- After seeing related videos I decided to make a (quick) playthrough of this game not to mention demonstrating some unique features that the Virtual On games doesn't have.
Note: I edited some stuff to make the video shorter, mainly shortening the loading screen parts and cutting the credits entirely. - เกม

Seeing this I don't understand how Bandai never asked Capcom (a few years ago) or the current company that develops GvsG EXVS for a crossover fighting game with the quality gameplay of said series. I mean it has enough good franchises / characters and apparently it used to release a ton of games featuring them. Now we're lucky to get an Another Century every few years (which are decent but I think From Software can do better).
@Axel7043 At the character select screen, press triangle at the highlighted characters listed below in order:
R-1 - Dunbine, L-Gaim, Zeta, Dunbine, Dragonar
R-2 Powered - Zeta (twice) , Dragonar, Dunbine, Dragonar
R-3 - L-Gaim, Gundam X, Galia, Zeta, Dunbine
Also the game does actually tell you how to unlock them after the credits, it's just the language barrier factor preventing us from knowing.
Wow, I didn't know that they have this kind of game back in PSone, I'm a fan of SRW since PSone's era and R-Troopers is one of my favorites among the varieties in the game's series. ---Variable Formation!!! XD
I think i'll continue playing virtual on.

I remember my dad bringing this game home as a gift, from vacationing in Thailand. It was black and white, because of my PAL Playstation, I didn't understand jack fuck of what anyone said, but I absolutely loved that game to death.
How? I really can't play it at all. It's very hard...

I did played that long ago, it brings back memories. Since I did used Galia or GX Divider.

Used to play this in PS in it's heyday. Solid versus gameplay.

How are you keeping your lock on the enemy mech? I hold down L2 or R2 while dashing but it has a tendency to drop the lock. The other option is shot after dash but it leaves me open to attacks.
Dash Attacks will always lock-on to your opponent. It's best to observe where your opponent is dashing and intercept accordingly(like attacking after their dash attack almost ends or so.. takes practice!).
Also when they super jump you can jump-cancel (R1 then quickly press L1) to immediately position yourself in front of them so you can easily connect a super move before they land.
Thanks for the jump cancel idea. My only issue with attacking to lock on is it leaves me open to attacks that have high levels of tracking if we had fired simultaneously. I realized that when you use L2 or R2, the turn buttons, and dash while holding one or the other down it also works as a lock on. That way it's useful for waiting for an opening and dodging attacks. Though sometimes the lock on drops. I'm not sure if it has something to do with distance or my controller is just broken.
Julius Platon Ah I almost forgot that L2/R2 + side dash locks on to opponent. Perhaps your controller didn't register the L2/R2 buttons making it a regular dash instead? In case you're not aware you can cancel your dash by pressing the dash button + opposite dash direction, you can make some strategic attacks with this.
Does this work after an attack during a dash? I know you can cancel a dash by guarding as well.
Once the dash attack starts you can't cancel it.
Just this alone, we're already happy. Until modern game companies with questionable marketing practices ruined everything
How could you not finish off Shining Gundam, of all things, without the T-Link Knuckle?

I could have, but since my HDD space was limited that time I was focusing in finishing each match as quickly as possible.

During my play through a few months ago, that was my primary method for finishing off Shining Gundam. Real Robots Final Attack is probably the only time Shining Gundam and R-1 will be in the same game.
There's another game actually, it's titled "Super Robot Spirits" for the N64. Check it out especially the commercial where you can see a cool R-1 vs Shining Gundam scene.
