Man, how many years has it been? I was obsessed with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball as a kid. I’m 25 now and a couple of years ago I played through XI for a trip down memory lane; it felt so satisfying knowing the series was still going, still there like the little kid inside me is. Then today I seen the news about Akira Toriyama and it brought it all back. He made life better for so many of us growing up, and I think that’s a beautiful legacy to leave behind; as long as those adventurous kids live on deep inside us, Toriyama lives on too. Rest in peace to a once in a generation talent, what a life to live and what an incredible thing he done for us all.
I have been wanting a good old fashioned JRPG to sink hundreds of hours of my life in, and from what I hear, this is a good one. Can't wait for DQ XI:S on my Switch :D
@@aroncarbajal4922 Either DQ VIII (8) or DQ XI are great entry points, but XI was designed with newcomers in mind to help ease them into not only the feel of the game but the game mechanics as well. So if you're new the series, it might be best to start with DQ XI first and then if you enjoyed that game, try out DQ 8 and the other games of the series too. ^^ If you end up loving DQ XI, you will definitely love DQ VIII (it's my personal favorite and the one I first started with when I first tried the series myself. It was love at first sight (or play-through rather lol) Been a fan of the series ever since and even started delving into the older entries, each one being a blast to play through. ^^ I'd definitely say though XI is right up there with DQ 8 as my favorites of the series, but that's just me. ^^ Gonna re-buy this for the Switch even though I bought it when it first came out for PS4. I can't even remember one bad thing about this game, and I don't regret buying, playing or loving this game. I am very, very hyped for the 4 Heroes. Definitly a luminary Main here boys.
You could feel the heartbreak in Sakurai’s stream when he had to say the Overture wasn’t a battle theme. He really wanted to get that theme in. Thanks a lot Sugiyama.
Friendship ended with *Pokemon Sword and Shield,* now *Dragon Quest 11* is my new best friend. Edit: For a while now Fire Emblem and Megami Tensei have replaced DQ as my best friend
Sword & Shield was a disappointment. Gamefreak is too lazy to even make area textures and animations. Square Enix is willing to delay their games to make sure that their finished product feels natural and lifelike, even if it's not made with their home engines like Crystal Works or Luminous Studio. Kingdom Hearts III, Dragon Quest XI, and Final Fantasy VII Remake are all made using Unreal Engine 4

It's not really their fault. Square Enix never really advertised the series as much as they should have so when people saw Eleven, they were like, "Who the hell is this?!" or, "Oh another anime swordfighter." I know it gets annoying to hear that a lot but you can't blame them. But I hope Eleven, Three, Four, and Eight's entry into smash will help introduce people to the series.
I played through XI and I positively ADORED it. I never beat the true final boss though... I should get around to that before I get into another ga- OOH PERSONA 5!
