I believe from everything I've seen on this pedal, it is a Boss Blues Driver clone. I think Joyo is renaming it to "Blues Overdrive" which is the name listed on many sites, including Amazon.
@@BudgetPedalChap Blues Driver -> BD -> Bright Day. AFAIK it's a clone of the Wazacraft Blues Driver, with the switch for the Keeley/Fat mod. *I think* 😀
@@jfiery I've a modeller that has models of a Morning Glory and a Blues Driver, and I own a Bright Day and it's much closer to the Blues Driver. Like MUCH closer.
@alister667 thanks for the info. I've never played Morning Glory. Maybe it's something all together different. I just know that my Blues Dtiver which was probably made five or so years ago doesn't really sound like that pedal Beyond both being overdrives.
I didn't either until someone made me aware of it in a comment. Well, I had to get onto joyo to see if they'd want me to help raise the profile a bit 🤣
Never seen so many differing comments to one of your demo vids BPC. This pedal really caused a bit of controversial debate. I'd only add, a pedal like this that can provide so many cool sounds & tones at this price is a winner 👍

Good evening dear friend, for its price it's a pretty good pedal, I've had it at home for a few months and it fits perfectly into the collection of pedals from Joyo. For me in the price range it's absolutely OK. Greetings and have a nice weekend. Pavel CZ👍👍👍
It definitely does a thing. Have you tried that Danelectro Vibe? There's one in my local GC for like $39 and Ive been debating getting it. If you have tried it how's it compare to the Shaky Jimi?
@@jfiery get it. Get it now. It's a pretty accurate replica of a univibe and they go for at least double that often. I had one once and it was great, I recommend it highly
Yeah, it seems to be dividing opinion between the morning glory and bd2. I might get one of my pedal builder buddies to have a look and see what the circuit is closest to 👍
@ definitely post what you find out. I’m in the minority when I say I don’t like the Boss Blues Driver. I was disappointed when I bought The Bright Day. I thought it was an MG clone before plugging it in.

2:17 yes indeed! I use a Behringer compressor for that always on push but you gotta appreciate the versatility here. Sounds great!!
I use a comp in exactly the same way. Mind is a JSA comp, but I've used the Marshall one in the past too

Tone City Blues Man is by FAR the best Bluesbreaker clone out there for the price. Everything else I’ve tried sucks pretty hard (Mooer B-Crab)
