This is actually a brilliant idea, why are jets limited to air combat (except the slowpoke jet who only can fire 1 missile every 2 hours to a ground target) :)
This is a awesome idea, cause nobody really uses the flares, this would make it a better "grenade" throw it at a tank at an open map and a jet with guided missles can take it out :D i hope dice sees this
Alex Ballarta EA DICE yes but people dont do that and then still on all the other maps and dlc's the handflare has no use, that why dice have to make the handflare lockable, so that if you trow it at a large group of enemys, you can grap your javelin and get a nice multi kill c:
If youre playing with friends the flare can be useful to designate enemy armor for jets. I find it hard to spot ground vehicles from afar in an attack jet so this would be a big help I guess.
The Flares would be amazing if there were more proper "night time" maps where it's actually dark out and you can't see more than a few meters in front of you. Would love to see Incindiary and Flashbangs buffed as well, they're far too weak as LC pointed out. I think anyone caught in within 7~10m of an FB should be blind and deaf for 5 seconds - any less than that and there's no point, and any more and it starts to become OP as if you nail a group of people you'll likely have enough time to gun them all down before it wears off. I think the intention of the incendiary is area-denial, which would be great on maps like operation locker or if you're defending something like an M-COM from being armed, but it *needs* to do a lot more damage and should definitely kill anyone stupid enough to remain standing in it...
Like you said, it is definitely to block off areas. It also serves to obstruct vision pretty well. So many times I've been in Operation Locker and incendiary grenades were used to keep a team behind cover from returning fire. It basically functions like a smoke grenade that does damage.
What if the ability to lock on to flares was added instead? Throw it onto a sniper or camper-laden building, and air to ground missiles with line of sight could lock on and rain hell on the area, (like a less powerful Tracer Dart gun from BC2). I know that it isn't all that realistic, but it wouldn't be totally far fetched, as flares are sometimes used to mark aerial strike zones, and it would give an actual purpose to the flares. Thoughts?
Nico Hillman Smoke is used to mark zones for guided missiles/bombs. Flares in this case could be used to work with heat-seeking missiles since the chem mixture of the flares burns extremely hot.
Nico Hillman I actually said the exact same thing when the different grenade types were originally released. My plan was to have a friend designate a target, be structural or vehicular, and my guided missiles would rain hell. Although the JDAMs would seem to make this function obsolete, their minimal power and small blast radius leaves them to be almost useless and out-of-the-question for my jet build
There are uses for flares outside of marking areas, targets or messing with night vision and infrared scopes. A small " trick " is to use them on dark areas to light up the rooms in order for making the corner campers really easy to see if they are hiding in the dark corners. Correctly placed, they can even blind them from their enemies by a small bit and make using red dot sight and alike scopes hard to aim with due to the similar red light all over the screen. For example, in Zavod 211 rush mode. There is a B bomb inside the bunker in the first place, generally it is a really dark place and camping enemies can sometimes prove a difficult thing to detect in there. No problem, throw in a flare and you are good to go. Especially useful as a defender since attackers tend to set up a camp in there.
I think there should be an emp grenade or something similar for destroying equipment more effectively. I know some might call it ripping off cod or some bs but really, sometimes you even see claymores or other equipment and it's just a huge hassle trying to safely remove/destroy them.
There was EMP nades in bf2142 which came out before COD4. So any1 calling it a rip off from cod is retarded. Still, emp nades... would like true emp strikes from commanders before nades
You guys know that pretty much the only practical military application of an EMP is delivered by a nuke. Even a small, grenade sized EMF requires the user to lug around a heavy ass backpack. There are EMP based weapons designed for usage from planes (see BFBC2 and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_pulse#Non-nuclear_electromagnetic_pulse_.28NNEMP.29), but, still this concept is totally unviable. Also, an EMP wouldn't affect a tripwire mine, so that entire statement was actually kind of pointless. Incendiary grenades can destroy the tripwire claymores and (they should) destroy all other types of explosives. This is what they're used for IRL.
