid, she was also removing her chozo dna from raven beaks, turning more into a real metroid. And thanks to being part metroid, she unlocked the hyper beam again because of her metroid dna. Which was why she was able to completely destroy the x rather then absorb it, something only metroids have the ablity to do. But the problem was that she can not control it or stop it, hence why adam warned her not to touch the ship. But this all changed because quiet robe x came and actually manged to retain his individuality, long enough for him to let himself be absorbed by samus. And since quiet robe was the very last of the chozo tribe that can control the metroids, samus absorbing him let her regain her chozo dna and have full control over the metroids powers. Making samus not only the strongest metroid, the strongest chozo, but also the new mother brain for any metroids, but cellular and species in general.
Ridley: *being the coolest Metroid villain for 30+ years* Metroid Dread: *has Raven Beak in it* Ridley: finally a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary!
She was also a badass in other M too, with counters, throwing enemies and shooting them down their throats. It's one of the games, that actually reflected well her super human abilities. The story and character interactions were different since, well, there actually were many more characters, and was more emotional. Personally I think it was nice to see a human side. Anyways, she never stopped being a badass. Many boss, midboss interactions and smooth fast gameplay are similar to other M's. From there, you can tell that the ideas were reworked and perfected for Samus Returns and now more polished in Dread.

It has now come full circle. When Metroid first came out, apparently people thought the character you were controlling is named "Metroid" Here? Samus is now "Metroid" >_>
Got clarification on that for you right here. 1) That pose that Samus makes at the end of this video is the only one that occurs. No suit stripping this time around as the devs were under a tight deadline. Maybe an update will change this, but I don't fully mind its current implementation as the galleries that we did get are pretty sweet. 2) There's a Chozo Archives gallery that is based on item acquisition rate. You get each picture when you get 100% in each area. 8 pictures means 8 areas, and each picture is relevant to the area that you clear. 3) There's an Ending gallery that shows flashbacks to pivotal scenes throughout the mainline series. These are based on how fast you beat each difficulty. The magic number for getting the endings match up with Samus Returns, so the first one for each difficulty is more than 8 hours, the second is between 4 and 8 hours, and the third is less than 4 hours. They are as follows: a) Zero Mission: Normal over 8. b) Samus Returns: Normal between 4 and 8. c) Super: Normal under 4. d) Other M: Hard over 8. e) Fusion: Hard between 4 and 8. f) Dread: Hard under 4. As you can see in this video, they're cumulative (BFD got the ZM and SR endings for getting around 7 hours and 45 minutes), so you only need two playthroughs to get all 6 ending scenes if you can beat Normal under 4 hours and Hard under 4 hours. 4) Clearing the Chozo Archives gallery unlocks a special image that shows most of the key characters throughout the series with Samus in her Power Suit. 5) Clearing the Ending gallery unlocks another special image. It's the same image as the Chozo Archives special image but with Samus in her Zero Suit instead of her Power Suit (she's literally the only difference in the picture). To unlock everything in both galleries, you have two options: a) The Easy Way: Clear a Normal playthrough with 100%, then clear a Normal playthrough with a clear time of 4 hours or less, and then clear a Hard playthrough with a clear time of 4 hours or less. So you'll have three playthroughs, but the first one allows you to figure out the best routes for the other two. b) The Time Efficient Way: Clear a Normal playthrough with 100% item acquisition with a clear time of 4 hours or less and then clear a Hard playthrough with a clear time of 4 hours or less. You'll only spend 8 hours or less with this route as you'll only have two playthroughs, but this is hell if you're doing this blind unless if you savescum or are just plain lucky. I saw a video of someone clearing this game in 2 hours and 59 minutes on both difficulties, so it's not impossible to do at a reasonable pace.
@@mandreotti8320 Also, BeardBear was able to do a 100% Hard Mode run under 3 hours, so it's totally possible to get both galleries in two runs if you plot things out ahead of time.

