Non diver Grandmother here…as always. Yours is at the top of my fav channels … Never boring, and always interesting and informative. I will never dive… but.. if I did.. I would feel safe with you guys.
I’m a virtual cave diver with four months experience and about 20 dives. Only because I watch your channel and I love it. I don’t think I could cave dive because I’m afraid of the dark, not sure if I’m claustrophobic, but definitely cannot afford all of this equipment. I am learning so much though. Thanks for this video, enjoyed going cave diving with you guys.
This is obviously the rambling of a non-diver here, but after all of the cave diving content I've watched, I've started to believe that there are few friendships like a cave diving friendship. Your lives are regularly in one another's hands and the amount of trust and vulnerability there is staggering. A scary thought, but also very heartwarming in a way?
Same with fighter jet pilot & his buddy Navigator. A little bit to a lower extent as they are not always few seconds away from death unlike cave divers but close in combat.
The more and more I see of this channel the more I wanna learn to dive. As someone who is somewhat scared of the ocean this makes me wanna leave that comfort zone and aim for an open water certification at some point once I have the opportunity to be able to! Thank you guys for showing the bad and the good of diving and much love to you both!
I would highly recommend a try dive or Discover Scuba class or similar. This will familiarize you with dive gear, give you some time in the water to try out an actual dive, plus the instructors will be able to help you with problems or anything that comes up to make the dive as fun as possible. Plus if you do decide to do the Open Water classes, there’ll be pool/confined water work which helps you develop your basic confidence and skills with the gear and with diving. Only after this point will you do the open water dives and even then, the instructor will be guiding and supporting you. I was incredibly nervous and kept screwing up during OWD and my instructors supported me 100%.
@@eliz_scubavn Thanks for the advice I'll have to look in to it more, try dive / discover scuba is definitely something I'll do once I get the time to start looking in to it fully haha
I would also highly recommend it. I am about to do my pool session this week and have already had a blast. Make sure you get a with a good dive shop and get a good instructor because that can really make or break your experience
@@ItsJustin177 For sure, thanks for the vouch, 100% will look in to opportunities that I can get to so I can try scuba! And hopefully I'll enjoy it enough to want to work towards a cert!
I can watch or listen to diving or climbing. I love the sounds, of rocks, rope, bubbles, OC or CCR, I just listen to the sounds has I fall asleep. It actually keeps me happy and motivated.
In my view, uncut video is great for understanding the details that go into these dives, even if it is mundane. You guys may not be the best cinematographers but that is not the reason I watch your channel. I appreciate the authenticity you(Gus) and Woody bring to your videos.
I’m a stay at home mom in Florida - and I enjoy learning from your videos - I do not dive I live vicariously threw trained professionals whom show me places I’ll never be able to see 🌞🌞🌞 God bless you Brave men be well be Blessed stay safe always 🌞
The beauty of nature. Millions of years in the making puts everything in perspective. I used to dive ( recreation ) a long time ago; it brings back the magic of underwater memories. Thanks for sharing.🙏❤️👌. Good job
I’m getting hyped up for my dive trip in a few days (and my first ever SSI course!) and seeing these kinds of videos only make me want to get into the water so much. I’m always interested in seeing how other dive groups to my own do their dives too.
I love when you guys post you’re cave diving adventures, you guys should post you’re cave dive videos on the dive talk membership with no cuts I would love to see your videos.
The control you guys have while diving is spectacular!! People don't realize how many hours, week, months of training it takes to be this perfect in control of your bodies (it's human nature to use our hands to grab things) you guys are simply he best!! Beautiful! ❤
I really appreciate all the advice and coverage you did in this video. I learned a lot and honestly your dives are gorgeous.. I would definitely put cave diving on my bucket list now.
Best part of Monday mornings!! Such a cool shot when you three were hovering around that organism, the stillness provided from the perfect trim and lack of bubbles from the rebreathers.....I dont know, just a cool shot at 17:43 ish. Woody is obviously in the top 5 when it comes to underwater videographers. lol
I think for holidays you should do a bloopers video. Your channel is priceless, everyone enjoys so much. Would be too die for to see your bloopers...,🤙🥴🤣
It’s so funny. I watched ‘47 Metres Down’ yesterday and the amount of yelling I did at the tv and characters for horrible diving practice and stupidity (I have never dove on anything other than a hookah when I was a kid, and I’m taking about a fictional thriller film too, so yes. Ik. It’s not supposed to be accurate) but after watching so many of your videos and watching you guys dive, I couldn’t help it😅

@S. C. I do live right on Lake Michigan on the Michigan side I have not really seen divers out there per se but do you think there can be plenty of diving opportunity in Lake michigan? I'm sure there is perhaps I'll check into that. Thanks for encouraging me I thought I was way too old
Nothing makes me want to cave dive more than listening Woody's wonder of his surroundings. Its like a kid in a candy shop; I find it very endearing and you guys are great ambassadors for the sport. Love this video!
This is absolutely incredible. What a privilege to be able to do this!! I have the opportunity to get my scuba certification this spring. I am DEFINITELY going to do it!!
I'm a binge watcher because I'm about a 4 month newbie. I love watching all the different types of episodes you put out. My question is why do you not put out and show more of your own cave diving adventures and why is there only like 1 show a month unless maybe it's a stream. There's lots from years ago but seems the episodes are getting spread out over longer periods of time. Like, why aren't there weekly videos? I wish there were more videos of your own dives. As long as you've been diving, why aren't there? ThNks ans stay safe always guys. One of my new favorite channels to watch!!! ❤️ you guys. God bless and always keep you safe and bring you back home. Great narration, Gus! Looks like an interesting dive. You can definitely do that on a set of doubles and stage/deco cylinder(s), but nothing like being on a CCR and not even having to worry about it! :)
Another great video!! I’ve only dove open water 2 times. One in Okinawa, Japan, and one in the Great Barrier Reef, in Queensland, Australia. Saw dolphins, sea turtles, and a lot of colorful fish in the GBR, and visibility was amazing (only went to around 60ft). I’m all honesty, Okinawa was overall a better dive I think…clarity was amazing, and we didn’t have to dive further than about 20 feet to see such amazing sights, though we did dive to about 70 feet at our deepest point of the dive. I wish I could dive again. No gear, and I live in Washington state…and I hate cold water, 😂.
I second the option to watch 2 hours of cave diving. It terrifyingly scares me in real life but love to watch it lol you guys got some extra sized bull balls

@@georgefloyd4143 While that is true in many places, particularly when there is recreational use of the water, the descent from that pool where they gear up isn't a secret.
