      Netvor OC yes I realise it’s a range extender, but it burns fossil fuels. It is not needed if there is enough of a network of dc chargers and the car has a decent range. That’s the point of 100% electric, to eliminate fossil fuel use.

    If the ratio of the steering wheel pulley is the same like the motor or 1-1 ratio then you should connect both the same way the main motor is mounted the way to no waste energy on the pulleys and belt due to friction, also you should ad a variable control circuit that turns on the steering system just when its needed, not on all the time.

    This is great.
    An extra belt could be adapted to the motor to rotate a high capacity (say 90 Amps) alternator to power 12V DC for the vehicles electrical components.
    Again, a DC - DC converter can be used to bridge alternator and battery for auto-charging of battery (with a good charge controller to prevent over-charge from destroying the battery).

    • @Tore_Lund
      @Tore_Lund 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Stay away from automatic gearboxes for ev conversions. they are less efficient than manuals and you rarely need gears at all in an EV. Likevise with AC and powersteering. You might get away with an electric powersteering rack, as they only use power when turning the wheel with force, but the exercise here is to make as efficient a vehicle as possible, so preferable you get a motor that has enough torque to drive the differential directly, which has around 1:4 gearing, so you don't need a gearbox at all.

      @@hameeds01 i agree that this build is sketchy, but that battery is 60 V and 40 Ah so 60*40= 2400 Wh or 2.4 Kwh, and with 3 Kw motor it's around 48 minutes of full power usage time, but if for example you just cruise at 50 km/h just to negotiate the friction on road and air you don't need a full 3 kw of power, it more like half of that, so it's safe to say you could drive at least 40 km using full power all the time, or more like 70 km with total efficiency, but in real world i would say this car would go 50-60 km with full charge, because of heat loss of motor, transmission, controller, used energy to power steering and etc. By the way @Debraj Das your answer was soo stupid it even hurt my brain.

    You could put a vacuum pump on their as well for the brakes. Get one off of an Isuzu diesel engine. It's mounted on the back of the alternator. Just get the one that has sealed bearings instead of the one that uses engine oil to lube it. Is that power steering pump turning the right direction?

      Exactly.. And then less weight & more mileage was available. The permanent noise of the steering pump motor would also be eliminated. That mechanical hydraulic pump is only suitable for engines that run continously like ICs.
