Hi, I've had a BX700UI for at least three years and just got the continuous alarm telling me the battery has died. So was looking round for info on changing battery myself!! However, you mention Solar Panels towards the end of the video, and since I've had 10 panels installed a year ago for about £4000, I thought I'd make a comment about this... Now, I think it's a waste of money! (I'm in West London, UK). OK, in a whole year I've generated 2.5MWh which seems amazing, but in winter the panels only generate about 1kWh in a day. UK is so so cloudy. The panels need sunlight to work. So in summer I guess my best was 18kWh in one day, far above my consumption for the day. However, I cannot see a battery as being cost-effective. It might get a charge in summer months, but would be quite useless in winter, as there isn't even enough power to run the house, let alone charge the battery. Did you install? Rgds John
Can you replace the battery of these? They specifically say that battery is not user replaceable and that is a main feature a UPS should have - replaceable battery. I assume it is possible just not so user friendly like having to unscrew things.
Stanislav Markov that a good question I would say for the price it wouldn’t be replaceable as normal the one you pay over £200 are replaceable, I will have to check to see if this one would be.
on most of the "Back-UPS" series, the battery is NOT meant to be user replaceable, but if the UPS only uses 1 lead battery some have a cover that can be opened. None the less, since they are just lead batteries without any "DRM" controller board, they too can be replaced. In the "smart UPS" series, ALL batteries are user replaceable and the whole chassis opens for easy access. You can either use the "official" over priced APC replacement batteries, or generic batteries of the same rating by any decent vendor, since the physical size of the batteries are pretty standard
Hiya yes it is possible. There are two screws at the bottom of the front cover. Unscrew these and you can slide the front plate downwards and take it off. Then you can unplug the battery and it is simple to take out. The battery is a CSB GP1272 F2 12V 28W.
I have one. Power went out and it did not power anything. Computer and monitor went off? Then I tried with a simple charger. Unplugged unit and did not even charge? Not plugged into surge either? Any advice?
When the unit itself is plugged in it is always charging the battery they call it trickle charging so when the power goes out it will switch over to the battery to keep your devices running.
@@mickeyoberabor Hmm when you got it did you connect the positive (red wire) to the battery? if you have and it still isn't working contact the website where you bought it from and see if they can send you a replacement
@@mickeyoberabor Hmm that seems really odd I would contact the company where you bought it from and see if you can send it in for them to repair or send you a new one.

how much time can it run after shutdown.
Between 15 - 20 minutes depending on the load if you’ve got a monitor attached