Part of me thought Kraid would be the last boss fight
It’s a shame we didn’t get to see Ridley
May Ridley live on in smash and in our hearts
So no Ridley
No Ridely? Aw man.
From what I’ve seen, he isn’t a terrible old Chozo “father”. He did offer his energy to her ship despite everything he did
Raven Beak was one of the primary reasons why the Chozo civilization fell into absolute hell (considering he was responsible for engineering the Metroids to attack Chozo that opposed his ideals).
Samus charging up her cannon and shooting Kraid in the mouth is hysterical
I love her "Can you hurry it up? I've got places to be and shit to do." energy
And that's why we like her
"Oh great, are you now gonna revive seventeen times like Ridley did? That's got boring after a few years."
She get more stylish too, truly showing her "greatest bounty hunter" credibility

It seems that people who called Samus "Metroid" because they didn't know her name are no longer wrong now...
You right! In a strage way but you right!
I mean they haven’t really been wrong since fusion.
@@archmagetyler This game has her suddenly gain powers to match powerful beings like the Chozo, before she was just getting suit upgrades and healing.
I love how the game shows you the bosses weak point without any dialogue. Samus just shoots in a specific place, and I'm like "that's where I need to shoot".
I also enjoy that the bosses are tough, but fair...
That is for kids....if you are chad you only need to skip the scene and fight
haha yeah, videogames 101: hit the glowing parts!!
@@thetypeofred but then you miss a cool cutscene D:
Not as intuitive as previews titles.
She could also be similar to Batman especially since both of their parents got murdered.
Where my ridley
Samus is samus.
Samus is not doom guy
doom slayer is the new master chief
Some little things about Raven Beak's final form :
- It's funny how the very last thing you kill is a fusion between the very first boss and the very last boss of the 2D series
- This thing is fully embracing how the X parasites were inspired by the Thing.
@@SoldierOfFate agreed, only memory she will carry on is Grey voice. Also the armor Samus possess at the end might be a hint for the sequel.
@@lucaruxyz1075 If they make a 6th smash game in the future, they'd be dumb not to make it her final smash
It's also really creepy how Raven Beak X just keeps saying "power is everything" in the Chozo language as he drags himself towards you.
Well that and Experiment n z57 that gets obliterated
Samus just going "Oh. It's you." To Kraid is amazing. She has so much personality through her motions
I also see it slightly as her going..kraid? What happened to you? Well..time to put you out of your misery..
samus killed kraid in zero mission right? how does she kill him again?
@@Garou_BZ
For the same reason why she had to kill him again in Super: 'cause bird magic.
I feel like Kraid's DNA has been open-sourced by this point, and anyone can just clone one if they wanted to
Uhm,, she's build to be sort of Robotic - in fact that shows _lack_ of personality lol?
50 bucks says that's going to be a meme for the next year or so.
She's basically desensitized, tired, and burned out where the moment Raven Beak thinks he can use mockeries of herself to control the universe, she immediately goes "I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR PETTY AMBITIONS, JUST DIE ALREADY!"
Maybe in a future title we can see her being hunted by the Galactic Federation because they deem her to be a danger, and/or they want to harvest her genetic material for military purposes...
Just finished it now and had a blast dying several times and improving each time more and more
Same here
Same also in January 2024.
Fourth time.
That's technically the fourth time the Baby Metroid saved Samus' life.
Third time. We don't talk about that thing that happened in 2010.
@@kemanorel3110 I don't think anything like that happened in Other M? What I'm talking about is:
- The baby helping against Ridley
- The baby sacrifying itself against Mother Brain
- Its DNA saving Samus from the X in Fusion
- And here, its DNA saving Samus from Raven Beak by triggering her transformation

I cried when the scientist offered himself as a sacrifice. That means he knows how to control both the Metroid AND X parasite!!
@@Gonsoi
Considering that Quiet Robe was the only survivor of a Chozo clan that could control Metroids (in that they weren't hostile towards them), then it follows that absorbing the X that had his DNA/memories/etc. would "stabilize" Samus' Metroid condition.
I think that is the most badass Samus of all Metroids.
No you're badass
Samus in Metroid Fusion is equally as badass as in Metroid Prime.

Fun fact this is technically the first time we saw a chozo and kraid as the final boss in a metroid game.
... is it cuz kraid's X infected the chozo?
I was wondering that as well, I have yet to play it but I'd be curious as to why, lore-wise, that choice was made.
@@wqweqwet1804 My guess is that the X infected Kraid's corpse after they were released, but didn't see any use of it so they absorbed what organic material was left and set off to find more suitable prey. That's the most likely explanation why the Raven Beak-X has resemblances to Kraid's design.

