    3:44 is super useful because every other tutorial I've seen mentioned Lightning Sync and nobody addressed that it isn't available anymore. Also, Chrome seems to work now, at least for me. I am having issues with figuring out how to add it to my toolbar.

    You mentioned in the video that you can customize what objects show up in the list when you select log an email by customizing publisher layouts and assign those by different profiles. I was not able to figure this out. Can you provide guidance or create a video to show this? I have a lot of objects I would like to remove from the list or even sort the order of them

    Great video! While creating the Evevt from outlook to salesforce, it is not capturing the correct time stamp from the opened email. Is it expected? Or is there any configuration required to capture this?

      THanks Deepak! Unfortunately I'm not that clever sorry. I don't do coding, but sounds like you might be able to answer that question better than me? Best of luck with it. I'm sure there might be an article out there somewhere (or forum) to help :)

    Thank you for this great video. May I ask how did you add "Activity" tab on the record page. Mine does not have that tab.

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So you can add a 'Timeline' component to the page (lightning) or just create your own Tab in the Lighning Page editor. Click on the area with a tab and in the right you'll see the abilty to add a new tab. Hope I understood that correctly :)

    hi Adam, Thank you for your video first of all. it was very helpful. By any chance do you know to track those emails in salesforce? Let's say I want to get a list of contacts (with some other email details) whom I and other my team members emailed to. How can I get this information in SalesForce and make a dashboard.? Thank you in advance.

    Great video! One thing I'm curious about is what (if any features) are available when you're making a calendar event in the Outlook Calendar. Are you able to create a meeting and then have it associate with a contact/account/opportunity?

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! Yes, with the integration you get a sidebar pop out in the Outlook application and there you'll be able to sync calendar events or find a contact to create an event against. :)

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  ปีที่แล้ว

      :?
      To be honest they changed it quite a lot. When I started out (in Classic) it was just a case of installing the application and it worked but they changed it to a paid license for the full thing and then this more lightweight version for free. Let me know what you find :)

    Regarding Einstein Activity Capture,
    I have implemented EAC into a testing environment and I am having the hardest time trying to prevent it from syncing every new email it detects with every single record that the contact is associated with. If I have 3 different opportunities going for a single contact, I don't want all 3 email threads ending up on all 3 opportunities.
    Is there a way to configure EAC so that emails ONLY associate with the record that the email was sent from - or if an email comes in without any context it can just sit on the Contact record's activity timeline (and, again, not be on any related records like the Opportunities).
    I have followed countless tutorials and have been skimming through any SF help article that mentions EAC. I'm not seeing anything about turning off this overly-aggressive association, but (even more frustratingly) I can't even find anything that tells me that I can't do this.
    Would greatly appreciate any insight!

    Thanks for the video. We are choosing not to mass import contacts. Can contacts be added from the Outlook Contacts area to SF manually? Also, when a contact is updated in Outlook, will that contact be updated in Salesforce?

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, no - the contact won't update in both places if, by update, you mean the Salesforce record and the Outlook Contact record? Using the Salesforce plugin, you can manually chose to move an email to a contact or account record in Salesforce one by one, yes. :)

    Thanks. This has helped me understand how this plugin works. One of our users has reported that they can no longer use the plug in. It seems they used to just go straight in ... With authentication ..., but now it is asking them to login with password and they say it just hangs and won't go in. I do know another admin has recently changed web page Salesforce login so the user chooses SSO or password login. Would this be causing it? And how can we make SSO default for the plugin? Thanks

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions. My recommendation (without it sounding a cop-out) would be to raise a Salesforce Support Case so they can have a proper look behind the scenes...see if there is a setup or permissions issue or a firewall/connection thing preventing it working. Hope you get is sorted - let us know here if you do and the outcome/remedy. :)

  • @susanrowland4950
    @susanrowland4950 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks. We are using EAC but how do the reply email come back into EAC. .SF told me I have to take my long service email address and BCC it in my Outlook contact in order to track the reply into the EAC. BUT, how would the reply sender know to REPLY TO ALL in order to capture the BCC email address? What am I missing?

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah good point. There is 100% no way a customer (or anyone) is going to even know there is a BCC there in the first place let alone reply all. The answer has to be either the reply to email is routed through to Salesforce OR you'll have to setup an Email Relay perhaps? I'd go back to them with the problem and get them to give you a better solution. If you're using Cases (as part of a support function for users) then check this out, might help too: help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000386017&type=1
      As long as you are using the 'support' email as the sending email (the one registered in Salesforce for use) then it will route back into Salesforce without the BCC needed. You also need the thread in the subject if wanting it to map to a Case.

      This works for the desktop version too. It's a plugin/add-on to the exchange client. Salesforce are changing things all the time so best to check out the latest supported versions on their site here: help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.outlookcrm_user_setup.htm&type=5

    Salesforce SUCKS. It's decommissioning the only thing we've used that hasn't broken over the years, the Salesforce Outlook Add-In. Now we have to configure our Office 365 Exchange server manually. Salesforce is an absolute joke of a company with a crappy product. I cannot figure out why it's so popular.
