6:46 I have been listening to a lot of VRC6 arrangements lately. What strikes me most is how that specific type of game audio allows for more layering, such as with the inclusion of the inner voices on this track.
You know what would be cool, in my opinion? There are a few videos of games being played with the VRC6 cover versions of their soundtracks on TH-cam. Zelda 1 and 2 come to mind. I’d love to see Zelda 1 played with this soundtrack/soundtrack equivalent songs. I think that would be really enlightening.

The SNES wouldn't need a MSU patch to do this - the SPC700 is plenty capable of real-time emulating basically any 8-bit sound chip in full.