Samus father introduced
Me: I'm just going to wait in the ship
As such, Samus has (well, had) 5 fathers:
1) Rodney Aran: Biological Father that was killed by Ridley.
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 Don't forget X Parasite DNA from the SA-X in Fusion from the end of the Game

Kraid's quick kill is amazing - I wish that were here.
I love that stance energy from Samus at 3:05 she's like "Can you hurry and die a little faster please?"
Also 4:35 she straight up tells Kraid "Shut the hell up!" I love this savage Samus way more!
@@scyris99 This is why everyone loves Dread her no fucks given attitude is what we all been waiting for. She legit turned into Doom Girl.
Very good explanation. I'm impressed
Ridley: *being the coolest Metroid villain for 30+ years*
Metroid Dread: *has Raven Beak in it*

Cold. Stoic. Badass. This is a complete 180 from how they portrayed Samus in Other M.
it's kinda funny that metroid dread became what other m should have been:
Just Fucking Amazing
She was also a badass in other M too, with counters, throwing enemies and shooting them down their throats. It's one of the games, that actually reflected well her super human abilities. The story and character interactions were different since, well, there actually were many more characters, and was more emotional. Personally I think it was nice to see a human side. Anyways, she never stopped being a badass. Many boss, midboss interactions and smooth fast gameplay are similar to other M's. From there, you can tell that the ideas were reworked and perfected for Samus Returns and now more polished in Dread.
That chozo boss is getting the smash ball everytime
I think you maybe the first one who put out all boss fights for this new game. Thank you, I used to have all the consoles in my youth and now I enjoy just watching other people played online.
Oddly sweet ^
metroid games always been a blast to play through the first time, my favorite ones are definitely the metroid fusion series (dread is now a favorite too) and zero. haha. I recommend this game wholeheartedly.
Galactic Federation Astrogator: "Sir? We lost another planet from the charts."
Galactic Federation Commander: *Heavy Sigh.* "Samus?"
GFA: "Yes, sir."
GFC: "Woman's a walking black hole..."
Legit took me almost an HOUR to beat Raven Beak even on normal difficulty. This game is def hard af, but a great game.
I just love these cinematic god of war takedowns everytime a candy for my eye.
NGL Kraid shooting belly button lint out of an infected wound and throwing his fingernails is utterly disturbing.
Samus: HERE I GO, SHINING FINGER!!!!!
I just like how she's like "Oh, you again," in Kraid's intro.
everyone talking about samus but i think it's cool as shit that raven beak got one wing blasted off and decided the other one was dead weight and tore it off himself
OMG Samus is so badass in this game!!! 😍
She doesn't give a fuck to bosses :O
It has now come full circle.
When Metroid first came out, apparently people thought the character you were controlling is named "Metroid"
Here? Samus is now "Metroid" >_>
Look at me. I am the Metroid now.

Are there different results screens for beating the game faster and getting 100% like the other games?
There's an ending gallery, so that's a yes by default.
They are as follows:
a) Zero Mission: Normal over 8.
b) Samus Returns: Normal between 4 and 8.
c) Super: Normal under 4.
d) Other M: Hard over 8.
e) Fusion: Hard between 4 and 8.
f) Dread: Hard under 4.
To unlock everything in both galleries, you have two options:
a) The Easy Way: Clear a Normal playthrough with 100%, then clear a Normal playthrough with a clear time of 4 hours or less, and then clear a Hard playthrough with a clear time of 4 hours or less.
@@theonewhowrotethis5681 Thank you for the extensive reply!
@@mandreotti8320 No prob! Figured I should correct my original statement as it was a bit misleading (it implied that there were multiple 3D endings).
@@mandreotti8320 Also, BeardBear was able to do a 100% Hard Mode run under 3 hours, so it's totally possible to get both galleries in two runs if you plot things out ahead of time.

I love Ridley but he doesn’t need to be in every game, it was nice to have Kraid for a welcome change
Well by this point Ridley is super dead and most likely will not be returning past this point.
Any games based before Super is fair game but after wards would probably not have him
@@4wheal They’ll always find a way to bring him back. Death means nothing in the Metroid world. The Metroid have faced about 4 extinctions at this point haha
29:27 Honestly, I was expecting Samus to say “Any objections Raven Beak”?

So Samus is the last Metroid... That would explain why The Baby got attached to her after she hatched. It probably sensed Samus' Metroid DNA and mistook her for the Metroid Queen...
@Steveluvscows No no, in samus returns is before dread the time line is this whitout the prime saga( Metroid zero mission, Metroid Samus return, Super metroid, Other M, Fusion and Dread) When the baby see Samus, he think she is his mother, because before Fusion, Samus don't have Metroid DNA, the baby just do the same thing as the birds, when the birds get out of the egg, tge first thing they see, they take that as her Mother, the baby just do that, when he se Samus he think she is her mother, sorry if something wrong, english isn't my first Idiom
