    Regarding shelter and cold weather:
    A poncho is a lot more versatile than your emergency blanket plus it would allow you to be mobile in the rain.
    Also, while that jacket is durable, a woobie would be better for sleeping. Plus you can use it in conjunction with the poncho and beanie for a colder weather jacket.

    good job on the 20 Cs. one I would add is Critter catchers such as a rat trap, fishing yo yo, fishing and frog gig with a bungee cord for making a gig pole.

    Great kit! You always seem to find some items that I need to include to my shopping list. 😂 This time it was your charging kit!

    Sir, I have to say your 2 videos on a prep bag was absolutely perfect for someone starting out. I loved how you expanded the 10C concept and explained everything out so clearly. Where were you 10 years ago when I was building my kits... Lots of trial and error especially when weight of the pack becomes a factor. Great job and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

    You need a couple more things added to your list, although I can't figure out what they would be called with the letter c. Or at least not at 3:47 in the morning.
    The first is rain cover. For me that's not just a poncho, but it's also help protect your skin from getting waterlogged. When that happens, you're skin very tender, making it very difficult to work.
    In my gear I have a tube of Vaseline. I can use it to make fire starters, protect my hands in a wet environment, as well as avoid windburn on my face. And if push comes to shove, I can use it to make a makeshift candle. It's awesome that you waterproof the jacket, but layers always work best and are more easily adjusted.
    Another thing that I would include would be something in the neighborhood of sunscreen. You're prepared for the cold but you're not prepared for the hot. And if you get a bad burn you're in trouble. Depending on how bad the burn is it will also make you dehydrated, and of course keep you from operating at full capacity.
    If you're packing for the cold, you definitely either need a mylar blanket or bivy. That can make the difference between life or death in severe cold, but it can also be used for signaling.
    And finally, something that comes to mind, that starts with a C! And that would be a contractor's bag. You can use it as a poncho, use it to help make shelter, or use it as a ground cloth.
    Wooded areas are always more human /damp, and if you're using your tarp as a lean-to, you're going to want a ground cloth. It will keep you from pulling moisture out of the ground, and it will help the ground from taking all your heat. Also you can stuff it with small boughs, leaves, etc. to use as a sleeping pad.
    I have a hand-crank with one USB port. I bought one for my sister-in-law when she first moved to the Atlantic coast of Florida, and sure enough she was the only one that could charge her phone. Of course now we've all gotten power banks, but those run out, especially if you're charging other things.
    When it comes to power banks, I have a 5K, a 10k, another 10k with a full solar panel, along with a 10k radio/flashlight combo with a solar panel and a crank for charging in addition to AC, along with the USB/hand crank. (It's also a great deterrent to keep Girl Scouts off their phones.)
    One thing that always gets left off of these lists is some form of entertainment, distraction, etc. Concentration can be improved not just with supplements but with something as simple as a yo-yo or a deck of cards.
    LOL You just got to comfort, I was still on concentration.
    I love both videos, thank you for taking time to put them together.😊

    Good ideas. Consider a 20000mAH solar charger power bank with USB ports and led lights.

    Superbly designed kit .
    I'm looking forward to your new bugbout bag video .
    You're obviously very knowledgeable and I've already improved my kit using your ideas .
    Thanks again.

    Very well thought-out and organized. I would add a few more items to the cleaning section like finger nail clippers and a small comb. A scrubbing pad cut in half and something to clean my combat item. Nice job!

      Good ideas. I could expand the Cleanliness category with subsequent layers, up to and including Epic Wipes, disposable razors, etc.

    Enjoy watching your well thought out and organized concepts, kits, and videos!
    Question: Evidence-based medicine or study to support your interest in supplements? Just curious. Thanx.

      I do basic research on the supplements I take. The nootropics in this video I've used for some time with good results.

    How big of a bag do you need to house ALL of these items (1-20)? Impressive list, but it appears that it would be too big to carry comfortably.

  • @wjf213
    @wjf213 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't get it, how is it that you have only 5k subs? As well done as your videos are, you should have at least 10 times that amount by now. Again, I'm taking away a few more ideas here.
    Something you might want to consider under comfort is bug juice. Nothing sucks more than trying to sleep while being eaten alive by bugs. Also, have you ever considered adding Orajel with 20% benzocaine for things like bee stings, blisters, minor cuts and what not? That stuff comes in pretty handy, especially for kids who can't handle much pain like a bee sting. Keep up the great work.

    Your 20 C's are pretty good, but I would consider communication an important one. In the event your cell doesn't work, do you have any backup comms?

    • @DontForgetYourLunch35
      @DontForgetYourLunch35  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m actually considering replacing Comfort with Communication. I do have the Garmin GPS which doubles as a satellite messaging device. I could add some two-way radios. Thanks for the comment.

    I think the point of the C's was to make it short enough to actually remember what all the items are, being that they start with a C. Once you have 20 there's no way you're gonna easily remember all of them.

    I don’t bother with having a so called bug out bag. I have a get home bag and an INCH bag. If I’m forced to abandon my home, then I’m probably leaving for an indefinite amount of time.

    • @DontForgetYourLunch35
      @DontForgetYourLunch35  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand. I’m working on an INCH bag system right now as well. The bugout bag for me is for if I have to travel on foot. The inch bag is for my vehicle.

    • @christophersteingart2237
      @christophersteingart2237 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DontForgetYourLunch35 I plan my INCH bag under the premise that I may have to hike out, due to traffic jams, roadblocks and checkpoints, or vehicles being too much of a target. However, I do keep additional equipment and supplies in my vehicle. I also keep an additional large bag to throw in my vehicle at a moment’s notice along with my INCH bag. I’m ready to grab just my INCH bag, and ditch my vehicle if necessary.
