Brilliant teaching ✨Thank you Father Broom for helping us to understand our beautiful faith. Baptized when I was a baby, educated in Catholic Schools still my ignorance is astonishing .
Fr Broom you are fantastic. What book do you recommend for a general confession. I have made them before first vows and final vows specifically. Also, after making an Ignatian retreat.
I know this may be a long-shot Father, but is there any way to get in direct contact with you? I have been battling scrupulosity for a couple years now, and it's been pretty devastating to me spiritually. It's to the point where I haven't received Holy Communion in 9 months, or been to confession in 4 months because of it. I'm at the point of desperation, which led me to make this comment. If willing, it would truly mean so much to potentially get in touch somehow to further discuss this dilemma!
Thanks for sharing. Father Broom addresses this in his video titled "What happens to your soul when you receive Holy Communion". I think you will find what he has to say useful in your current situation.
I once went to a lent communal confession. There were at least eight Priest there. I saw a kind looking older Priest and got in line for Him, gave a good detailed confession. He absolved me in a very loud voice. I think He has poor hearing and did not hear a word. Am I covered? lol
i'm 38 years old, cradle catholic, had all the sacraments through confirmation; never married, no kids, just a lapsed dirt bag old catholic with decades of substance abuse and fornication, how do I go back?
Our God is rich in mercy! Jesus I trust in You! Find a good Examination of Conscience, prepare well for the Sacrament of Confession, and simply walk into the confessional and go to Confession! In the Confessional Jesus himself waits for you, and His Precious Blood will leave your soul white as snow. You will experience the joy of the sons and daughters of God. Go to confession as often as you can. Know that we are offering prayers for you! Let me know if you need a good examination of conscience.

May I also suggest Fr Chris Alars “keeping the faith series” on you tube. I learned more through that series than 12 years of Catholic school.
Thank you Father for your honesty, openness and teachings
