    I love the techniques you demonstrated here, and will now give it a try myself. As for the video’s music, after the 437th verse, I found it grew a little repetitive. The first 436 verses were great though. 😉

    I normally use my pencils to make a wash or as a dot filter for streaking. Never tried them as a replacement for acrylics.

    These look really good, I have the chipping and ageing set but wasn't quite sure the best way to utilise them but now after watching this I think I will give them a try, I wanted them to give the rusty effect nails in wood gets when its really old and after watching this I am glad I bought them. The thumbnai picture has exactly the effect I was looking for, amazing work!

    Very nice work, Jeff. I'm a fan of using their pencils on my rusty cars. I like some of the techniques you used like shaving the pigments. I'll have to try that. My favorite color by far is the chipping color. It really works as it's labeled. Thanks for a great video!

      Hey Flying Valiant, Thanks! Yeah that is one of my favorite colors too!...the blendability of the paint is so Awesome!..took me a little messing around with but I'm really starting to like them...I used the pencils to color the concrete in this video too!

    It seems to me to be a lot of extra work just to create a dry dust pigment or using as a liquid wash.

    Using cheap pencils from a well known online shop =>72pcs. for less than half of the price of the AK ones. I think there isnt much difference in quality. I like to use pencils because you didnt have to use paints and therefore no cleaning of brushes or so. At least if you didnt like what you have done - just use water and remove everything. I like your technique with the sponge - will definitely try this in the future. Can you spray a varnish over this or will it ruin all? thx for sharing.

    • @JeffReiten
      @JeffReiten  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Rock Strongo, I'm really starting to like the pencils...you can really achieve an awesome overall look and they are so forgiving...the blendability is one of my favorite things and if you don't like what you've done- clean with water and start over...I have tested both clear gloss and dullcoat over the pencils finish and have seen no clouding..

      I was wondering if I could use my ordinary watercolour pencils too, thanks for settling this, it means my choices kept from the 4 AK ones I bought to literally hundreds. (Yes I hoard art supplies lol!).