I love LvlCap. He's helped me learn so much about BF ever since I first joined the BF community in March. All I've been doing is preparing to get BF4 for Christmas
DICE needs to make flares show up on radar for teammates, so commanders can see designated areas and so squad leaders can mark objectives more clearly.
This is exactly what flares should be used for. I completely agree. In real combat, flares are normally used to designate a particular location or as a means to back track to a previous location. Being able to designate a target to your commander by simply dropping a flare there would really enhance the game experience.
oh man just more to look forward to in BF4, i think my fav will be the flares actually. As a pilot first in this game the flare will be my best friend because nothing will mark a target better than flares when i need a better visual on a CAS run than spotting alone, and when i use the transport chopper to actually "transport" forces to and from the front lines flares will get my attention more than shooting in the air so i see tracers. I cant wait!
Great idea, if it isn't there it should be because it also emits a heat so in real life, the heat guided missile systems can very potentially be distracted by flares.
RGOs and V40s are probably the best nades in this game. Still, I find times when the flashbangs and incendiaries help, and of course the M67 still kicks ass. But dat hand flare tho
I lov the incendiary grenade, it is very useful for crowd control. Throw one down in a hallway to stop the enemy from running through, giving you time to revive and heal your teammates, reload, or whatever. It's more of a tactical grenade than a lethal one.
By the way, those hand flares are really bright in a dark room, so they are very useful to find enemies hiding in the shadows if you don't have a Night Vision sight.
Incendiary grenades are pretty good at clearing out tight hallways with a cluster of enemies since they will likely all bail with that thing going off. It also doesn't harm you or your allies so it kind of is a useful smoke grenade that causes damage. That is how I've used them.
Having flares in game is such a good idea, not only does it blind NVG etc. but it opens up a whole lot of new tactical ways to play with your mates. Awesome!
Definitely the kind of videos I like to see LC do, very informative and give you all the details. I will just add some tables or something in the video, just showing the damage and the range of each grenade, something like that.
thankfully they buffed the flashbang, really useful on those choke points. I was able to get 6 kills on carrier Assult while defending because I popped a flash around a corner
+NarcassisticGamer Yeah I was gonna say, flashbangs seem to be way more effective now which I like, because they really were useless before. And they even do a small amount of explosive damage.
I've used the V40's & RGO's almost exclusively, but after watching this I can't wait to get into an Operation Locker match so I can run support class & smoke grenades with my INRV-equipped SG335... Good tip man, thanks...
This is completely different now, not sure about the explosive ones but the duration of flashbang and incendiary are definitely higher and smoke effects flir and irnv
v40 is my choice as well. the fact you get 3 grenades, plus farthest throwing distance is awesome. even if it's not a one hit kill, a lot of the times they are hurt or someone (or I) have shot them a few times already
I have the impression they move faster with a flatter trajectory as well, and you can throw them in very rapid succession also. In corridor fights etc you can "shoot" them straight into those machingunners in the distance. Do they also have a shorter fuse? To me it seems like they are detonating on target much more often then the regular ones.
I think dice could easily improve the flares by allowing any form of rocket to lock on to it. It would be a really cool effect to see a friendly jet fly over a flare that has multiple enemies near it, have the jet fire it's laser guided missile at the flare, and watch the enemies get blown to smithereens.
we need darker maps so people have a reason to use these scopes. maybe add an option to change the map setting to night time. I think this would be awesome having battles at night and not like tehran highway dark I mean way darker.
To bad DICE thinks that hinders the gameplay. I mean seriously, that's what people want. They want it to be hard to see. But noooo. DICE SAYS FUCK YO SHIT!
Just unlocked the incendiary grenades and love them. I usually play rush so they are perfect to throw on the mcom when someone is planting or after you plant the mcom, I found that this is the most effective way to use it.
