      Frappuccino Yes, obviously they deserve that, but realisticly they wouldn't be able to eat a 5 star meal while in combat. I said while they're on the field, not all the time.

      Why are people always moaning about giving someone a tv show? Can't anyone be content with youtube videos... jeezus christ. Content creators are more connected with fans on the internet than on TV. The only thing that's good about a tv show is more money but it doesn't seem like Emmy is money hungry so people need to shutup about tv shows.

    Emmy, I just love all your MRE eatings! At first, I didn't see the appeal, as the food didn't appear to be something I would find myself satisfied eating. But imagining all the creative combinations of items in the full meals and seeing how the military feeds their soldiers in these creative ways is so fun to imagine for me. I love sitting and watching these videos while eating my own snacks. It is so satisfying. Thank you so much. :)

    We call the ends of the bread "bread butts". An after school snack for us as kids was a bread butt sammy which was a bread end with a slice of cheddar cheese or shredded cheese folded in half. Quick, easy, filling, and kids can make them and no stoves are needed.

    Fun to see how IMPs look now. Used to eat them quite a bit in the 1990s. Peanut Butter used to come in a toothpaste-like tube, as did liquid honey. A packet of two chiclet gum pieces was always there. The coffee was just instant and there was a coffee whitener packet and a pack of matches. Food looks similar but never saw lamb on the menu.

    So on the topic of sudden personal interjections, I've struggled with an eating disorder my whole life; and one of the ways I have coped with food stress is having other people describe eating food, rather than eating it. Emmy is the best person I've ever seen/ heard at describing the full experience of a meal, and I love the videos. On the up side, she makes me more interested in actually eating the food, rather than just the vicarious experience.
    EDIT: I just want to add that green is spearmint, not wintergreen. Spearmint is a lovely refreshing taste, and wintergreen is what gives Pepto-Bismol it's flavor. :3

      @TheNZJester 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That colour does exist in Nature, but most of the blue colour used in food however is Blue #2.
      Blue #2 is also the color used to dye jeans blue. It is known as Indigo, which originally comes from the indigo plant and has been used for probably at least 4,000 years as a blue dye. But a lot of Blue #2 is a synthetic version of the original.

    • @dwaynewladyka577
      @dwaynewladyka577 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheNZJester Interesting. I heard from a chef on a cooking show that any food from nature is not really blue. Blueberries are not really blue. They look blue, because of the way the light reflects on their skin. I think he also mentioned that anything with naturally occurring blue is toxic and inedible.

    • @TheNZJester
      @TheNZJester 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well indigo as a color is half way between blue and violet on the color spectrum.

    My mother likes those vanilla Nescafe drinks. They sell those in the supermarkets here in New Zealand, so I'm guessing they are sold in a number of countries. They actually sell a few different flavor types of them.
    A lot of the time my mother gets the caramel or cappuccino flavor versions of those Nescafe individual drink packages.

    The lamb stew reminds me of the lamb stew I had out of a can the other month. Lamb does tend to have quite a different texture and flavor to beef. I also like a nice bit of lamb in an Indian style curry. I quite often get a nice lamb madras curry as a takeaway.

    Well having eaten many of these, I can agree we don't normally eat them hot. If we do its a bonus lol. Rations also come separately with heater packs. Essentially a small plastic bag that uses water to activate some sort of exothermic reaction. I challenge you to try the Breakfast Omelette..... I would say the most unliked IMP you can get lol

    In our house growing up we use to fight for the end slice, but 99% of the time, Dad got it. He would spread massive amounts of Butter on it and eat it just like that. When I was able to get it I would put a little bit of butter and spread a small amount of Vegemite on it. Delish.

    I'd probably dunk that bread into the coffee. Which actually sounds a lot like the instant cappuccino you can buy in Germany. Coffee powder, whitener, some sugar and often flavourings like cocoa or vanilla. Most famous brand is Krüger.
    Or maybe crumble the bread up and cover it with the apple sauce, letting it soak a bit? And then top it off with some of the peanut butter?

    I wonder if the almond in the snickers bar is to accommodate for any Peanut allergies. Might make it easier to standardize for production if they use a substitute like almond for everyone, instead of making special kits for allergies.

    if you let the bread "breath" for a little while it gets a wee bit softer since it is vacuum sealed. we use IMPs for our Scout camps bread is always better after it sits out for a bit! 😀

    Many times when operating in hot climates,desert or jungle,you just put the items to be heated on a hot rock in the sunlight or the outside of a vehicle and wait the twenty minutes and eat a hot Meal!

    As a Canadian veteran, those are the best. You definitely get a lot to get you through training or being in the field all day. They are really hard to find on civilian street but well worth it

    We used to call it the 'pain bread' because it was a pain to eat.
    But, like everything else, if you're hungry enough, it will go downrange!

    Canadian MRE’s in general seem to have the best MRE’s so far. But that PAIN looks scrumptious on its own, especially compared to the other piece of bread from all the their MRE’s. 🍞🥖

    The almond Snickers could be added to have something different from the PB. They are hard to find here but I love em when I can find it.

    You need to try the pork and beans ones of the IMP’s and/or the vintage ones as the PB is in a toothpaste tube

    If you like peppermint, make some peppermint sauce. Add a teaspoon of red chili flakes to a jar of mint sauce (NOT jelly), stir in and leave for a couple of days. Great with lamb and does wonders for hamburgers to.

    Those little wet wipe sachet, I remember a long while ago my mum ordered KFC and we got those wet wipe sachets, my younger brother who was like 7 at the time thought it was gum. He put it straight in his mouth and straight away knew he made a mistake xD
