I just started using my fan for the summer, and had rainout for the first time. Should I lower the humidity to stop the rainout? I didn’t hear you talk about adjusting the machine. The room temperature can’t be changed, and the fan is needed at night. Thanks.
This guy is the best! He explains everything so easily ! I love all his videos and thanks to him I have solved a lot of issues I had while using the CPAP machine .
Thank you so much. I thought my machine was broken. It's been waking me up popping and having water run out. Searched it on you tube and this video and a few others came up. It helped so much. Lucky I had a heated tube on hand. Thank you again.
Thank you for explaining! I kept reading that I should lower my tube temp to stop rainout. Watched this last night and for the first time this fall i slept great! No rainout, no dry mouth/nose !
Thank you for explaining all this, rainout has been driving me up the wall and ruining many a night's sleep. Now that I know what the problem is, I can try and solve it. Very educational vid!
Thank you very very much for taking the time to explain everything last night was my second night using my CPAP machine and water was coming out of my mask and I freaked out not understanding what was going on thank you for explaining everything it’s people like you that help people like me to learn how to use my CPAP machine correctly God bless
Thank you very much for an excellent explanation for the rainout in the tube , which makes perfectly good sense. Will heed your advice and be aware of enviromental weather changes affecting my CPAP tubing .
Lots of helpful information. I’m in tundra of Minnesota and I’m battling dry mouth every morning. I’ve invested in tube sock and it’s a heated tube I will be dancing around but changing fixed to adaptive on heat settings

Thanks Carl, it's mainly for hygiene reasons and also helps keep the water chamber clean. I know a lot of people who don't do this however haha. It's up to you mate. Nicko
heated tube turned machine off a few times a night... was fine with that, hate breathing warm air. I still get rainout, hate that more than warm air. unsure what to do with the thing, maybe get a nice neck hole to breathe through.
Hi Dave, yeah it can certainly be a bit tricky. Unfortunately it can be hard to get good humidity levels without warming up the air ( cold air can't keep moisture as vapour as it condensates). You can try keeping your machine close to the ground as any water condensation will then drip back down into the humidifier chamber. I did do a new video on humidification if you have time to watch. A bit more informative - th-cam.com/video/79redmNSwmg/w-d-xo.html
Hi Nick I find your videos informative thank you. My problem is now I have my own machine and a heated tube the tank is empty in the morning and my AHI has increased being still below 5 though. My tubing is under my pillows and I have a heater in my bedroom the tank always has condensation in it would that be why the tank is empty in the morning. I’m using a Resmed air sense 10 elite fixed.
Thanks Nick I reckon you may have just saved my Sanity, I have suffered from Rainout for months (since moving to Mackay) makes sense now LOL. OMG Hallelujah , Hopefully i can some good nights sleep now . Quick question i have an Icon Plus and i recon the heated tube is cactus how can i verify this? Cheers Andrew K, in a very wet and Humid Mackay
Hi Andrew, welcome mate. I believe there's an error log on the icon plus that you can access in the clinical menu th-cam.com/video/gwfyQsQcg0U/w-d-xo.html or you could put your tube in the fridge so it's cold and then take it out and put it on your machine and after a few minutes feel it to see if it has warmed up. You should be able to feel it gently warm with your hand after a few minutes. All the best. Nick

My problem is with an accumulation of water in the humidifier basin, so under the water chamber / on and around the heating element. At first, i thought my water chamber was broken (there was some cracks under), so i bought a new one, only to find the same problem the morning after using the new water chamber. There is no danger of having water directly on the heating element?
If I'm getting rainout should I increase or decrease humidification? I have a fisher & paykel sleepstyle auto and unsure if I can adjust the tubing temp. Not wanting to put an electric heater on if I can avoid it. Thanks
The problem I am having the last 2 days is that the water when I put on the machine is on the top level and 3 hours later is completely empty and that never happened to me before, listening to you I am going to check the humidity and see if is that, thank you very much as always you been very helpful
Hi Emma, glad you found it useful. If you don't have a heated tube on your machine google 'hybernite heated tube system' or you can also get a insulated tube cover 'tube cosy for cpap'. Cheers
Ty just wondering... how to avoid water getting under the water basin on top of the heating element. The water basin does not have any holes in it. ty in advance. W have bought a new water basin as well.
Sorry again to bother you but now I am having like you’re explaining water coming to my mask, I understand about cold room and condensation but I have the CPAP fro more than 3 years and this situation never happened until now and as far as I know there ir nothing new happening either. I am having my air conditioning on because is hot outside my humidifier is in #3 and I change it for 2 but I still don understand,
Hi Sirena, firstly you are never bothering me and i'm always happy to help :-). I think that your aircon probably has something to do with it! If you are making your room temp cold then you are going to run into issues with humidification as the warm, moist air will condensate. Here's an updated video which will help - th-cam.com/video/79redmNSwmg/w-d-xo.html You should try an heated tube system also - amzn.to/3uopJV9 . This will solve all your problems
I keep the air on in my room. I have to be cold in order to avoid having a migraine. What's the best thing for me to do. I tried putting the tubing under the pillow but forget when I get up and I can't move
Hi Antoinette, does your machine have a heated tube? If it does make sure that the temp on the tube is turned up. If you don't have a heated tube consider buying a universal heated tube system such as hybernite amzn.to/3e5dAOj . The only other option is to decrease your humidification levels on your device so that there's not as much water in the air :-). Getting a heated tube will not make you more warm, it will just take the cold off the tubing :-). You could also look at getting a tube wrap amzn.to/380o3d1 which is just an insulated covering for the tube :)
@@CPAPReviews I think it is a heated tubing. I see some reddish lining in the tubing which I think could be for heating. So you're saying I have to get a better heated tube, turn down the humidifier or get a warp for the tubing. The wrap is cheaper and I may have to get it. Also wouldn't turning down the humidifier mess with it. I thought I needed the heat so it can work better or is that a preference

I don't use the humidifier (I have never put water in it), still, water accumulates in the tube. This is extremely annoying and keeps me awake. I put the machine on the ground, this makes no difference.