RGO impact is my go to grenade. Despite the lesser damage, there really is no overstating how crucial it is to not give your opponent time to escape the blast. Also it does not explode on impact, it explodes very shortly after impact (less than a second after impact). This is significant because it still allows you to ricochet the grenade off of walls if you need to. As for the incendiary grenades I hardly ever use them but they are very effective in rush. Throw them at the objectives to delay arming or disarming the bomb. Also deadly against players who camp in tight spaces with limited exits.
When he was talking about igniting the ground, I noticed this works on Lancang Dam, too. I had my mortar firing on some enemies in front of me, in the grassy area, when suddenly the grass was on fire. It doesn't happen often, as I shot 3-4 rounds and only one ignited it, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
I use the flares often to light up dark rooms and to blind people (not just people with flir). I find it really helpful in dark rooms and when you throw them at doors. When you place them at a door in a room and camp in the room, enemies who run inside get blinded by the flare for moments and won't see you, so you have an advantage over them
I love the smoke utility of support class. Smoke grenade regen is nuts. Some great builds and you have gadgets (including smoke) with built in IRNV. I especially love smoke for Rush but also CQ and DOM.
i was really really looking forward to the incendiary grenade when i heard they would be included in BF4. i always wanted something like that in any shooter game. but the incendiary gren is a bit disappointing. it should rather be like a molotov cocktail where it burns far longer and denies an area. hopefully dice gonna buff it a bit
You were mostly right about this guide. A few of the things you were wrong about we're that the incendiary grenades do not one shot people that is not there job, you did not see their true purpose which is to cut of points of the map for a few seconds. No one will want to run through them if there are guys watching the incendiary grenade because they know if they do they will have low health making it super easy for the guys watching it to kill them. Secondly, flares are very useful. Me and my buddies like to play milsim games online sometimes flares are extremely good for marking enemy armor, highlighting JDAM strikes, and requesting supply drops.
I like all the different grenades... except the mini and impact... I'm not sure why we need to have a load of "uncounterable" 'splosives. I'm also wondering how long any audio effects of the flashbang actually last. Additionally it would have been interesting to have the flares or flashbangs give 'spotting' gadgets a false positive on the minimap. Cause of tactics'n'shit.
Awesome guide as usual. One point I would add about flares is they create decent visual obstruction, especially in rooms and corridors and most especially with ab obstacle. For example, put the flare on or in front of a table or counter or box, stand somewhere behind the object and it's decent added cover.
Hey LvL. Just an idea for you. Would be cool if you did a top plays series. Let your subscribers submit their videos to you. Top 5 trolls, top 5 plays, top 5 sniper shots/SRAW shots etc. I can imagine it being very popular. Everyone would like to see their video on your channel haha it would be awesome!
That's actually a really cool idea.. not only would it be a nice reoccuring series where people would surely post videos, hoping Levelcap watches them and praises them but also the only thing he would have to do is watch clips and edit them into one while talking on top of it... wouldn't actually have to get raw game footage himself at all.
Actually, Chaboyy already does exactly this. I think that after the drama that Levelcap had to deal with in the other instance he was accused of stealing intellectual property, I do not think he would want to do this.
One use that I have used the flares for is in Hainan resort where you put the flare infront of the couch in front of the stairs and then sit behing the sofa. This then causes ur opponent to be blinded but ur sight is perfectly fine. Give it a try if u havent already!
i like to believe that the flares were put in with party chat and skype in mind, if people really play together these things can come in handy, *ground player*: hey dude, i need a airstrike on the marked position, going to throw a flare! *chopper player*: i hear ya, over at bravo right? *ground player*: yeah, be quick.
2:42 --> FIRST of all you can only throw it 32 meter... 2:47 --> THIRD, if you throw it directly on to somebody... Where is 2??? :D Great video tho LevelCap!
i got flares first day of bf4 because i really wanted the flare and ever since ive been flaring my way through the battlefield they are amazing love it for marking dz and lz's
NightFury173 One grenade, one kill. With the V40 minis, you're most likely to only get one kill since you need two to kill. So might as well just have one sure kill..
