    I just watched about a dozen installation videos and yours is by far one of the
    best. Going to install my set of TechSpec including panniers this
    weekend on my R1200RT. You did a great job! Thanks for posting.

    Great video as always. Can I just use rubbing alcohol to clean the surface?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure, that will be fine. Just let it evaporate before you adhere the grips.

    I notice on the tech spec video for installation they have the emblem logo pointing towards the handle bars and not where you have it by the seat.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They move the logo around from time to time. Especially early on during R&D stages and early development.

      Interesting I wonder why

  • @PEZ1514

    Does it matter if you have Wax or Ceramic coating on the paint before applying the grips?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that the ceramic coatings, as well as the wax ones leave a very slick surface and the glue layer of the grip will not likely bond to that very well. If you want a good bond you will need to remove those coatings from the surfaces you are bonding to.

    I have a 2018 r3 and ordered the right model. Why does my tank pad seem different? Can’t seem to line it up like you

    • @seansaldivar6175
      @seansaldivar6175 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine was as well. Those little white logos on my pads ended up going facing the other way. I kept second-guessing myself saying I must be making a mistake but it seems like the pads are different than the ones in the video

      We can pass this question over to TechSpec USA, the manufacturer, and see what they think about that. We only retail their products.

    It's very hard to find denatured alcohol in Canada. What could I use as a substitute? How about rubbing alcohol?

    • @TSTindustries

      that will work just fine

    Does the adhesive stickyness wear out as time goes by? because you know, they will be exposed to rain, water when cleaning and stuff like that. They will also get dirty, are they hard to clean?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been testing the Snake Skin version on our race R1 for a year now and it held up for me. In racing and track riding they do get loaded more than in street riding, and I had them out in wet and dry as well. I give them a thumbs up. Our buddy MizShift had them on his 1000RR for years without issue. As far as cleaning goes I don't ever see a need to do that. They don't really pick up dirt, or at least not visibly.

    silly question but what was the temp set to on your heat gun?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually use low and move it around quickly without dwelling over any area.

    hi what will i do if i dont have a heat gun. is a hair dryer will do?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +raja mangubat A hair dryer may work as well or you could leave the bike outside in the sun for a few minutes (If the weather is warm enough).

    • @ghinovirata
      @ghinovirata 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TSTindustries i am in a tropical country is that already sufficient? also what is the alternative for denatured alcohol

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +raja mangubat If the outside temperature is above 60°F then you should be good. Any regular rubbing alcohol should do the trick, if not, you could give the surface a good cleaning with soap and water before applying the pads.

    • @Greencoast215
      @Greencoast215 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, hair dryer will work just fine. In most cases a hair dryer can be used instead of a heat gun, it just takes longer. So if you don't have one laying around borrow a hair dryer from your girlfriend or your mother or whoever.

    what size of the tires that you are using for front and rear?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have used a few different sizes on these bikes in our race program. 110 and 120 fronts, 140, 150, 160 rears. My favorite configuration for most tracks is 120/150 on these bikes. For the street I would say stay with the OE sizing unless you know what you're looking for in tires.

    Would this fit my Yamaha MT-03?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do not have the MT03 in our market so there is no way for us to verify this but the tank looks pretty much the same as the R3 so it probably will fit.

  • @HockeyLAKings119
    @HockeyLAKings119 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    What would these really be needed for?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +HockeyLAKings119 The best explanation I can give you is in this video we shot: th-cam.com/video/qnP-eGQ7CoM/w-d-xo.html . In that video we get into all the details of what this setup is used for. We use these on all our bikes because of how significant the improvement of the control over the bike is while using these. You can also follow the link in the description of the video to see the product page and read more.
