This challenge is a reminder why a normal match in this game is 4v4
2v2 can be one of, if not the, most fun types of team battles, but holy heck it can be the most stressful and difficult thing to perfectly play around only one other teammate. Its like having two lives but your other life is frantically running around at the same time as your current life, and if it dies its on you to stay alive for it and vice versa.
@@MeloniestNeonor in other words, if either you or your teammate are down then that would make half of your team down already instead of a quarter down.
I hear that cause if you get unlucky and get a teammate that has no idea what they're doing its basically wraps at least with teams of 4 there is room for error and one person can afford to not be as advanced as everyone else
It was pretty boring for me maybe because I’m not anywhere near to being a pro at the game
These maps feel so big with only two people on them.
They really need to make these challenges 4 hours long. Me and a buddy played last night, and we'll probably play again this afternoon, but usually for these challenges, I can barely play during these events; I just got lucky with this one.

I had so much fun during the last challenge (random weapons) because nobody knew how to play their weapon. I kinda wish challenges were always open and switched rules every 2 hours like normal modes.
I think this is probably the 2nd best game mode, right behind Trizookas. The amount that some weapon and special dynamics change when you throw them into a 2 v 2 environment is crazy. It's so much fun
The dynamic and weapon advantages change so much with 2v2 that it's sinful that it's not a full-time mode.
Playing this challenge in solo queue has made me a worse person
Honestly this was an amazing challenge, even in solo que. The only bad thing was the lack of comms in solo but other than that it's the beat so far easuly
I played it with my friend and it was so fun
it feels like a charger is a handicap in this format. If the other teammate’s dead, charger can’t hold for the team, even if the map design helps them.
Me and my friend played the entire time and it was the only time we didnt get tired of playing during the whole duration of a challenge. We main inkbrush so we used it for the last few matches and let me tell you it was really fun obliterating people
I still haven't been able to tryout any of the challenges. They're all at inconvenient times for me.
I didn’t get to play this yet. I’m definitely gonna play this afternoon, but I didn’t even get to play the last fog challenge. They need to make the challenges more prevalent for people who don’t have all day open to play the game. Seriously man, 2 hours every week for these fun specific game modes that if we miss, won’t be able to participate in until they bring it back in the far future, ain’t enough 😭
Doubles in any game will always be competitive. It's it's the simplest form of coordination you can possibly have, without having to worry about extra players or teammates. It all comes down to what team could work together the best

me and my friend practiced for this, and we haven’t even started it yet starting later, but i agree there should TOTALLY be a permanent 2v2 mode, i would love that!
This was super fun. I was running around with the zimy while my friend ran the splash, and we made a good team
The Heavy Deco was so much fun for this challenge. Great tower rider, and kraken to push with if your teammate needs to be on tower more. And a not bad frontline in a 2v2 enviroment :)
I actually had fun with this challenge. I could see it make a return
Luckily, in solo, I was frequently paired with good players. One carried me, 17 - 4 😅 It was so much fun and I actually won more than I lost.

My friend and I were playing dualies and nsplash, respectively, and it's crazy the constant baton passing of 'I ride, you ride'

I swear I was wanting to absolutely kill my teammates sometimes like one of them was whenever I was using gal so I could easily get out front and was taking out the two on the other team, but this damn range blaster didn’t want to hop onto the tower while I was wiping out the two AND STILL LOST CAUSE I HAD TO TAKE THE TOWER AND THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW TO KILL
Me and my friend did this weird como where i would play hyper agressive n-zap with cooler constantly up and he would play tri stringer and help me from tower while i just went in like a tetras and slayed out
Idk I loved this challenge so much. I loved playing in the back as snipewriter and getting constant wipeouts

I had considered running tetra for the challenge, but decided against it because i figured the specials would be pretty important

This looks fun vs what I experienced which was a bunch of bomb spammers and players spamming splash walls and bubblers the entire time vs actually fighting
I played that too and I thought splatanas were very much cheese cause the mode was tower
I'm watching this to cool down after playing challenges, I'm having tons of fun but in one game we had one point to go and we lost in overtime. I face palmer so hard I slapped my face 😭
the most stressful thing especially in this challenge is when it goes into overtime
It had to be brinewater and hammerbead
having dodge roll as an ability is a life save for this mode
I haven’t played this one yet but I have high hope for it

Sorry for the dumb question, but this has been bugging me for a while: how do you get discord and game audio to come through at the same time? Does it require a capture card?
That's how I do it. I listen to the game audio through my capture card software. There are other ways to do it though, such as an audio splitter
@@Chase247 thanks for the advice man. I got an audio splitter, but it’s not working, it seems to only take audio from one side at a time instead of both at once. I’ll see if I can find a cheap capture card I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does anyone know where u can look up the stats on when u reach each tier. Like when u get top 20%, etc? Or just a guess on what u have to reach. Kind of curious. 😀
There is no way to check until after a rotation is over sadly.

I was playing with a comp teammate and we were struggling, even against players we likely could've beaten with our whole team in 4v4s. Any special tips for this mode?
just make sure you guys coordinate who needs to ride and dont have one person push enemies when one of you is dead. try to coordinate specials as well and having something that stalls like booyah or strikes is really nice

2500 WHAT?!?!?! pls someone tell me how, in calculating i won 3 of 5 matches and was put in 1800 or something and i was winning MOST games and ended on 2000, seems impossible to reach that high, do you really need to win everything to reach that? if so thats crazy
It depends on the teams you're getting put against and your teams "secret power" (everyone has a secret power which is based on win/loss ratio of ranked modes/turf war) if your secret power is high you'll calc higher. We calced at 2350 for going 3/5

How do you even play challenges?
they are only available at specific time frames for 2 hours at a time. it's very dumb. the only place where they announce when the challenges will be is on the official splatoon twitter

Im sorry for all that like this but what did you do Nintendo? letting A- players play against X and that crap is just unfair, so yea i find that this stuff is just annoying for casual players to play against sweaters that dont do anything else than pkaying this game so yea you might see that im pissed of about challenges (my opinion)

If you can actually get in the crap I wash this mode was just permanent this boring game is in desperate need of new modes