TheHidde504 If you're not sure where to throw 'em, you shouldn't be throwing them at all. 90% of my M67's get me at least one kill. V40 minis do less damage and quantity doesn't cover for that.
Jan den Aantrekker I play CQ 95% of the (the rest I play TDM) and people are predictable when they capture flags. It's not that hard to learn the most common spots for people to capture flags, it's not that hard to always throw a nade down a hallway where your teammates are firing.
The Incendiary is great on rush. Once you arm the M-COM just chuck one of those babies on it. If you have a ammo pack through two. No one is disarming that while its engulfed in a ball of flame.
Multiple flares can also be used to obscurer vision. the brightness makes it hard to see past them. But since you can only put down one you need team/squadmates to help.
the incendiaries are excellent for buying time to reload levelcap, one of my favorite grenades for rush, whenever im holding an mcom i use them as a last resort to throw it on the mcom to buy some time, or use them to slow down people in operation locker
Incendiary grenades are the best. If people are camping in a room, you toss one in, they run out while taking damage, and you can kill them much faster. I always run with these ones.
I use flares to obscure the enemy's "Dorito Vision". The color of the flares is identical to red dot, so it makes it very easy to obscure their spotting. Very helpful on Operation Locker, for crossing those impossible corridors.
Hey levelcap i have a good use for flares. First i like to to do strafe runs with helicopters and my friend would tell me where to to one but with flares my friend throws one down at a location and i get multi kills from my strafe runs
I have to say I am a fan of the Incendiary's. Issue is most people use them incorrectly. Use them defensively or passive-aggressive. Use it to cover a reload, prevent someone from camping a corner, or block a corridor for a few moments till you or your teammates can regroup and get a better position or, again, reload. Most people wont run through the fire so it is effective when its used right. Also, though the flares are generally useless, I have found them to be very useful in large conquest maps with attack jets/helo's (esp. in Hardcore) to mark areas to strafe and suppress.
I use flares on conquest when playing with a friend that's an ace with jets. (Console) I throw that thing down and he blasts that whole area into next week.
Incendiary grenades are GREAT for stopping enemies coming up elevators. (Siege of Shanghai C point). They come out of the elevator with >30hp, seems good to me. Otherwise, they stop someone chasing you or are good in tight choke points to blind/force them to move out of cover. They seem more about setting up the kill for the gun rather than flat killing like the frags.
Incendiary grenades make great "access denial" devices especially on Operation Locker. Setting them off near the chokepoints makes it difficult for enemies to strafe in and out of corners unless they're further back. If they do then they take 60pts of damage and become vulnerable to grenades reaching past the 5m point. Flare can be really really distracting at chokepoints if you're firing from further back. It makes noticing people crawling or kneeling much more difficult especially if there are several on your side.
2 guys "securing a choke point"(camping) 1 with LMG and Flash Hider/supressor + bipod and infrared/nightvision sight other is spamming smoke grenades FLAME INCOMMING
I like the flash bangs the effect may not last long but that is all the time you really need when clearing out a room with a squad maybe defending the m-com or somthing.
I use the flashbangs in carrier assault when we are fighting in the carriers. Chuck one or two flashbangs into the engine room, rush in, and shoot them all. Always works.
hi level cap you might already be doing this but you should make guides for all the gadgets in the game, like ethier a long video with all of them or 4 short videos for each class that would be awesome
While In general I don't like running around with FLIR, I found it interesting on my support dude with an LMG+FLIR, plus smoke grenades (with ammo box). I didn't actually run into many guys that run NV or IR so you can potentially setup a nice temporary chokepoint by popping smoke, but beware of grenade retaliation, and for godsakes don't have a laser on your own gun, its like saying, "Here I am!" in all that smoke. The Support dude/FLIR/Smoke option was the only one I felt worthwhile running, because of the relatively short duration of smoke, its almost mandatory that you have easy replenishment of them.
You know what's going to be a crazy combo and something you and Matimio should do for squad up; the Flare + Smoke Grenade combo. One person has Flares and the other has Smoke and wherever you guys go just chuck one of each down on the same spot. It will totally fuck up the other team, especially in corridors like in Operation Locker.
