Not only was I glued to this video but so was my 3 year old granddaughter ! Thanks for the entertainment and for her introduction to railroad videos. Fun having something we can do together!
Outstanding! The combination of your videography, the level of detail about what we're seeing and your enthusiasm is really captivating. Good job getting your new friend to join you in the signature signoff. Stay safe and have a great day.
Another excellent video Rowan. I really appreciate your efforts to ID trains and origin/destination. Does anyone know what material is transported in those containers at 2:51? Appears to be some liquid, but presumably it comes from overseas. Looks like a great way to relax on the 4th!
Another great educational & entertaining video Rowan. Surprised to see the longer containers on top of the short ones? I would have thought the longer ones on the bottom for stability and balance. Oh well, just goes to show I do not know what I am doing 😅
Very enjoyable video. This is one of my favorite train watching locations. I live a few miles away in Hagerstown, MD & often stop by the Junction for a day of action.
Thanks for this video!. Really made up for my first “official” railfanning day yesterday. I saw Zero (ok, 4 MARC trains..eh) on the CSX sub near me... train traffic can be a weird phenomenon. I’ve seen more trains going to the store some days. Haha. Finally got into it as a serious hobby after waiting 25 years.
At 11:36 NS 9650 and 9630 are leading an intermodal train. The day before this was filmed, I caught a train heading eastbound into PA from ohio with those 2 units on the front, and NS 4004 trailing 3rd.
I was surprised with the amount of traffic on a holiday. The exposed auto racks of the 70's had minimal graffiti unlike today. They were an open target for mischief, with rocks thrown at the cars and other vandalism issues.
I used to work for a dealership in the detailing and body shop. Closing the car also reduced pitting in the paint caused by, believe it or not, brake dust from the train's brakes.
It’s great to see young people enjoying the great Hobby of Railfanning! You may have covered this before but what scanner and antenna do you use when watching? Thanks Stay Safe 😷😷
If you ever have the chance I have 2 locations for you to visit in Ohio. They are really close to each other but still have tons of action(usually) all day long. The iron triangle railroad park in Fostoria Ohio and Railroad park in Deshler Ohio (the crossroads of the B&O RR). I have videos from both these locations if you would like to check them out just look at my Trains of Ohio Playlist
Hey Rowan! Just to let you know the train destinations for 2 of the trains are different stated in your video. Not to throw any hate or shame towards you lol. Q135 now I135, runs from Portsmouth Virginia to North Baltimore Ohio, and Q137 now I137, runs from Baltimore MD to Chicago Illinois. Just letting you know!
What time did you leave because there are 4 more trains going eastbound witch is q415 q138 q372 and a coal train and there is two westbounds empty coal train and amtrak
I gotta ask how you get the info on these trains, I can never understand the symbols properly of their origin and destination. I just recently posted a mixed freight, I know it's either 153 or 154, just can't ever tell them apart though.
regarding the auto racks they did that also due to vandalism bricks dropped on new cars from over pass as the trains passed below. or braking into the cars and stealing parts. there was too much loss and damages caused during the transportation from the factory to dealer. the enclosed auto rack corrected that issue. those sets of cars to transport the autos are on a tight schedule for on time delivery for the customer.
Excuse me excuse me I live on the Cumberland sub and also I have been to Hagerstown and I am seeing the Hagerstown sub The Cumberland sub goes Through my farm in Morgan County West Virginia
Not only was I glued to this video but so was my 3 year old granddaughter ! Thanks for the entertainment and for her introduction to railroad videos. Fun having something we can do together!
That's so cool, glad she likes it Jeff!!
This like watching a model train exhibit - come to life ! Cool spot to catch trains from different ways. Luv camera work and colors.
Outstanding! The combination of your videography, the level of detail about what we're seeing and your enthusiasm is really captivating. Good job getting your new friend to join you in the signature signoff. Stay safe and have a great day.
I love including people in on the fun and the action, thanks for your continued support james!!
I loved rail fanning there! Last time I was there, NS had MOW cars parked on the interchange. Great to see it again. Thanks for posting.
The auto rack... its gotta be the, "Official rail car of the state of Michigan." We're filthy with them here!
Great vids Rowan!!!
Love that NS goes OVER CSX! the way it should always be!
Hahahaa dang right
Actually going on my first ever Amtrak trip this weekend from Petersburg, Va to DC. I am really excited!
Awesome catches Rowan! I love CSX's territory, keep up the good work

Nice catches! Love the view of the bridge going over the tracks!
It's a great spot!!
I have a good friend that lives in Ranson WV. He was raised in Shenandoah Junction. Ranson isn't far down the road.
Rowan, I'm really fond of your enthusiasm for railroading.
Why thank you
Nice video ... If I'm not mistaken the NS 13R originates in Binghamton, NY. and then goes to Enola, and Hagerstown
Enola is the symbols origin, a piece of the train itself might originate a New York
Very cool video!! The camera was worked very well. Nice pans and zoom outs!
Thank you!!
I love the way that NS crosses CSX there pretty cool video
That's a realy gorgeous backdrop to film trains. Good job.
That outfit looks good on you, happy summertime Rowan, stay safe and keep well!
cool... reminds me of Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat.. hahaha...
Nice trains awesome videos stay safe god and Happy Foaming!!!!!!!

Believe it or not Rowan I see a lot of CSX trains leave from Charleston SC on a daily basis.
I believe it
@@RailfanRowan a majority of the consists are the auto haulers. But there is also mixed freight too.

Great catch Rowan.
It’s great to see young people enjoying the great Hobby of Railfanning! You may have covered this before but what scanner and antenna do you use when watching? Thanks Stay Safe 😷😷
Thanks, please check my account
Railfan Rowan hi I checked your about account and don’t see the answer.
I think the sides on the racks was more due to broken windows from thrown rocks.
That too, damage in general is more avoidable
Good spot to video! Thanks for sharing!
I love it, you're welcome
Always curious where freight trains originate and end.
Rowan I really want to meet you and go railfanning together, overall great video and happy filming!!
Thanks Jacob, maybe one day!!

cool content
Those long containers balanced on top of the shorter ones always look slightly disconcerting to me.
Do you know how many vehicles fit in one Auto Rack car?
I have ONE silly question.... What's a "Foamer" and where did that come from? :P
Foamer is someone who foams at the mouth over trains, a term of bullying that has become a personal term of endearment
Started by railroad employees
Not much csx in rowan video
I’m a railfan im a Cobb County railfan I get a lot of Norfolk southern rare CSX
Loved the video
How do you know when and what is coming?
Good luck
Man an all auto rack train don’t see that much
What is the name of radio for RR listing
CSX 366 cought on fire in 2016 and had the "Chessie system" sticker but lost it because of the fire
What time did you leave because there are 4 more trains going eastbound witch is q415 q138 q372 and a coal train and there is two westbounds empty coal train and amtrak
I left around 3-4
@@RailfanRowan those train start to come at 430-5

A little help from friends, but there are resources in the descriptions
@@RailfanRowan I see. That does help, thanks.
