The thing about Dead Cells that really made it great was how well it was supported with constant upgrades, both free and paid over many years always improving and expanding the game from its original form. If this sees a similar level of support then it will be amazing but these days it feels like publishers are far more eager to end support as soon as possible.
I know Dead Cells was addicting as hell and the best part I liked about it you don't really mind starting over. They really did a great job at expanding the game for like what 5 years. The DLC was not expensive and I love the face the developers actually rewarded the players for the support. Can't wait for this game to come out.
That plus it has to have depth. A lot of content, build possibilities, variety of biomes (since it's 3D so it'll be more visible if there aren't many), and stuff you can do on the maps. I loved Dead Cells, hope this will see a lot of success too so they can expand it with time.
A game coming out and just being a game without 7 years of support and multi updates every week, hotfixes to fix the hotfixes, and enough fomo to be a day job? Yeah….. I want to go back to the early 2000’s where a game came out, and however it came out was how it was.
Just completed their demo on my steam deck during the current Steam next fest.... Windblown, more like Mindblown. WHAT A GAME!!!!! I love how dash feels like an integral part of basic movement. Holy shit this was unexpected.
windblown doesnt have devs who worked on deadcells, all deadcells devs have branched off doing their own thing or are working on the rogue prince of persia
@@safesafari4806 It actually has some dead cells devs, not everyone but some of them. Dont misspread information like that. I know you dont like what motion twin did, but even if you dont like it you shouldnt say things that are simply not true
At first I thought this was going to be a bit more like Hades, but with the movement and animations, it actually reminds me a lot more of Go Mecha Ball. Without the pinball mechanic, of course. But given Motion Twin's commitment to games - steadily putting out DLC for Dead Cells for like five years - I can only expect this will have a similar level of dedication.
Motion Twin actually left early on, Evil Empire is who took over and gave at least 4 of the last years of support. Motion Twin has an... odd history with games, but I'm hoping this turns it around.
Thanks for showing us this gem! It was absolutely not on my radar and I'm having a blast with the title. Feels already pretty solid and very promising.
the art style feels like a combo of ratchet and clank and skylanders: swap force(which i loved while growing up). And the combat & traversal feels like a matured version of the latter(it’s a 3d action platformer, who would’ve thought, i guess). i like this formula for something that i can actually relax a bit while playing.
Downloaded the demo on next fest it was everything I was hoping for and then some. I have played 1000s of hours of dead cells and I cannot wait for this game.
Not to say the enemy models AREN’T basic, but to me they look like something out of Risk of Rain 2. Is that too far off, or could that have been their reference model?
I really don't like the art style, so I'll give this one a miss, but wish them all the greatest success, as Dead Cells is probably the best Rogue lite ever made.
I miss hyper light drifter so much... I think it will be a long time before a game evokes the emotions that game did for me. Wouldn't it be nice if we could experience things for the first time again.
This game is nothing to a 4090 in terms of performance.. even saying that it runs flawlessly is unnecessary. it comes more like you are boasting your finantial situation than anything else. xD
Nope. You report all performance if you can't. Also pretending a HUGE number of games haven't run great on the 4090 is not only factual wrong, its statistically a huge omission. If there was some...weird, and creepy almost, idea of boosting a financial position, it wouldn't be talking about a single videocard. Thats like 9 year old kids shit for youtube shorts channels.
@@tyler403 in a sense yes and no. When you’ve seen the 50th soulslike game they start to lose their luster. I’ll try to phrase it better: this art style looks like a shallow attempt to do something unique and refreshing, but is achieving neither for me.
@@LautrecOfCarin I can't be the only one who shares this opinion but a lot of these indie games adapt a sort of woke cartoon art style to their games and I'm honestly sick of it.
I gotta say this art style honestly just feels uninteresting to me. It's very generic. This is why I love Supergiant so much, they have a quasi cartoony style, but it's just so damn engaging. Bastion, Transistor, Hades, Pyre, they're all just gorgeous. This makes me want to look away. I honestly expected more from this developer because I loved their style on Dead Cells.
Enjoyed this. It is an odd title in some ways and a departure from the previous title but dug it.

Looks fun, I dig the art style and the mobility, very fast paced.
I simply cannot wait any longer for this…I hope it bangs like Dead Cells did. But in a new and innovative way!

Had no idea this game eevn existed. It took about one minute of gameplay for me to add it to my wishlist.
Thanks for this video, feel like not enough people are talking about it as they should be, definitely gonna be a banger of a game
Appreciate you brother and all you bring to the table for the gaming community! This one's not my cup of tea, but great review regardless. Thanks!!

