If Retro-Bit was allowed to make that Sega Saturn Pro Controller slightly wide enough then the Dual Analog sticks could be a bit further apart like the PS4 controller. Otherwise the dual analog sticks are so close that playing games that uses these alot while using this controller can easily clash our thumbs without even trying & It's best to just play games that mostly makes less use of the DA-sticks OR Games that mostly use the left analog stick on this controller for those certain/specific games, IMO. I play games that uses DA-sticks alot using different controllers & Trying to play DA-stick games with this SSPC isn't going to cut it. I placed concave rubber grips on the DA's that's made for the nintendo switch joycons as they fit well on this SSPC where there's no need to mod a different set of sticks on 'em. I never put these on the N-Switch joycons since I always use N-Switch pro controller playing games on it. Some of the games I played on PC with the 2 LED light setting (Start+B) on the SSPC, There seems to be a random left analog stick-drift problems that happens along with many who noticed this while using the 3D control mode with this controller while playing certain Sega Saturn games. Hopefully the firmware update Retro-Bit working on will address/fix these problems, etc.
I hear ya. I only tested it on the Saturn, Evercade, and N64 emulation. I use my ps5 controller for pc gaming so I haven't ran into that issue. That absolutely needs to get addressed. I'm going to pin this.
@@Dariothehungry Guess its more of a 50/50, Some of us can work with controllers with DA-Sticks so close together and Some of us who can't where we prefer to use controllers that don't have the DA-Sticks so close together like the ones on the SSPC. Another 50/50 can depend on a size-of-the-hands or reach-of-the-5-fingers-on-a-person's-hands as well when holding any controllers.
@@Dariothehungry More about the 3D control mode (/ Hold Start+B setting), Some are also having issues with some games along with many SS games like NiGHTs where they can't air brake while using this on the SSPC along with the triggers not being analog triggers leading to some/certain games that would require analog triggers in order to play those games. Hopefully all can be fixed within the firmware update. As for the hardware issues unfortunately those can't be fixed within a firmware update as at some point we might see a v2 version of this SSPC that will address these problems.
Even though I'm not a fan of the Sony style positioning of the sticks I do like how they were able to squeeze them in there and still maintain the form of the Saturn pad more or less. I actually use a Fusion fightpad for the Switch whenever I'm playin retro/indie games and I gotta say nothin beats the Sega Saturn form factor.. it truly is the most comfortable controller for older games. Big Bug! fan, btw.
Without analog triggers is a really bad flaw of this product.... I would say a BlueRetro Saturn adapter is better than this. You can use your Xbox or Playstation controller and the analog stick and triggers runs great! For those who just want the awesome Saturn d-pad and button layout, just get the regular Retro-bit Sega Saturn controller, I don't think this upgrade worth the extra $30
Might just be the two I tested but the dpad and buttons are highly unreliable on the regular retrobit and why i recommend the "genesis" 8 bitdo one. After testing this on various games everything worked flawlessly. You bring a good point about the saturn adapter. I haven't tried this myself with other controllers as you mentioned. Now if 8bitdo could do a version with dual analogues I would... buy it in a heart beat.

In addition to what you said, I wanted to point out I haven't had any issues with my thumbs clashing.

So many memories as I replayed it for the video!
I agree though, the Saturn form factor is my favorite.
This guy SEGAs.
Ha ha ha, I do love me some Sega
Oh damn, didn’t realize this controller has joysticks
Works pretty good as an N64 controller lol
The handles need to be longer.
Holding the controller leaves way too much empty space in ur palms
This definitely caters to the Sega people, have you messed with the 8bitdo pro 2?

Those damn analogs need to be pushed up a bit more .
They always do this stink ass design with their controllers .
Lol, fair enough. I'm guessing your not a PS controller fan. What do you think of their Xbox like controller