Should have prolly mentioned that Incendiary Grenades do damage through walls/floors. So throwing them into the corridor on Operation Locker for example also does damage to people passing them in the tunnel below. And that Flash bangs do 5 damage if you manage to hit the guy :)
One thing you might want to test out is if it is possible to kill someone with a flashbang. It happened to me one game and the victim was astounded by it as was I. But upon reviewing my BF4 stats it has no kills listed for it. Though I could have sworn the message popped up that M84 Flashbang was the weapon that did the kill. It might only do 1 damage after all. But any damage is still capable of killing you I guess.
If you make direct contact with someone using the flashbang it does do damage. Or, at least it did in HC. I've also been killed with smoke grenades making impact but those were fired from grenade launchers. So, who knows on the hand thrown version.
IR flares make the rockets lock on to them because they are IR while normal flares are just flares like the tactical insertions from cod And also flares are for jets or helis to see a position to strike, it could be a sign of a squad under fire wanting evacuation or more soldiers to drop in or just wanting to blind the enemy and push up, or like the way I like to use them when I'm go in solo queue I put m2 slams on the floor and when an LAV passes by I throw a flare at the slams and it says (My name) FLARE skrub and I get kicked for (Hacking)
Just based off of real life experience, I think the Incendiary grenade should blind Infrared scopes. Infrared detects heat which is why the greener things are, the cooler they are, something like a incendiary grenade would be very hot. So in the scope, you should see more red and it should blind more of the vision. Its just small things like this that bug me because they could make a difference.
From my experience I've found flares to be a great distraction, I play on the xbox one so maybe I'm just playing against lesser skilled players in general, but I find I can toss a flare in one side of the room and if I'm at the other almost always the enemy looks over at the flare before noticing me. As IRNV and night vision no longer see through smoke that benefit of flares have pretty much become moot however I just find them to be a lot of fun and of course are good at lighting up dark areas particularly door thresholds enemies might charge in from where in they're somewhat blinded by the red glow while I far in the back in the darkest part of a room see them clear as day.
I like the flares. It's good to use if you don't have a mic for communication, because if you see a flare burning, you should automatically assume that location was designated for a good reason.
I would like to throw down a flare on a rooftop and then request a pickup. That would be really cool. But knowing the dumbass players on 360 they'd probably just ignore it and fly away in desperate search of kills. Am I the only one who experiences this? Or is this on all platforms cause I rarely get a good pilot.
I mainly play HC where RGO impact grenades instantly kill people and Incinderary grenades will kill others, as well. I run Incin on Engineer while I use impacts on the rest. If you know someone is hunkered down, you can use Incin grenades to either flush them out or kill the campers if they don't get out in time.
me and my squad have been using flares to designate enemy vehicles for our jet and heli pilots by running up to tanks etc and throwing one on there, as long as it isnt right at the edge it stays on.
I still don't get why great videos with no downsides get dislikes. I guess there will always be "those" types of people. As always, another very informative video! Although I have only rented BF4 to beat the campaign and mess around on MP a little bit, I still enjoy your BF4 videos so keep up the good work!
Heat seeking missiles should be able to lock on to ground flares, that way we can call in cool airstrikes and such.
This is actually a brilliant idea, why are jets limited to air combat (except the slowpoke jet who only can fire 1 missile every 2 hours to a ground target) :)

whanowa also you can use it in hardcore to designate ennmies since you cant spot its only usefull if you have a mic tho
The Colonel 100 can kill people with flares...
I love battlefield friends :)
They can also take out Aircraft carriers with them
i am 110 and cant kill anyone with that xP
Fflintiii Get a life bro, go see the sun for once.
SizeableVermin The sunlight hurts my eyes.
The flare is clearly superior because of tactics and shit.
Yeah tactics and shit... 'Merica
Dragonlacross10 *Murica*
I'm honestly considering using flares just because they look the coolest.