This looks excellent, let's hope it delivers on the finished product
Haha, nice "I found things about the early access that gave me... pause" love the actual pause in the delivery, cheers
I feel like I saw a preview for this game a while ago and thought it looked super cool then too. Love the unique art style
Another video that would make Daniel Webster give a seal of approval thanks for your hard work and effort
Looking forward to the full release, that dashing reminded me of furi.
I think it looks like a mix of Solar Ash and Hob, mixed with hades. Looking forward to it.
And wishlisted... need to remember to play Dead Cells already purchased on my Deck before I ever buy this.
Dead Cells is special. It may take an hour or two to really click and to understand the difficulty curve, but what a game.
Yeah really excited for this, some crazy good and odd looking art as well as the gameplay looking slick.
Agreed!
Here after the game released, everything he said is straight fax. PLEASE PLAY THIS GAME
Hadn't heard of this but was becoming more interested as the video went on. To the point where I will probably get it when it is out of early access.
Thanks for the review boss!
SUP!
Dead Cells is great but I still don't do early access so imma be looking at this one frome afar until it hits 1.0
The artstyle and the 3D isometric view kinda reminds me of Spiral Knights.
Now I want a Spiral Knights game made by Motion Twin.
Looks cool. I try, but can’t get past the run, die, start over, rinse n repeat of rogue games
just get better
That was a great review, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This looks just like my kind of game, loved Dead Cells!
Windblown looks interesting for sure. Awesome video as always! Thanks, Karak! God bless and stay safe!
Fantastic video

Silent Hill 2??
The art looks great and the movement looks good. Thanks for covering jt
Appreciate the review! 🤙🏿
Any time!
I really dug Dead Cells, so I'm very interested in this one. If that dash feels how it looks this game is going to rock.
I’m havin a blast playin this game on my steam deck 😃
A lot of these roguelikes have awesome art styles.
This game actually looks real solid. Gonna keep my eye on this one
At a certain point, I can't play games that get this fast. WOL is still top tier to me even if I can't clear it consistently.
Been looking forward to this game.
This is the first time i wish i played on PC and not a PS4
Those gorey art pieces heavily reminded me of Happy tree friends, cute animal creatures cutting things up never gets old
Support the dawg!
It looks a lot more like Hades than Dead Cells, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Ill comment a thumbs up 👍🤣
HELLO ACG THANK YOU FOR EXISTING
Looks exciting, would be perfect for steam deck
I love the description of a seven year old describing his dreams to his parents
Looking at the movement makes me think of nex machina
man lubing up this game
Ah yes, the dead souls magic
IT'S A PANGOLIN!!!!!
Reminds me of Furi which is my favorite indie game I really want part 2
Are you by chance doing a shattered space review
Roguelite.
Lite.
LIIIIIIIIITE!!!!
so 10 hr in now and I just want more :D
I watched the whole video, whats this have to do with anyones marriage? I must have missed it, haha.
Unfortunately the steam deck doesn’t perform incredibly. Locking to 40 fps on lowest is probably what you will want to do
So, basically it is the hades 2 i wanted
"...the never ending convayor belt of sisters" why pay for the bread when you could have the whole bakery
Too yeasty
Are you reviewing Silent Hill 2
Sadly no don't have it yet. Tried but failed. And then got code from a smaller dev in the meantime.
@ACG When are we getting a Silent Hill 2 review?
havent played it. Been reviewing something else.

UI looks pretty trash but the rest of the game looks right up my alley
Am I the only one unable to find the steam link page?
Hey man, what happened to your podcast??! 😢
Thanka.
Refunded WoL2 for this.
I don’t play rogue likes at all but this looks amazing. You think hades would be a good first one to play ?
Is this Hyper Light Drifter meets My Little Pony?
he called dead cells dead souls at around 0:37.
Is there a characeter creator, or do you just pick a character an that's that?
It looks like it could be fun but yeah, the character design may just be too annoying to play through. Spectacularly bad.
I miss hyper light drifter so much...

Not over here in Australia.
ha Im not married
Dead souls ?
I broke up with my wife after playing this.

Do you start at the beginning every fricking time like most roguelites? I hate that
the real soul of deadcells is in the rogue prince of persia

Opened the video to see how long it would take for the presenter to say Dead Cells. My summary = 5 seconds.
How original
Ya no one can say they are original. In fact they even stated it in their coverage. Thats how they draw dividing lines.
So technically 0 seconds
I think you speak too slow and the video doesn't cut enough. Could you speed things up a bit?
Rogue-like? No thank you.
