Indian Art Journal You Should Try || Zen Sangam Watercolor Art Journal || Honest Review ||

In this video, I would be reviewing a watercolour paper art journal by Zen Sangam. This journal is A5 size, landscape format and contains 50 pages of 245 GSM, 20% cotton, cold pressed watercolour paper.
The paper claims to be suitable for use with Watercolor, Acrylic, Mixed Media, Oil Pastels and may be used easily for wet media techniques.
A stitch bound journal like this is also available in A6 landscape, A4 landscape and square of dimension 20*20 cms. Zen Sangam also has a spiral bound version of these available in multiple sizes with Micro Perforation for Easy Tear off.

Excellent review as usual. Having used this journal I too found it perfect for watercolour sketching. I suspect that the paper used is the Fabriano student range which is very good for the purpose. Thank you .

This was a great review, I'm watching this after buying the book 😅 but my watercolors rnt working smoothly, they r leaving little dots , water texture and white torn like texture , can u give some tips?

This paper does have a rough texture. Maybe your painting style required the use of cold press paper?

Yes. This paper is very difficult to work with for watercolour paintings. It took me much effort to get around its many deficiencies.

Here are a few tips for watercolouring upon this paper:
1. Keep your pencil sketches minimum. Use your eraser minimally upon the paper. The paper becomes weak and uneven when rubbed upon.
2 The paper is not fit for layering much. Restrict yourself to two or three layers.
3. The paper is poorly suited for granulation, colour separation, etc.
4. If allowable, paint in thick gouache-like layers.

Paper is textured and not smooth. It would depend on the effect you want to create but it’s possible to use oil pastels.