Also, I suck ass with normal grenades.
Might as well not use them at all.

you also use flares to call airstrikes and evac mostly with friends
I never thought of using it like that
nolans gaming you are God amongst men
I like the ending ;) And now we know the flare isn't just a tool meant to give your position away.

Here is a "trick," turn your brightness up. I do not know what a dark corner is.
TheArchDick Very smart, but once go blind from effects, you really go blind :p
TheArchDick Your brightness isnt adjusted right then
TheArchDick People like you ruin the game for other people.
You need lots of grenade kills (no m320)

TheRogue4life cant you pull up large map on HC, like on ps4 hold options and then tap r1?
I love the incendiary grenade, it blocks the enemy's line of sight and on maps like Locker and Metro 2014 it's amazing

Weren't the flashbangs given a longer effect though, I was playing this morning and got flashbanged, couldn't see shit for like ten seconds.
Well this vid is over a year old so some things have changed
Roland Cadiz Yeah I know, just saying although to be honest, I'm not sure it was a flashbang.
HyperBiscuitJack you can thank matimio and levelcap for that
This video was made in 2013 trust me bf4 has changed a lot since then and has been threw a few patches
he used the flashbangs on himself so it didn't last as long
Incendiary grenades are pretty good at clearing out tight hallways with a cluster of enemies since they will likely all bail with that thing going off. It also doesn't harm you or your allies so it kind of is a useful smoke grenade that causes damage. That is how I've used them.

Whoa... LevelCap, can you try to get a footage of flare and smoke working at the same time on one spot?
^^ SG553... Dyslexic much? lol
If you got a team that will listen to you, the flares can be used as : (1) too hostile zone, (2) Drop infrantry zone, (3) Air support.
Good idea!
Thank you :)
+Nick Hillman what do you play on?
Xbox mate
+mark gonzalez also my platoon is > 666 Death Tole (note that I play with playstation players deu to some maps I may play on or so)
This is completely different now, not sure about the explosive ones but the duration of flashbang and incendiary are definitely higher and smoke effects flir and irnv
RGO FTW! finally a nade that explodes fast and on impact i love it
oh yeah great video Cap!
nah brah its all about the flares...dem tackticz doh
lol
v40 is my choice as well. the fact you get 3 grenades, plus farthest throwing distance is awesome. even if it's not a one hit kill, a lot of the times they are hurt or someone (or I) have shot them a few times already
I'm going to use the flares, period. Because of tacticz and shit!
#yoloswaginabox
HELL YEA. Tactics
#BootMeltingFun
ALL DAY EVERA DAY!
drader1000 Also slam tactic @Defuse
Drader THE PROPHET OF AIDEN its in the game lol
Sans Punman this was 4 years ago lol
Just unlocked the incendiary grenades and love them. I usually play rush so they are perfect to throw on the mcom when someone is planting or after you plant the mcom, I found that this is the most effective way to use it.
Time to go spam Smokes...xD
RGO impact is my go to grenade. Despite the lesser damage, there really is no overstating how crucial it is to not give your opponent time to escape the blast. Also it does not explode on impact, it explodes very shortly after impact (less than a second after impact). This is significant because it still allows you to ricochet the grenade off of walls if you need to.
As for the incendiary grenades I hardly ever use them but they are very effective in rush. Throw them at the objectives to delay arming or disarming the bomb. Also deadly against players who camp in tight spaces with limited exits.
Flares are also good to show you where possible threats are if you are communicating with your squad
id rather throw a nade..
I'm glad the smokes are so great, I really hoped the flashes would be better though
Incendiary grenades are great for close quarter fights. The best example being conquest on Operation Metro 2014. Great for flushing people out.
