I don't think the average person can fathom how impressive that is. I did the Rogue heavy challenge which was 1 mile as fast as possible with 100lbs and that was hard enough. But to add all of the pull-ups, push-ups and squats and 2 miles total??? 🤯 And cue the rain storm! 😂 Congrats Dan!
@@Phat-rj3jo Not necessarily. If your core is as strong as his and you try to stay in good positions it shouldn't hurt your back. I'd argue sitting all day is worse for your back.
The last two minutes, with Dan reflecting on the what and why and how of what he just did, was soooooooo impactful. Bailey is a great dude and this sport needs him to continue to be a part of it. Congrats Dan!!
This right here is elite fitness. Dan is a true athlete. This is the type of mindset CrossFit used to carry before they started catering to the masses with the 8-minute AMRAPs and brand recognition.
So much respect! To do that workout with that amount of weight is truly amazing to see! And the last few minutes of the video are just gold, everyone needs to hear that!
Bro this felt like a movie!! Seeing everyone cheer him on and like even tearing up explaining that sometimes it’s not just a brand. But a community that feels like a family. That’s such a huge blessing to be a part of this brand and people within the name. I hope everyone is healthy and gets to their goal
Brings back shitty memories of rucking in the rain for 20 miles a day with 100lbs+ in the ruck plus our kit. Still feel the memories of the weight crushing every part of my body 12 years later. Great vid man.
I just did my first MURPH today and I had modified it like crazy to just do it. No weighted vest 1km run 20 rounds of 5 pull ups 10 pushups 15 squats 1km run time to complete 1hour 8mins Now I watch Dan do it and holy crap!!!!! 100lbs!!!! Pure monster of a human. Dan you are amazing!!!
It's also my first murph and I did it w/o vest and 10 rounds of 10/20/30... can't complain, 38'59". But looking forward to improve and do it with weighted vest! Awesome what Dan did... pure inspiration!
Ive never completed a full Murph, but I have put in miles under a 100 pound ruck. That last mile grind, alone, had to be killer after the rest of the work out. Excellent job.
Absolutely mind blown. I did a murph with a 50lb pack which took me about 48 minutes and I was wrecked for a few days. I cannot imagine getting through the pull-ups with 100lbs lol. I did modify my murph this year due to battling a strained pec, replace pushups for strict OHP 135lbs! Love the Bible verse my brotha, great job!
Its because of this channel, the 1st Phorm brands, it's athletes and their community is the reason why I started my own fitness channel, to show my fellow gym peers that limits are just levels of difficulties that we're trying to push past and not to settle at.
I'm a disabled veteran, and I'm inspired by what you did today and the Scripture you shared. I had a total hip replacement a year ago this month and I have decided to complete as a "tactical athlete", thank you for the inspiration.
Absolute beast Dan!! Total respect for you and for everyone that did Murph today and for the fallen men and women over the last 250 years! If you get a chance watch Last Survivor if you get a chance, I broke down at the end of it. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Absolutely love it. Dan has always been and will always be my favorite CrossFit athlete. I’m not even a crossfitter. That being said, taking absolutely nothing away from this workout, what I’ve always loved most about Dan is his passion for the Lord. Dan, if you ever get the chance to see this, I would love to request two things. First, would love to see you post again on your channel. Second, if you get at me, I’d love to send you a sweatshirt from my personal Christ focused company. Love you brother!
I did my first Murph 1 month after starting CrossFit at 300 lbs. - Now I'm 100lbs lighter and just did my 6th Murph and I am an L2 Trainer. You just experienced what it's like for obese people to do something like Murph. That's what every day is like when you are significantly overweight. This was absolutely incredible to watch. So inspirational. Mad respect.
This is one of the most inspiring things I have seen. As a Strongman athlete, I know how difficult this is and our cardio is extremely impressive to conduct and complete this journey.
Dan, well done, and thank you! Unfortunately, Veterans, especially SOF guys have a tendency to embellish. Yes, we will carry our ruck which are 100+ lbs to an Objective Rally Point (ORP), which is about 200 to 250m away from an Objective. But then we down everything we don't need, when we are ready to Assault we are probably wearing 20 to 45lbs between: Plate Carrier, 3-4 Mags, Radios, Grenades, and your helmet with NOD's. We spent 20 years at War and learned "ounces equal pounds".
Just did my first Murph and the last couple days have not been pleasant! Happy to have completed it though. The 20lb vest is hard enough, especially for pull ups, can't fathom 100. Very nice Dan!
Insane, I do this one around my recovery date every few years. I’ll stick to 20lbs, one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done by far, got sub 1hr the first time. Dan’s a beast.
That’s impressive. I did MURPH yesterday without a vest, just for fun and it took me just under an hour. I can’t imagine doing it with a 100pounds vest 😅
The physical and mental strength needed for this is almost unfathomable
It reminds me of how hard it is for me to do Murph with RX movements and 50 extra pounds of fat. It totally sucks. 😂
Maybe for you
