    I always love how good you are at writting riffs that are 100% spot on the genre you claim to play. Kind of a pet peeve of mine, but I absoutely hate when guys like Jared Dines or Nik Nocturnal do "genre" type videos and the only thing they really know how to write is metalcore (Still love those giys work, it's just innacurate sometimes). You good sir, on the other hand, have an incredible understanding of every metal subgenre and the way you emulate all of them is freaking awesome. You are a man of many talents and even more riffs

    Sent mine back, the B string sounded really weird on this guitar, and I was not the only one with this issue apparently. Search "Mark Holcomb 7 SVN b-string problem" on Google. The guitar was pretty amazing though, lovely finish and great feel. I tried to fix the problem by myself but that B string sounded really bad after the 12th fret, even more when I was in drop A or drop G. So yeah, I decided to send it back unfortunately.
    EDIT : you can actually hear at 4:25 the muffled tone when he plays the G string. And with the neck pickup it's even worse! So if you buy it, make sure to check that first. Maybe it won't bother you, but it's pretty annoying for a guitar at that price IMO.

    What is the most bang for your buck, top notch, above and beyond guitar for a sharp djent sound whilst being the most versatile even in regards to a clean tone with no distortion? Is an 8 string guitar over doing it? What is the next brand of guitar that compares and competes with these guitars of such caliber?

    That was awesome! Wuts it tuned in? Sounds like a whole step down but u played one finger bar cords on the low string.🤔

    How is the build quality on yours? Got two of these with fred issues, sharp edges. And some marks on the wood finish.

    Do they have this color available? I thought they only have Holcomb burst and Natural satin one

    Just got one of these, and maybe it's old strings, but I really hate how power chords sound on the 7th string. I thought chords didn't get uselessly muddy unless you were in drop G or something.
    It's my 1st 7 string guitar, so can anyone give me tip on clearing up the low end?
    I'm running the guitar through guitar rig with an overdrive "pedal" in front of an "Uberschall" amp, and through, a Joey Strugess cab IR loaded in "Pulse". It sounds awesome for my EMG loaded six string ESP, but dogshit for my first foray into extended range guitars.

      Old strings will definitely contribute but also the gauge of the low string. What gauges are you using? I never really go beyond 60 gauge for Standard B or a 64 gauge for Drop A on the low string. Thanks for watching! :)

      @@peteplaysmusic Well I ordered a new set of strings that are 10-64 since that was what was listed on PRS' page for this model. I honestly plan to switch between B standard and drop A for the foreseeable future. Besides, I hate having to tune flat to avoid pitch spikes when picking aggressively.

    • @peteplaysmusic
      @peteplaysmusic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! I’m not familiar with the MC ES7 but I usually treat all my guitar tones very similarly, whether it’s using software or a real amp. It’s always Guitar > Noise Gate > Overdrive Pedal > The Amp > Cab. A setup similar to this will get you pretty close to the tone in this video. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! :)

    How is the binding job on the neck? I was kinda disappointed with Holcomb SE in the shop as it looked like either the neck got broken and re-set or the masking tape got off during the painting, so they had to brush paint it afterwards - it looked pretty obvious as the line was wavy and had a different tone.

      That's the satin neck finish. Their lines aren't perfect but they do that on purpose for the feel of the neck. I played one today and noticed the lines between the gloss and the satin weren't perfect. It's weird but it's supposed to be that way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