When he was talking about igniting the ground, I noticed this works on Lancang Dam, too. I had my mortar firing on some enemies in front of me, in the grassy area, when suddenly the grass was on fire. It doesn't happen often, as I shot 3-4 rounds and only one ignited it, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
great job
I use the flares often to light up dark rooms and to blind people (not just people with flir). I find it really helpful in dark rooms and when you throw them at doors. When you place them at a door in a room and camp in the room, enemies who run inside get blinded by the flare for moments and won't see you, so you have an advantage over them
5:01 We get it, you vape
I love the smoke utility of support class. Smoke grenade regen is nuts. Some great builds and you have gadgets (including smoke) with built in IRNV. I especially love smoke for Rush but also CQ and DOM.
i was really really looking forward to the incendiary grenade when i heard they would be included in BF4. i always wanted something like that in any shooter game. but the incendiary gren is a bit disappointing. it should rather be like a molotov cocktail where it burns far longer and denies an area. hopefully dice gonna buff it a bit
that'd be awesome and i'd definitely use them.
no they can wallbang its very annoying in certain areas
There was the pulse grenade in Halo 4 and that was way better than the incendiary.
That's actually a really cool idea..
not only would it be a nice reoccuring series where people would surely post videos, hoping Levelcap watches them and praises them but also the only thing he would have to do is watch clips and edit them into one while talking on top of it... wouldn't actually have to get raw game footage himself at all.
rantanen1 Thanks man. Let's hope he sees this
Actually, Chaboyy already does exactly this.
You're a genius
Matt Cruz
thank you?
Matt Cruz i like to see that people actually play games with tactical play as a main selling point tactically.
kylequinten or you could just spot
but on hardcore it could be useful I guess
shouting callouts sounds more effective
nikolaiprotovski
also, you don't have the marker on hardcore so i don't even bother spotting.
2:42 --> FIRST of all you can only throw it 32 meter...
2:47 --> THIRD, if you throw it directly on to somebody...
Where is 2??? :D
Great video tho LevelCap!
UP IN THE SKY, ITS A BIRD, ITS A PLANE, NO ITS HANDFLAREINGTON
Thanks level for uploading even over the holidays... it shows true dedication and i respect that
i got flares first day of bf4 because i really wanted the flare and ever since ive been flaring my way through the battlefield they are amazing love it for marking dz and lz's
M67 all the way, they kill in one and you can bounce them around corners.
But you only get one :(
NightFury173 One grenade, one kill.
Vmt16 I call bullshit on the 90%
Jan den Aantrekker I play CQ 95% of the (the rest I play TDM) and people are predictable when they capture flags.
You can use flares in hardcore Conquest where you can't spot tanks for your Jets. I dont know how far you can see them but it could be really.
*nice
Multiple flares can also be used to obscurer vision. the brightness makes it hard to see past them. But since you can only put down one you need team/squadmates to help.
I've gotten killed by a flash bang in BF4 before....
yup flashbang can kill you if your health is below 10-15%
I've killed someone with a flash bang before
They also set off mines and c4 so if you were in a tank it was a trololo
I've killed someone with a flashbang on rouge transmission
Nikolas Grace I was just killed by a flashbang today on locker
the incendiaries are excellent for buying time to reload levelcap, one of my favorite grenades for rush, whenever im holding an mcom i use them as a last resort to throw it on the mcom to buy some time, or use them to slow down people in operation locker
Incendiary grenades are the best. If people are camping in a room, you toss one in, they run out while taking damage, and you can kill them much faster. I always run with these ones.
I like them too, but you have to think to yourself: why not just a normal nade, and kill them instantly with it?
yolickerss
same goes for the incendiary grenade. Or any grenade.
That makes no sense man. If they could get away from a normal nade, they would also be able to get away from an incendiary nade.
Nice ending transition levelcap :D
Nice transition there with the smoke at the end
I use flares on conquest when playing with a friend that's an ace with jets. (Console) I throw that thing down and he blasts that whole area into next week.
Incendiary grenades are GREAT for stopping enemies coming up elevators. (Siege of Shanghai C point).
They come out of the elevator with >30hp, seems good to me.
Otherwise, they stop someone chasing you or are good in tight choke points to blind/force them to move out of cover.
