I’m getting established tomorrow and I was so curious as to how it’s actually done and this video was great for me to see a up close and personal view. Thank You!
I'm loc'd. I've got microlocs. My locs turned 3 months last week. This is my second set tho. With my first, I combed them out after 6 months. I wasn't okay with how they were turning out. I wanted smaller locs. So I did the second install myself. Took me 4 days tho. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. Oh and I use 2 point because it's the easiest for me. 😊😊
I finally found the perfect video to start my sisterlocks journey, because I have a lot of hair and long already, they want to charge me $1500.00. And I see why and the time it takes. But I'll do mine. Really detailing
I was quoted that also in march but that was a sisterlocks consultation. NEVER HONESTLY WANTED ANY ONE TO INSTALL JUST WANTED ASSISTANCE OR SUPPORT WHILST DOING
Hi, I want to install my own locs as well. Would you consider posting a video, because my concern is parting my hair in the back and controlling the sectioned hair as I'm locking it. Thank you
I work on my daughters locs. A friend in Ghana got them started when we lived there. She took a few out when she was younger and I want to fix those areas. She loves her locs and her hair is really coily like yours. So helpful to see how you start with your fingers.
I was doing my research and came across your video. Your mom did such an amazing job! I do appreciate this video! Actually, Im getting ready to start my loc journey. I just have to find someone that knows what they are doing..
Im going to get micro locs and I’m excited I’m only 16 and I think it’ll be a perfect style for when I’m older, I wish I got them when I was younger but thanks for the tutorial 😊
I am 2-days microloced! So I have a long way to go..lol. But I'm going to enjoy this journey and process. I also have 4C hair so I can't wait to see how fast my hair will actually loc!
This is super helpful, thank you kindly! I did not understand what was being done to start the loc prior to the tool being used; but, your explanation plus the up close visual makes so much sense! 😍👏🏽❤️🙌🏽❤️ Your Mom is quite talented/skilled/patient/loving and wonderful! 👏🏽😊 Peace and blessings to you, your Mom, and the rest of your family! ✌🏽🧡💛
This video IS helpful, thank u ❤ Ive had two sets of locs and cut my hair completely mayb 3 times, and since the last cut I've just been rocking a fro or ponytail.. Recently i made up my mind to try locs again, but a smaller set. Sad to say i dont think there are any stylists in my county to do the job so its nice to check for inspiration and knowledge on microlocs on YT.
I'm thrilled that I can across your video, my hair is very short but I am definitely going to get my hair installed with micro locs, and just enjoy the journey.❤
Im on my 2nd set of locs as well. And decided to go smaller with this set too. My first set was 78 locs which I had for over 9 years. My 2nd set is 180 ish and currently locked for a little over a year. I love locs! I use a 2 point rotation because my fine hair needs all the body it can get.
This makes so much sense... only doing a 2 point rotation so the locs can fill out more! I have fine hair and have cut my locs off 3 times because I was just dissatisfied with the look... great advice.
I am planning to get microlocs and came across your video during my research prior to getting my microlocs. Your video was helpful with my understanding of the microlocs install.
I have watched all of your videos. Just combed out my 4th set of locs using comb coils. I didn’t like them they were too big and now I’m about to starts microlocs today. My mom will be installing them. IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!
Thank you so much for showing I’ve had 2 sets of locs and this time I want sista locs I will be purchasing the tool today your mom sure showed exactly how to install 😊
I thought this was a beautiful process. Im in desperate search of a loctician who will be protective of my hair since I’ve taken sooooo much time and care in my own natural hair journey and I actually considered doing it myself but just know I don’t have the patience to accomplish the results I’d be looking for. Definitely found the video to be a enjoyable watch.Even saw it as a beautiful bonding time between you and your mom🤎
We already have locs. I'll be 3 years loced next month, and my daughter's microlocs will be 3years old in December. Fun fact: your first set of locs were my inspiration to get locs. I wanted mine that exact number and size. I ended up with about 240. My daughter's locs are more within the range of your new set. Thanks for inspiring 🙏🏾
I want to learn how to do this for my daughters hair so thank you for uploading this so I can learn how to do it! I know its not as easy as your mom makes it look but maybe I can learn it too!
This is super helpful. Mine were installed by someone else but the bottom row slipped out almost immediately because it’s so much looser than the top and this finally helped me reinstall them appropriately
I’m on my second set of locs. My first was traditional size. I had them for 4 years. I split the parts from the traditional locs in two as I combed them out.
Hi Josette thank you for your video, it's very clear and informative .I have sister locks myself and looking to start installing the microlocs and watching your video has been very helpful, I haven't started yet ,l will let you know how I get on. ❤
