I do remember a fella one time that got his hat sucked off his head while standing on the ladder, but I always wear a headset instead of earplugs so my hat is safe! 😁
@@SSaugaCriss Trim means adjusting the fuel control to make a specific EPR when the part power stop is engaged. Setting is based on temp and barometric pressure.
We were doing an engine trim after an engine change. We have to make adjustments on the fuel control after each run-up to part power. No need to keep going back and forth with the ladder. 🤷🏼♂️
Beautiful sound!
Ahh... Ship 9020... i did the exceptance check on that plane back in 1990 in Tampa....
Kind of odd considering it was built in 1993!
man i love that pratt and whitney sound
Gotta love the JT3D. The Delta MD88 is and remains the only low-bypass powered jet aircraft I've ever flown in!
Its a JT8D
Miss that aircraft.
Sure miss the jt8d noise over the neighborhood
I agree! I love airplane noise!! 🥰
I want to hear the shutdown sound too. But you didn't record it...😞
Love it.
Back when jet engines were made by people who had balls.
What's in front of the engine inside the cabin?
Chairs
Why isn't the plane moving.?
Brakes are set. We are in the run-up area for an engine trim.
Ladder not removed before run up? Bad idea.
Don’t worry. I’ve trimmed many JT-8’s and I haven’t lost a patient yet. Don’t be a critique!

Generally anything not directly infront of the receiving end isn't in much danger of being sucked into the engine

Yes! This was a post engine change trim. 👍🏻

DTW ?
Detroit Metro Airport = DTW
Yes. This was in the Ground Run-Up Enclosure (GRE) at DTW.
Bit silly leaving the steps there!
