I actually use an HD-33 on my 1911 in real life and it's my favorite kind of sight. In game I like using it with slightly jumpier guns taking over the roll of the PKA-S for me.
Thanks for the demonstration of the various scope profiles. One thing that you didn't mention about the FLIR and IRNV scopes is that not only do they highlight enemies, but they allow you to see through smoke, potentially giving you a big edge if you use it liberally. But as you said, they are vulnerable to flashbangs and also lasers sights.
I think the variable zoom mod is waay more useful than the flashlights and the lazors for the snipers, I'm using the hunter scope (20x) with the variable 14x zoom attachment, and yes, I use 14x to scout for enemies, and 20x zoom for engaging those pesky LMG dudes :P
***** I do not simply care about K/D ratio when I use the Sniper, the only thing I care about is to make a safe route for my team to capture the objectives, and not vice-versa :P
Playing the objective isn't the only way to play the game, and conquest is only one game mode of many. The truth is that snipers have their own thing, just like any other class. You don't have to play as recon if you don't want to. If you don't like it that there is a recon class in the game at all, simply don't play it instead of complaining, because that will get you nowhere.
Just tried it with my cousin’s M14 pellet gun, and it‘s not too uncomfortable, but if I was shooting like that with a .308 bolt action, I think it would get uncomfortable real quick
My personal favourite is the Holographic sight for assault rifles. It does take up a bit more space, but I never really track a target while zoomed in. Once you get used to it, you can zoom in, shoot, and zoom out pretty fast. It's also a good middle ground between close-quarters and slightly distant battles.
For anyone wondering why you would use certain sights over others if you haven't played BF4, as I did before I got BF4, the reason is that you unlock different sights depending on the origin of the gun. You unlock the reflex first on the western guns, the kobra on Russian ones, the HD-33 for the Chinese ones. Same for the holo, the PKA-S, and the coyote
Nervousstupidman1234 coyote is nice but i prefer the holo just for the reticle and housing, if you could get your sights damaged coyote will be the first one
Since you talked about losing the red radical in the lighted part of some levels. You can do what some of the gears of war players used. With a piece of color tap on the screen in the center so you can always have a center point to play from I hope people see this and it does help. I use it in almost ever game I play and it works well too!
As a future tip, LevelCap, people use Hollow sights or the sights that have a bit more 'metal bulking' around the dot, or circle in the center so there is less room for distraction around they sight. I generally use ones such as HD33 and others a-like when I am using a carbine, or a wide open map for medium to long range. And in return I use the Hollow for Short to Medium ranges in closed in/building oriented maps. Food for thought... or... Sights for thought? o.o
I hate the chevron in the ACOG sight but I love the magnification and it's looks. I wish you could customize the chevron to be something else like a dot or something.
Rhewtz True. But it shouldn't be mostly about trying to be realistic because it fails at that in the base, it should be more about experience than realism. Planes take 2 missiles up the tailpipe or to the wing and all you have to do is wait for critical damage to go away, or standing near a medbox heals you.
the "interesting red triangle" in the acog, in real life, is part of the range system that is built in there.. the very tip on the triangle is 100m, the inner "tip" of the triangle is your 200m mark and the 300m mark is the flat top of the black line in the center.. the hash marks running across that line represents the average width of a man sized target at the range to the right.. 4 (400) and so on down...
I got around to playing this game for the first time since my childhood and honestly the kobra sight has absolutely no weakness and is in my opinion the best sight in the game
Me too. When I play on my friends profile I always get frustated by him using red dot sights on all his pistols. I only use the ghost ring when the regular iron sights suck.
I used to hate Kobra sight. But, now after using it in BFH and BF4 it's my favorite for both close and medium range. In Hardline I can easily kill a enemy who's more than 100m away from me.
Man you and matimi0 are so thorough with your videos I gotta give you guys props and thanks for all the tips you guys give. If it weren't for you two I'd still be a noob on the battlefield!
The Kobra sight has been my favourite sight since BF3 and have pretty much used it over all red dots in BF4 too. I used to use the PKA as well in BF3, especially on my L85 to mimic the Susat if I felt like changing my style up a bit over the cqb style of the kobra. However, in BF4 I haven't really used it at all, and I think it's because they changed the reticle from the single chevron of BF3 to the red circle and black distance markers which just take up too much of the sight The sight description even says it uses the chevron reticle which it doesn't, which is really disappointing and I wish they hadn't changed it, but oh well. The Kobra is still my go to sight. Great vid 👍🏻

Zeroing adjusting your scope so that the trajectory of your round intersects with your cross hairs at a certain range, say 300m, so you don't have to aim off to hit the target. It shows what your sniper is zeroed at at the bottom of the screen where your fire mode usually is. I believe you also cycle through the different ranges using the same key as the one to switch fire modes.