They seem more about setting up the kill for the gun rather than flat killing like the frags.
couldn´t you use the smokes in combination with the flares to completely obstruct the view of everything ?
i know :D
Incendiary grenades make great "access denial" devices especially on Operation Locker. Setting them off near the chokepoints makes it difficult for enemies to strafe in and out of corners unless they're further back. If they do then they take 60pts of damage and become vulnerable to grenades reaching past the 5m point.
Flare can be really really distracting at chokepoints if you're firing from further back. It makes noticing people crawling or kneeling much more difficult especially if there are several on your side.
2 guys "securing a choke point"(camping)
1 with LMG and Flash Hider/supressor + bipod and infrared/nightvision sight
other is spamming smoke grenades
FLAME INCOMMING
I like the flash bangs the effect may not last long but that is all the time you really need when clearing out a room with a squad maybe defending the m-com or somthing.
God, I miss BF2: Modern Combat, used to get to the enemy spawn base, camp on the ammo crate and just endlessly chuck flash bangs.
And vehicle ammo and upgrades to :) I'ts probably coming
I might have missed something obvious here, but how do you get the pilot suit? Is it a camo or does it just stick with you after you exit an aircraft?
Yes, the second.
Nico Hillman Sweet, thanks!
Do flash bangs effect tank and LAV drivers?
Jonah Cawston yes
Should have prolly mentioned that Incendiary Grenades do damage through walls/floors. So throwing them into the corridor on Operation Locker for example also does damage to people passing them in the tunnel below.
And that Flash bangs do 5 damage if you manage to hit the guy :)
Rgo is not cheap as alot of people think, its not OP, its really good for cqc and its my fav :D
RGO Impact is my favorite, I have it for each class. My second favorite is the M67
grenade, It's pretty good for bouncing around corners!
When flashbang detonates right under me I think they have done like 25 damage. And the grenade launcher ones kill you if they hit you directly.
zemroid Sounds about right.
***** 40mm dildos can hurt you with no speed..the idea alone is terrifying.
no, just a gentle shove would be even fun!
Incindiaries with the Offense perks 3rd level or Grenadier 1st level gives 2 of them and are great for Metro left stairs or detecting elevator flanks.
if you're in a helicopter and there's a lock on it can you throw a flare and have the missile follow it instead?
The flares are probably not programmed for that, otherwise people will spam it in helis.
no. they are IR flares on heli
Flares FTW best grenade no doubt
Throw down infinite smoke grenades? I guess it's increasing the...
*Sunglasses*
Fog of war
YEEEEAAAAHHHHH!
Thanks for this video and your others. Switched to the v40 minis after this. Really like them.
They need to make the Smoke grenade more "instant effect" or thicker.
:c
have you ever seen a real smoke grenade used? it's pretty slow.
@@wheelsndealz
Yeah, but BF4 isn't.
just unlocked the flare this morning :D feeling pretty happy with all grenades unlocked
Can you see a flashlight or tactical light through smoke?
So is that a yes?
Excellent guide, very well spoken, will try the V40 Mini....now
He looks so damn cute when his throwing things around in the start of the video!!!!
Jaeger im glad i wasnt the only one who thought this
Defaq?
I like the flares. It's good to use if you don't have a mic for communication, because if you see a flare burning, you should automatically assume that location was designated for a good reason.
Lets just hope that aircraft game players know what it means when they see those on the battlefield
Can the flares block a lock? :3
Mini got 80 dmg.. Everytime i throw a mini somewhere someone dies.. Everytime i get a mini on me i die. How can it only have 80 dmg O.o
Well there are other PLAYERS right? So the enemy could be HURT already right? Think for fucks sake!
Only really useful on servers with no 3D spotting - but it's a red glowing "shoot here" that really helps me deal with a bothersome tank.
I still don't get why great videos with no downsides get dislikes. I guess there will always be "those" types of people. As always, another very informative video! Although I have only rented BF4 to beat the campaign and mess around on MP a little bit, I still enjoy your BF4 videos so keep up the good work!
