So how does the UVC light clean the water? What is the source of this light?

The system comes equipped with standard LED lights for ambiance and a night light function, which can be turned off if desired. Additionally, there is a specialized LED known as UVC, which operates at an ultraviolet wavelength. This UVC light sanitizes the water by disrupting the DNA of germs, preventing them from reproducing. However, it’s important to note that the UVC light does not "clean" the water; the water should already be filtered or distilled before use. This UVC stays in at all times and it’s very dim.most of the light it emits is not visible to the human eye.

Assuming this is for descaling (and not mold/germs) why on earth would you need to do this once a week if you're already using distilled water? Even my Keurig running regular drinking water only requires descaling once every 6 months or so.

No “descaling” is necessary. CPAPS are medical devices, the better the cleaning routine the saver they are. CSpring users are in control of how often they want to clean their CSpring mk2.
Some users have reported that they clean theirs once every two months. CSpring has to advise the best practices. How often you clean is up you.

Once a week is a just recommendation. I (the social media person ) clean mine once every couple of months. I’ve been using mine for about three years.