Thank you for the video! I will browse your most recent videos, but I was wondering, what makes it a "4 point rotation" vs 3 point or 2 point? I wasn't able to catch the part that was "4" times.
I’m on my first set of locs. Surprised to see it’s been 5 months and I love my locs. I installed mine myself. I started with 2 strand twists so my hair shrank up a lot. I have 210 locs. i have tried 2 point and 4 point rotations for my reties. I hope to decide which retie method I will use going forward.
I want to start my sisterlocks journey really soon I am forwarding these about to be 48 years old I don't know what really took me so long but now I'm at the point where my hair is thin but there's enough of it to start a journey what type of hair would you recommend to start the journey off
I want microlocs with interlocing to start off, I tried previously with braided roots and then 2 strand twist but I started to experience unraveling and foreseen alot of bunching in my future so I combed them out😩 now I still have that yearn for them and planning to possibly do it myself
I have locs already, I cut them a few months ago but I’m thinking really long and hard about combing them out & get this instead since cutting them I don’t really like how they look now. Although I know shrinkage is inevitable but I think I’ll like these more
I have traditional locs (on my 4th restart). I want microlocs but i want to attempt to do them myself and came across your video tutorial. I cant afford the prices they charge for installation. I just need to get this tool. I know i need it. I dont know which points I'll use but I'll figure it out.
I really want to do my own but I’m so scared of messing up the base/foundation I do not want my locs breaking off due to the base being too small for the loc 😩I’ll want to two strand twist them thou, I might give it a try I love micro locs 😭
Hello, I just want to say; this video was so seriously useful for me. I am starting my loc journey. I wanted to ask, how long did this process take your mom, if I may ask?
I'm salt and pepper natural soft curly hair thinking about getting sisterloc but I'm not sure how it will look on me my granddaughter will do she thinks it well look nice with the texture of my hair I think I'm going to try 😮
I adopted 2 AA girls and have learned how to do crochet installs, box braids, countless styles with braids and bands, by watching thousands of TH-cam videos but I think this would be stunning on one of the girls and would love to try. So, I have some questions for you: 1. Is it better when the hair is wet, damp or dry? 2. I saw you don’t use products in a comment, am I supposed to moisturize prior just not after done or not at all? 3: she has thin stranded 3C hair, is that strong enough for locs? I don’t want them to break off. Thank you so much for your videos and instructions!
When I got my sis locs, my hair had to be dry and stripped of all oils. This is good for parting. My loctician did use a spray bottle when needed. It consisted of tea tree oil, coconut oil, and mostly water. This also helped with parting. No oils should he used for moisturizing the first year or at least until they lock. If dry scalp occurs, the tea tree and coconut water oil is perfect.
I havd a question. Are you supposed to go in an order when interlocking? I thought you were supposed to go clockwise or counter clockwise all the way around? So what I mean is you loop from the top, then right side, then upward from the bottom, then left side then repeat .. if that question makes sense. I plan on doing them myself, I had two strand twist locs in the past but I didn’t like how thick they were. I want something that’s close to loose natural hair that I can also do other styles on. Haha should’ve kept watching the video, you answered my questions 🤦🏾♀️
So out of curiosity, can microlocks be started using either the braided, coiled, or two strand twist method? I have seen all the above and the one thing they all seem to have in common is interlocking.
For those asking, here is the link to the tool used in the video. It was kindly sent to me by @nubianlocktool www.nubianlocktool.com/
What is the name of that white paper-like scalp/parting measurement tool your mom used? I'm preparing to start my micro loc journey.
Do you sell pins?
@@lamishamoore-carroll3219 I got the idea from queeneleem’s channel here on TH-cam.
How does one measure the parting?

4 days is pretty fast for diy. Good for you!
@@JOSETTEBIANCA Thank you for the compliment.🤗🤗
How long after you combed out your locs before you did your micro locs
@@sandraross8642 I started the 2nd set within a week of combing out the first one
Do you have a video of how you did them on yourself?
I used your video to start my own Microlocs journey. You are lucky to have your mother do your hair for you. Cherish these moments.
Her mom is the real deal this is how it should be done beautiful work
I’m 100% gonna loc my hair now. Thank you for this video!!!

Hi, I want to install my own locs as well. Would you consider posting a video, because my concern is parting my hair in the back and controlling the sectioned hair as I'm locking it. Thank you
That is true true love from a mother the way she is pulling it through. Her fingers is remarkable.

What tool was that that your mom used to measure the parting space?
It looked like a measuring guide she drew herself with various widths.
@@tracifick3019 yeah i know lol I wanted to know the name of it.

On my second loc journey started December 24 finished December 25 .