Yeah for BF4 sometimes I like to run a kit that would actually be used in special forces units. So I’ll run the m416/SCAR-H (mk17) w/ suppressor, holographic sight, either light/laser combo or the magnifier, n folding foregrip/afg. Or the Mk11/SCARH-SV w/ suppressor, ACOG, folding foregrip/afg, n light/laser combo
MysTic Gaming Never heard of that. Tacticool means you care about the looks of the firearm over the functionality, when really functionality is more important.

5:30 Those angles are much closer to 30 degrees on either side than 10 degrees, a 60 degree (17% of full circle) glint visibility. It may be 10 degrees, but what you drew was way different
I've been playing a lot of operation locker lately which can be difficult to see in, so i decided to start using the thermal scope on my MK-5. Such a beaut!
Acog 4X sight on a Type 95 is one of my favorite loadouts. I can hip fire close range and have great accuracy and medium to long range is covered by the sight, which I personally find pretty manageable.
theantinaziperson andthebronytolove I love the AK-12. I usually put a coyote RDS on it though. Then slap on a vertical grip with a muzzle break, and that thing is amazing. That acog on the AK-12 is pretty good too. I use both frequently.
Anybody else have this issue, there's also certain ppl who i can thumbs up or down, but its not for everybody. How does this new layout encourage conversation if i can't reply to anybody.
I like how there are a lot of options that make those bush wookies a little more useful. There will always be that crazy line wolf off in the distance trying to snag a headshot, why not give them some options.
40x scope with 14x variable zoom sounds cool, you could use the 14x for most engagements and say you find someone far away and you don't trust your accuracy too much you can switch to 40x and be dead sure you're on target
40x scope is the best! well for my style of play anyways, i only do 1000+m headshots. on every map instead of rushing to the action i go as far as i can from the action , way out in the edge of maps, hunting , so next time you play bf4 and you feel a bullet pass you by, keep on running because ive got you on my sights.
The pka-s sight is my favorite because its kinda like a reflex scope where you get the RDS benefit, with extra zoom for taking the targets farther a away or hidden ones.
As for me, I like to use holos more than RDS for two reason, 1st i'm using AUG as my main weapon, and holo looks badass on it, 2nd is that holo gives you a circle which tracks your bulet spreat and I find myself doing better with it
Why tf does everybody use RDS's? I understand the're good for CQB but, everybody uses the RDS's, even at long range distances.. I like the PKA-S and the EO Tech, also the ACOG is so underrated... The military doesn't put a reflex sight on their HK416's and do work... I for one love to put on a ACOG with a bipod, maybe a angled as well.. But, my point... Nobody seems to be tactical any more and people are try to turn Battlefield into COD... And I hate that... COD, is a rushing 9 year old infested game... Except the old ones, the're good.. And Battlefield (USED TO BE) is a tactical, good shooter.... Just wanted to put this out there and hopefully get some people to actually like the other sights, rather than think the're crap.
@NeovisionX In one of the newer updates on Xbox (I'm sure it's on everything else too) if you look through the options you'll find 'Advanced Settings' under Gameplay, here you can change everything from your HUD colors, to the size of UI, to the Icons on screen, and even your Optics and vehicle HUD color. I have mine set to 7% Red, 27% Green, and 94% Blue for a nice Cobalt color. Hope this helps. :-)
When you go for a headshot with a 40x scope, you can see your enemy wink at you before you kill them.

The sniper class can be very helpful. They take out threats and whittle down the enemy's tickets. I also spot every enemy I see.
Playing the objective isn't the only way to play the game, and conquest is only one game mode of many. The truth is that snipers have their own thing, just like any other class. ACOG scopes in real life have that chevron though. Other games (such as COD) making them customizable is slightly unrealistic.

Congrats for 500,000 subs. Hope you reach one million in a year or year 1/2 :)
I've been playing a lot of operation locker lately which can be difficult to see in, so i decided to start using the thermal scope on my MK-5. Such a beaut!
I saw a video with someone who had a green dot inside their scope, how do I get this?
NeovisionX You can change it in the settings with the new update
Is that only on PC? I have it on the Xbone
NeovisionX It's everywhere
NeovisionX green laser sight
NeovisionX They were using green laser sight of course!
Anyone else watching in 2019 for nostalgia
SteveVi0lence Yes
2022
Anyone else waiting for that Coyote sight drop? .-.
Acog 4X sight on a Type 95 is one of my favorite loadouts. I can hip fire close range and have great accuracy and medium to long range is covered by the sight, which I personally find pretty manageable.
I prefer it on the ak12 with the laser sight
theantinaziperson andthebronytolove I love the AK-12. I usually put a coyote RDS on it though. Then slap on a vertical grip with a muzzle break, and that thing is amazing. That acog on the AK-12 is pretty good too. I use both frequently.
Small sight-first Medium sight-ACOG Long sight-Hunter (6:40)
Anybody else have this issue, there's also certain ppl who i can thumbs up or down, but its not for everybody. How does this new layout encourage conversation if i can't reply to anybody.
me too! i can only reply to you and other few
Onam King This layout is horrible we're being trolled by youtube.
