- It took me some time to find the solution, but after trying several different cleaners and tips from others on TH-cam, I found Maguire’s PlastX.
Here’s the link on Amazon: www.amazon.ca/...

The spots on my gauge cluster / dash speedometer was so annoying. I thought I would have to live with it forever. But 3 coats and cleaning with a lint free cloth, it worked!
For 100% transparency, if you look really really closely some of the spots are faint but I’d say that 95% of it is gone. And if you apply more and wipe them you won’t even see anything. Anymore.
I had those same spots on the cluster plastic. I tried cleaning with a glass cleaner - that did nothing, so I assumed the spots somehow were on the inside of the cluster plastic and I was getting ready to remove and disassemble the cluster to clean the spots off the inside. Thankfully, I saw this video before I started and drove to the parts store and purchased this. 15 minutes later the spots were gone as the spots were on the outside plastic. This stuff saved me 4-6 hours of taking the cluster out, disassembling, cleaning, and reinstalling.
It's 2025 here and it turned out working really well on Honda civic 2020 Thanks dude you saved my new Honda
Thank You!!! I was in the exact same situation as @BrianCullens, sitting in my truck about to rip it apart to try to clean behind the lens when I found this video. Ran to Canadian Tire to pick up Meguiar’s Plastx and 30 minutes later those spots that drive you completely crazy…gone. So grateful for you sharing this.
Thankkkk you soooo much! I’ve been trying to search for videos about this problem but I really didn’t know what to call this problem, but I found it! I will be grabbing this ASAP!
awesome! yeah I didn't even know what to make the title of the video lol
Thank you so much this worked so well. It took some elbow grease but it looks so much better!!!!
This gives me hope! I used an abrasive cleaner on my gauge cluster without realizing and now the thing is covered in white spots 😭 I’m going to try this product soon!
Thank you! Was difficult to find a solution cause I didn’t know how to describe this! Tried it worked well! I’m curious if it has held up for you? Did the spots come back after awhile? Or hasn’t given you no more trouble!
Thanks again!
Do you notice increased glare on the panel when you drive now? Terrific results! Thank you for the video.
Not at all. It worked so well.
Please how did you get it off eventually? I’ve applied this stuff a bunch of times and the spots won’t come off
Use a small amount of olive or vegetable oil with a microfiber towel you’ll see the best results
Oh my god thanks for posting this.
Literally just watched this and realized I have some of that clarifying compound from the turtle wax headlight restore kit. which essentially is the same type of product, a very fine grit rubbing compound. I used this just now with some elbow grease for about 10 minutes and all my sports on the gauge cluster disappeared.
Thanks it worked for me also!
That’s great to hear! Thanks for watching my video, really appreciate it
Thanks!! I’ve been looking for something for this, it almost seems like it’s just dirty from the inside so I hope this works because I’ve just seen videos of people saying to take the whole thing apart, I’m like no LOL so thank you for this
of course, no problem! I'm glad I can help other people!
Thanks, it worked for me too.
However, I had Flamingo car wax which I used
That’s great to hear! Maybe I’ll try car wax next time!
Hi, thank you for the helpful videod! I am wondering if this item can remove stains from bug spray as well? I heard the DEET inside bug spray melts the plastic so I am not sure if my car gauge screen can be cleaned and recovered by using this product.
I accidentally sprayed armor all on mine will this work is been like that for days already?
Did it work?
Yes most of the spots… do this 3 times 1 week a part and they will mostly all disappear. Depending on the damage it has already caused. But yup way better than before.
Do you think I can use it on the console screen?
Will this remove scratches? I wipe with a microfiber and scratch it 😢
I've tried this like three times now and the stupid spots still won't come off. I don't know what kind of caustic cleaner the place I bought the car from used on the inside to do this, but dang :(
What would happen if tou used a light rubbing compound?
I had the same problem and i tried wd-40. The white spots disappeared for now. With wd-40 they disappeared with tiny effort
Used wd40 as well. It 99% worked. I see the odd spot but it's 99% gone. Thanks!
Ty bro
Lol I’ll try again later 😂 very funny to me
Those white spot were inside ?
They were on the outside
Problem is the spits wilk return
I used this product and it never took the spots off just made it dehaze
This is £57 plus shipping cost for the UK!!!
Didn’t work for me either I have the exact same spots as the video
I used rubbing alcohol
Did it do the trick?
That sounds like it would make it more hazy
Noooooo
🔥🔥
Thank you!
I accidentally got armorall on my dash as well. It wasn’t my armorall either. Looks like raindrops…
No it does not work if it doesn't work on screen plastic doesn't work on odometer tried it and it's fake
It works
This happens when those idiots that don’t know how to wash and clean cars at the car washes spray stuff all over the place!
