I would like to thank you for creating this video in which pellucidly you explain the workings (or lack )of the OBD II and power potential causes for fault errors. This has helped me tremendously especially with the pin diagram and highlighting that the potential fault culprit could be the control module. I recently noticed the amber engine light coming on so bought an OBD-II scanner (Topdon Topscan pro) it set up ok and did an initial scan on my 2016 Corsa E with errors P0171 + U0401 +U0077 which pointed towards my Evap valve, the problem is I wanted to double check the codes and see if I could run a live scan but when I tried to pair I kept getting 'couldn't connect, check Bluetooth connection, eventually getting the connection but then when I try to scan it only gives me 3 options where the first time it gave me around 40? The connector light turns red when connected and I can now eventually get Bluetooth to work, but as I said in scanning I'm only getting a couple of options and its not giving me any information. In your opinion is this the fault of the OBD-II scanner or the OBD port/faulty controller module? I have subscribed hoping to see and learn more. Kind regards. Hugh
Yes my OBD port doesn't work on my Mercedes a180 2014. I'm starting to think that that it might be the battery .I don't know how low it goes before it shuts you out of all operations on the ignition and ESL and ignition barrel no response..with a new battery it might jump in to life hey???great video
@@MrMugenwii no I haven't really tried though. I'm thinking it could be a bad ground but I don't know for sure especially because I have power just no communication. I would assume that no ground would lead to no power. I have checked the connector all the openings are tight so it not a lose connection either. I guess it's a common problem let me know if you come up with anything.
Im having the same issue with power and no connection and I watched every video available on YT. Every video is saying check to voltage and fuse. However if it’s the voltage or fuse why does the scanner still power up?
Because we all got ripped off and bought a crappy scanner. Our vehicles are fine it's the youcanic scanner that doesn't work and gives us all the same message. Absolute waste of money.
I had an Ignition Interlock Device from Intoxalock installed on my vehicle several years ago, it has since been removed, but I can no longer access my OBD2 port.
My car is Tucson 2007 and the protocol is ISO14230-4 kwp fast, when I select car protocol manually stell can't get any live data on torque app, even though I can read car error codes normally, any tips to solve my problem?
i can connect to my engine with scaner but cant connect to central elec. i have no power on can low/high or K line V is jumping betwen 0.5V and 3V resistor is 60ohm
How make obd car port fast tester because one time i test 1990 nissan patrol swap with lumina v8 engine but all OBD wires was wrong and my expensive scantol makes smoke 😢 so my advice dont use scantol before test obd all pin powers and ask car owners is the engine swaped

Waste of money. Works on diagnostic but when you go to maintenance to try and reset/ fix any codes it just says no communication. Seems like many people get this. It's not your car it's the junk scanner. Go elsewhere don't waste your money.

Did you end up finding the issue? I have power to mine but no communication as well. I’m thinking it’s the ECU
@@jonnilynnsavard6789 yeah sounds like ecu did you replace it ?
I have power going to everything but my scanner tells me there’s no information or it’s not connected any tips?
12v wire fault, check the fuse for power, if it was it.

Same issue here

That doesn't help if you have power but no communication.
Exactly that's my issue and I can find an answer.

My stabilitrack light comes on when I hook up diagnostic tool to the OBD 2
