      Lol I agree that blew me away once I seen how much stuff is actually in that Haver sack or ruck sack but very nice I like carrying alot of gear I don't mind when I hike I take a weeks worth of gear no matter what I live in the White Mountains , NH and ove been lost and had to stay out there for a couple days in - 20 F degrees it was cold and we have 6 months of snow pretty much and it's usually 2 to 4 feet roughly but I had my bag and I made it out threw my training I've taught my self I'm a survivalist but with out my gear I would have had a rough time or froze maybe I always carry a lighter with me unfortunately I smoke but I hike alot to make up for it lol jk but I say if you don't mind carrying it take it buy its not to heavy I'm 6'3 and 178 lb but I'm good with a 40 or 50 pound bag

    This is definitely one of the more well thought out kits I've seen. Many kits are either underpacked (altoids tins) or overpacked (hunter big bags). You have good coverage and the bag looks light to carry. As other mentioned, consider transferring it to a backpack, ie something light though (not a Goruck but something more like an Osprey) If I would add constructive feedback I'd do the following: I'd make sure the headlamp is one that takes regular batteries either AA or AAA. That makes it easy to swap out rather than waiting for it to charge. I know you have other flashlights, ie the Thrunite that takes standard batteries but it’s easier if you standardize it across imo.
    I'd add a car jumper (Nocoboost), tire repair things (though that may already be in the car and not in the bag itself).
    I’d add a Platypus (compatible with Sawyern Mini) and remove the Smart Bottle of water. This will save you bulk.
    The Ti EDC Wrench isn’t as valuable as I thought it would be (I have it too and discovered its shortcoming). Issue is when you really think about it, it has a very very limited usecase and your Knipex is actually a better tool. Ironically what would supplement/complement the Knipex XS is the Knipex 125. The Knipex XS by itself covers a lot of ground but it works really well with the 125.
    You don’t need the Farmer X Alox as you already have 2 other saws and you have the Spirit. Though it might be a 'might as well' situation but if you were carrying this out of the car all those things add weight. Between your saw, your Spirit, your alox and a whole bunch of other ones, you have a lot of duplication.
    I’d add a few more Bics. Very cheap. Lightweight. Imo better than any other fire-starting method. A Bic will easily last 72 hours. 3 even moreso. While I'm not a huge fan of duplication, Bics are an easy recommendation. In fact I actually view Bics as more practical than ferrocerium rods as even a child can light things on fire with it.
    I'd add something that adds distance to sight, ie either a monocular or binoculars. This allows you to see danger before it comes or to find places to go to. I'd add black trash contractor bags, they can be used to carry but also can be used as cover (when ductaped together).

    Nice comprehensive vehicle bag sir, you've put a lot of thought into your vehicle carry. Many folks that I grew up with would often laugh at me and call me a "MacGyver nerd before MacGyver"...yet these same folks would (and still whenever I'm back in Florida)... still ask to borrow this or that when they need something in a pinch. I just say while lending them whatever little tool, just carry one, then if or when you need it, you'll have it. After all of these many-many years, it warms my heart to finally see some of the guys from our old martial arts dojo, and some from school carrying at least a few tools. I always joke with them and say...it took you long enough. 🤔🤭

    I’d probably…. Definitely add some small paracord loops on items that can accommodate (flashlight, etc ). Perhaps add a ranger band to loose items like the headlamp strap.

    Your kit is super, thank you for sharing. I know how much effort + money goes into making sure oneself and loved ones are prepared as best can be. We've used our kits many times over, having been through several emergency evacuations, plus catastrophic life threatening situations.
    One thing I would suggest to add is copies of important papers/records including proof of residency for your home/apartment etc.. ( 2 recent utility bills), plus identifying pictures of yourself with family, pets etc..
    Very sad that we must consider nuclear these days, happy to see your iodide.
    Blessings for success on TH-cam. 🙂

    Great car bag. Some higher end items. It looks like you can afford to buy a 2 inch shoulder pad for that bag.
    At 10 to 12 lbs, your shoulders gonna start to get sore from carrying it a couple miles. Maxpedition has a good one. Then you can fold your bandanas, and store them in the shoulder strap. This also creates Xtra padding.
    You said bag weight is 22lbs. You will thank yourself for the shoulder pad in the long run. Take care my friend, and thanks for the vid.

