- Another hot summer day in with temps reaching over 90 degrees. The police were relocating different groups of homeless which sent all of the users to the same place.
This is a #fpv of the parts of Los Angeles that TV Shows and Hollywood movies won’t show you.
Skid Row has been around since the 1930s and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
What can be done about this??

Welcome to Downtown Las Angeles. The situations of homelessness, drug addiction, mental illness, violence, trash and uren defacate, is horrendous. This is dangerous for those having businesses in area and people that are shopping and children. Sad that our country can send trillions to other countries but can’t take care of our own displaced people. My opinion only

Hi all! I didn’t see people who were thin, emaciated, lousy, very dirty, with visible signs of illness, in very old clothes... People have this lifestyle, and it apparently suits them very well. I want all these people to get what is not available to them, and what they most dream of!

I just got finish watching your video. I use to live in the area in the 80's, I lived on Stanford between 5th and 6th street at the Eugene Hotel right on the corner like 6th and Stanford, I notice you are going down the main street. Stanford St was very nice back in the 80's, I lived also at the Ford Hotel on 7th street, I remember there was a Post Office not far those were the days. You could get a room for 150-200 dollars a month. I remember at the Eugene Hotel were a couple manager Ann and Jessie, they had a small child. The mom of Ann was the Manager of the Ford Hotel, I moved from the Ford Hotel to the Eugene use to be a Goodwill on 7th street not far from the hotel we use to get our used t.v. and put in grocery card and bring to the rooms. On some Sunday was half price day every thing half price even the t.v. and stuff. I never lived on the street. I was always living in the hotel but it wasn't as bad as it is now. Love to watch your videos.
It's gotten worse. Villaraigosa was the last mayor to have them move their tents from 6am to 8pm.
There's a lot of new tents on that street, a lot of them look like the same brand. Somebody's been to REI or Walmart and hooked these people up. You don't see this in Philly.

Certain areas are cordoned off. For the tents/open air drug markets & the likes. Not good for tents/trash passed out drug users. In front of places of business

It’s mental illness, childhood abuse, and injuries (that you get prescribed painkillers for) that start the addiction 90% of the time. There are exceptions sure, but it usually has nothing to do with lack of opportunities. Although, this is a big country and in some places, such as Appalachia, that is the driving factor in drug abuse. I’m not defending anyone, just explaining.

Sad, you on the streets you get turned on and turned out on drugs then you give up,I was homeless for 8yrs but I had control of my situations, didn't get to close to anyone, held my ground always moving around didn't get friendly with anyone special when they doing the wrong things. It can be easy to get caught up with the wrong people when you put there that's why I wasn't going to be vulnerable to nothin that will take me in the wrong direction.

If I had a tent and was homeless, I'd rather live in the National Forest, except in winter. At least you have facilities, natural surroundings and more privacy. I guess if you want to be on the same block as your crack, meth or fentanyl connection, you have to stay in Skid Row.
If these people weren’t on drugs, they would most likely be at home with their families, working on their mental health or in a facility. I lived in my truck for about a year. I went to my hometown and parked at empty trailheads by the woods. Of course, I wasn’t a drug addict either so I had nothing to worry about on that front. But yes, sober and homeless, the woods is a much better place to camp.
