Catalytic converters help keep pollutants out of our environment, but they can also help restore performance if your existing catalytic converters are failing. Check out how we gained more than eight horsepower by simply replacing the broken catalytic converters in our project Chevy truck, and learn the advantages and disadvantages of direct-fit versus universal catalytic converters as we install some Magnaflow high-flow cats. From stock replacement parts to high-performance aftermarket accessories, Andy's Auto Sport has what you need to get the looks and power your vehicle deserves.

Glad I found your channel. Great straight-forward education.
Looks so easy when you have a lift. I think I will buy the Magnaflow Catalytic Converters myself and pay a mechanic to install them for me.
This is exactly what is wrong with my truck the same rattle the same trouble code and even the check engine light ! Now I know what to do to it ! Thanks !!
You totally just diagnosed the Lean bank code on my truck. Thanks!
Thanks for the video!! Make sense on why I have a lean check code on my truck and the exhaust stjnks also on it.
Thanks man!!
I learned something. Couldn't believe all that loose debris in the catalytic converter.
An all motor engine will only gain 2-3 hp with no cats. High flow cats flow remarkably well as much as a straight pipe. Turbo engines on the other hand run much better with no cats. Unless you don't care about getting caught go test pipes. But If you have a basically stock engine with exhaust work done. Go high flow cats.
Watched about every Andy video there is all night. need sleep. ;-;
You removed all 6 bolts from the exhaust manifolds without breaking any? You better buy a lottery ticket! I'm dreading that nightmare when my time comes to replace my Y pipe.
Thank you for the great instruction video. Even though my concern's are a Miata, this was great input to apply to my application.
Are all of the MagnaFlow cats hi flow?
Don't ruin your o2 sensor with oil and make SURE that your old o2 sensors work, before fitting new cats. I had once sensors that worked only for 10mins after start and then randomly generated voltage for few secs (cheap ones). So buy brand sensor, don't waste money,
So if I purchase a high flow catalytic converter from magnaflow it will increase horsepower?
Watch out for universal fit. Depending on vehicle fit some will trip your check engine light.
learning a lot thru your videos thanks!
You guys are super helpful Thanks!!!
I think it's ridiculous, but it's illegal to replace cats that are properly working. You can't relocate them either. So long tube headers with high flow cats can't be used. I went with mid length coated JBA headers & high flow cats the retain the original position of the O2 sensors & the cats themselves. We don't get emissions testing in our area, but JBA said the cats were 49 state legal.
what about changing the headers? Does that require a CARB legal sticker too?
thanks for the video i really need this, just a question how much you think is the weld cost for a universal cat?
so if you want new cats then whats the whole process of it becasue i want to get high flow cats in my truck what do i need to do?
I've 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara and the engine light keep coming ON. Can you please suggest me which catalytic converter is the best suit for my GV. Thanks
go catless, it's better for you.
:)
its the HKS Hi-Power Exhaust System legal for the streets(in term of sound) and do i need to buy a catalytic if i get the exhaust system?
What part number on the catalytic converter installed
thank god i live in Michigan.
i deleted my catalytic converters
is that ok ?
BMW 3 Series Wagon.
Am I an asshole for using a test pipe and not a cat?
damnit andy. i need to sleep.
move to wiscowtown and straightpipe your truck, problem solved..
Not if it's legal :)