    Another really cool kit!
    I would be very interested to know more about how you think about this kit and its purpose. It seems to be sort of a kit designed to do many different types of tasks. Would you try to take this with you if you had to leave your car or would you just take you get home bag? Sorry, I guess I’m just a little confused on how you envision using this bag.
    Anyway… thanks for another fun video that got me thinking!

    • @DontForgetYourLunch35

      My idea for this kit is just a catch all, EDC vehicle bag. Random items that I might need and I'm not close to home. If I need to get home on foot, then I might rummage through this bag and grab some items I might need for the trip.

    That’s a pretty good kit. I know that some things in it have a limited shelf life which cannot be avoided but one of the most important things is the water filter, do you know if those filters have a limited shelf life ?

    • @DontForgetYourLunch35
      @DontForgetYourLunch35  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t believe the filters go bad, unless they experience freezing temps shortly after being used.

    • @jonfisher9214
      @jonfisher9214 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DontForgetYourLunch35 if they freeze while the filter is wet it destroys the pores and makes the filter useless. But if it's dried out completely after use it won't be damaged by freezing temps. I find back flushing with clean water regularly keeps the flow rate higher and will extend the life of the filter.

    As an EMT I'm going to tell you to ditch the chest decompression needle. It isn't needed, you won't use it and in order to use it you have to not only be trained but have extensive practice. Even in the EMS world the liklihood of us ever using one is pretty low. You can kill someone with it if you do it wrong. I don't understand why preppers feel the need to have medical gear that goes beyond their scope of training. Does it make you feel cool or something to have it? Proper BLS skills are far more important to have than ALS skills and BLS equipment will save far more lives and be far more beneficial than the ALS equipment you have just for the "cool factor". And before someone chimes in and says "well I got it in case a trained person needs it" I'll be the first to tell you, as a trained person, that no provider will ever ask to use your equipment. They aren't going to jeopardize their license and their job by using your stuff. Much better ways to spend your money. Judging by your kit, you definitely bought based on cool factor rather than necessity. Radiation detector? Faraday bag? Please. The whole thing about EMP's has been grossly exaggerated. A tool pouch which has turned into a junk drawer. No organization, no thought. Do you even have skills to use that stuff? Judging by how neat and shinny it is, you've clearly never used it or practiced with it.

    Help me out with the handcuff stuff, 1. Why worry about carrying them, if we're still under rule of law and someone whos not a peace officer uses them on somone else then your talking about charges of false imprisonment to kidnapping, if it's without rule of law then I'm trying to evade threats or neutralize them not wrestle to put them in cuffs. 2. The handcuff key placement, these are better suited on you than in a bag (one hidden in the waistband for your use and one easy to use on others) or am I missing something.

      It depends. This bag sits in the car so weight is not really a consideration. If we're talking Bugout bag or Get Home bag then yes I try to keep the weight down, but I don't have any set maximum limits.

    way too much stuff, are you trained to carry this weight over a distance on one shoulder. like already mentioned, a ruck would be more suitable. doubled items candling devices, cutting tools, zip ties, fe rod and cordage make no sense in my humble opinion, if not cross loaded. if you loose the bag, you also loose your redundancies. you made some pretty good considerations though, but I think it is over packed...

    Your "trauma" kit needs to be seriously reconsidered. Study, learn, and get training on the MARCH-E algorithm, and especially for the decompression needle. Good Samaritan laws protect you from frivolous law suits when rendering trauma care, but when you make more holes (decompression needle) you need to be a medical provider to do so. Then rebuild your kit, or buy an appropriate IFAK.

    • @DontForgetYourLunch35
      @DontForgetYourLunch35  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is interesting how a percentage of comments on my medical kits automatically assume I have no experience. I’ve personally performed around a dozen needle decompressions on trauma patients, as this is my job. I’m not going to dart anyone I don’t know. These kits are for myself, my family, and close friends should they find themselves in need. These days trying to be a “hero” is just too risky. When it comes to complete strangers I’ll stop bleeding and perform compressions, but that’s about it.