***** This Is soooo bad!
***** Thanks!
Because youtube doent know what there doing and tghey just keep making everything worse
my favorite is acog
Ive been usin acog since bf3 and its the most affective one. It just finds the target you know
yes
Can I get likes too? Pls ;(
+Flaming Videos Tv. No
+HERP DERP im using the sniper scope for the assualt rifles in bf3 forgot whats it called.
Carbeans?
😂
That's the proper way to say it 😂
yeah what it is KAR - BINE
eh no
I thought its how to pronounce Carbine until I found out its Car-bye(n)
Very good video, right to the point of the video with great breakdowns. These are the type of vids worth watching for learning.
Congrats on 500k! Did you see Alan Kertz's tweet about burst mode yesterday? First shot modifier moved to third round. Two low recoil rounds!
Is this a good KD ratio for a match?: 2 (I got 36 kills and 18 deaths that match)
For me- very very good :)
Marcin Grodzicki For me very very bad ;(
Z_KILLER-V
Well it's the best i've done considering i get spawn killed alot
I have the same problem as you but still I have more kills ;p
Z_KILLER-V
Really i have not been on recently, been doing other stuff just get fustrated at that game SO MUCH
Iron sights. watch your enemy pick up your load out and immediately regret it.
That’s a good one
Hey guys LevelCap here,never change
Fail.
Kobra sight
40x scope is the best! well for my style of play anyways, i only do 1000+m headshots. on every map instead of rushing to the action i go as far as i can from the action , way out in the edge of maps, hunting , so next time you play bf4 and you feel a bullet pass you by, keep on running because ive got you on my sights.
Ptfo
It's people like you that make everyone on the team lose...
Only 8x scope is good choose for sniper (I said SNIPER no camper)
To unlock the FY-JS you need to camp, 250 meter headshots 50x was kinda nasty, since my fav sight is the acog 4x
Juan Flow
No?
U can get 2 100m headshots and 1 50 for 1 ribbon
Carbeans lol
that's the proper way to pronoucne it
The pka-s sight is my favorite because its kinda like a reflex scope where you get the RDS benefit, with extra zoom for taking the targets farther a away or hidden ones.
+StealthygunnerX ' same, its heaven on the 416, just that, heavy barrel, and a stubby
***** I haven't used the M416 in a while actually. I'm not much of a tryhard, so I use a large variety of unpopular weapons.
I get that, I just love everything about the gun. one of my favorites, for hardcore at least, is the cs5, so i know what you mean
Years later and still helpful
Ik right
"Car-beans"? LMAO, interesting pronunciation of the word carbine.
I guess it's an American pronunciation.
***** If only all commenters on youtube were like you.
Reminds me of a teacher of mine that pronounced the word media as, "me-diah" lol memories
tob chi Thx for that useless piece of information !!
i use the laser sight to line up the light on the head of the target then boooooooom!!!!!
CarBeans lol
i hate it to but that really is the name just like how colonel is really kernel its weird
Lot of people even hickok45 which is really no gamer but real shooter call it this way so... its OK.
Certain sights go well with certain guns, for example, the kobra goes well with aks and the holo sight goes well with the scars
Agreed.
Well uh. Running around like COD works for me in TDM with the Groza. :l
***** Doesn't matter. Have some variety God dangit.
Alot of RDS are giving you more viewing room and less housing. Thats important for you to track your targets
PIERCESTORM PRODUCTIONS It's not all that matters. Levelcap thinks otherwise and it's not right... But everybody likes/has a opinion, so I won't hate.
Why did you change your comments WTF.
That was at least 30 degrees but whatever. Get your point
+Nicolai Jensen as soon as he said that i went to see who else noticed, looks like 45
he said 10 degrees of the target, and since the target is in the center, then he meant half the angle show in the screen.
Congrats on 500,000 subscribers!
Very imformative, answered alot of questions i had, my preferences are coyote for close, pso-1 for mid, 8x for LR
Carbeans xD
he said it right
Yeah, you can pronounce carbine either way. It's like toMAYto and toMAHto :/
Tomás Avi I know it just sounds funny though as it isn't spelt like that.
It's pronnunced correctly
not pronounced flur, its pronounced fleer
Lol, he said car beans
0:33
Cool, he's not wrong
arickettsf16 It's car bines nor car beans
+arickettsf16 never mind it depends on where you live so it sounded weird to me.
This was a great video. Definitely a good reference. You are awesome level cap keep it up!
@NeovisionX
In one of the newer updates on Xbox (I'm sure it's on everything else too) if you look through the options you'll find 'Advanced Settings' under Gameplay, here you can change everything from your HUD colors, to the size of UI, to the Icons on screen, and even your Optics and vehicle HUD color. I have mine set to 7% Red, 27% Green, and 94% Blue for a nice Cobalt color. Hope this helps. :-)
