I have an uncle who tried to keep every single toy he ever had and keeps them in a room. The room doesnt look creepy, its actually quite nice. He takes extremely good care of every single one of them and (I'm not embarrassed to say this) even plays with them to this day. He says that he used to believe that toys were alive when he was young. He says he does it for the nostalgia. I give him the toys that I have lost interest in. If there ever is a toy war, this man will survive.

They also became more numerous and diverse. This is when things started to fall apart. As toys become more common and replaceable, owners grew more careless. This caused unrest to begin bubbling up in the toys.
Bu the fact that parts of the tortilla were moving independently, it's verifiable that he not only inserted his sentience and intelligence into the food, but independent animation as well.

The scene at the end of the movie is non-canon.

One issue with this: Mr. Potato Head is the only type of toy we see controlling their own severed body parts. When Buzz's arm falls off, it's dead, devoid of life. Same with Woody's arm in the sequel. There's clearly a center of consciousness for these toys

Wow. I’d never thought that deeply into the lore of Toy Story but these hypothetical ideas are very interesting! The list of things that cause a war in society were insightful for real life too. This is definitely one of my favorite theories from the channel!
One small problem with the ending. Mr. Potato head taking over a tortilla is an ability exclusive to him and any other potato heads. Buzz and Woody have both lost in arm at some point. From that point, until they were re attached, Buzz and Woody had no control of the arm that they lost. Woody even lost control of it when his arm was only partially ripped off.

Though that raises another question: can the magic that brings toys to life also affect something that's already alive (namely, a tree), or is it limited to inorganic matter? Regardless, it's the Minifigures you want to look out for. Imagine how many kids built the minifigures first and pretended that they were the ones building the rest of the set? Heck, I'm an adult and *I* still do that! Then there's the minifigures living with Lego artists and designers. And when you get into Lego technic stuff and power functions and what you can do with it, well... The Lego technic team was able to make a drivable Bagheti out of Lego technic pieces (with some real parts used for the base frame and tires, but the important stuff was all LEGO).

A human knowing about the masquerade would be VERY powerful. They could, for example, 'play' with something really powerful/dangerous like a construction vehicle, stick some googly eyes on it somewhere, name it, etc., until it's considered enough of a toy to come to life. You wouldn't know immediately, but if you could convince it and/or manipulate it into coming to life and being loyal to you, you could have an anomalous, immortal servant machine.
I have probably almost 100 stuffed animals... And other toys like lps and mlp, barbie, etc. I have always treated them like my children and protect them as much as I can. I was always terrified of the toy story movies as a kid, still am actually 😅. If they did come to life they would probably hate me, let's just put it as I got distracted easily and liked to chew on anything. Over half of my disney princess toys that had that plastic thing in their leg so it could bend ever so slightly ended with it poking out through their chewed ankles :( I didn't want to mistreat my dolls but it was habit as a kid. I also lost all their clothes so they were pretty much all naked. My stuffies I would be more safe from though, love those guys :D

One small problem with the ending. Mr. Potato head taking over a tortilla is an ability exclusive to him and any other potato heads. Buzz and Woody have both lost in arm at some point. From that point, until they were re attached, Buzz and Woody had no control of the arm that they lost. Woody even lost control of it when his arm was only partially ripped off.

Regardless, it's the Minifigures you want to look out for. Imagine how many kids built the minifigures first and pretended that they were the ones building the rest of the set? Heck, I'm an adult and *I* still do that! Then there's the minifigures living with Lego artists and designers. And when you get into Lego technic stuff and power functions and what you can do with it, well... The Lego technic team was able to make a drivable Bagheti out of Lego technic pieces (with some real parts used for the base frame and tires, but the important stuff was all LEGO).

If Mr. Potato head tried to give a tree eyes, the tree would not become sentient, it wouldn't move at all! Even if it did work, the tree would Most likely be thicker than the plastic, meaning that the eyes would bend and possibly break!
A human knowing about the masquerade would be VERY powerful. They could, for example, 'play' with something really powerful/dangerous like a construction vehicle, stick some googly eyes on it somewhere, name it, etc., until it's considered enough of a toy to come to life. You wouldn't know immediately, but if you could convince it and/or manipulate it into coming to life and being loyal to you, you could have an anomalous, immortal servant machine.

I was always terrified of the toy story movies as a kid, still am actually 😅. If they did come to life they would probably hate me, let's just put it as I got distracted easily and liked to chew on anything. Over half of my disney princess toys that had that plastic thing in their leg so it could bend ever so slightly ended with it poking out through their chewed ankles :( I didn't want to mistreat my dolls but it was habit as a kid. I also lost all their clothes so they were pretty much all naked. My stuffies I would be more safe from though, love those guys :D

I think Woodie was Andy’s FATHERS. His father abandoned him and the only thing he left his son was Woodie and the cow boy hat. It’s the reason why it was so hard for him to let Woodie go.
