If you're going to power a pellet stove with this, make sure the stove doesn't use an induction motor for the exhaust fan, or that the UPS outputs an actual sine-wave and not a setp-sine waveform! Induction motors cannot run on step-sine waveform! Unfortunately those kind of stoves almost always use induction motors and this type of UPS does output step-sine waveform (I got he same). So if everything ran well with no problems, I would be very surprised. (I hope it did though!)

The older ones just cant handle the load im putting on them, so hopefully these will fit my needs. I like the pc screen info so you can look at it better. Im assuming there are Mac versions too ?
Interesting display, but there are more than just 2 battery outlets, it is the entire left row, the top two on left and the grey ones on the right use a power command feature so that when the pc, which should be getting its power from the master plug, is no longer drawing current above a programmed setting, the other grey plugs turn off. But the are 4 battery outlets and 4 surge only outlets.

I like the older uuints that cannot be hacked from internet or any-other source of input , info to you is also info to others when hacked ! i have never ran internet connection on any back up due to that very reason ! Older units also have a transformer and are better than the switching system used in newer units = smarter units are not always better or safer for long term use ! Just my findings , good video friend !
Thank you for explaining this to me. I think that I need to purchase one of these for my computer. In Houston, during Hurricane weather (i.e., summer), power goes off a lot. This would help. Also, I think that I could take some lights up to my Public Storage unit and use a BB-UPS to light it. YOu think that would work? Have you ever done something like that -- with low watt 9-W new LED bulbs?
after shutdown of pc and you off the ups, do you need to always plug it out of the wall socket? or jsut leave it plugged 24/7 (charging)? im confused some say plug it some say let it plugged

Great video, I was debating on whether to install PowerChute or not. I'm still not convinced but I'm mostly concerned as to why I have only 15-20 minutes left if the battery was to take over. I do have a few things plugged in and I just bought it about 10 hours ago. So is it not fully charged even though the indicator on screen says it is? I have the BX1300G.
If you’re using the monitor only for the laptop which has a screen, you can stretch your battery by only plugging the laptop into the battery circuit. Should about double your minutes.
I like the external battery approach. A UPS daisy chain should work in theory, since if you unplug the chain from AC, the first UPS in the chain will start providing AC power to the next in line, until it's battery fails. Then the next UPS in line kicks in until your down to the last UPS which your PC or whatever is plugged into, which will continue until its battery is finished. Talk about a Rube Goldberg though. :)
I thought so too ... before I tried it. It didn't work. Because as it seems UPSes cannot run off of step-sine waveform. And the problem is that almost all affordable UPSes do output step-sine waveform (Line-interactive and Offline types). The secondary UPSes detect this as "dirty power" and start drawing power from the battery even though power is applied by the other UPS. So as the mains power cuts off, all of the UPSes on the chain will switch to battery power. (I've tried that personally) In order for this to work, you have to either use really cheap UPSes that don't have the "dirty power" detection circuitry, or some expensive UPSes that do output an actual sine-wave waveform. Those do exist. They are called On-line UPSes. Almost all On-line UPSes do output true sine-wave (No, it's actually all of them, it's integral part of their functionality). The last UPS on the chain can be form the normal type that outputs step-sine (Line-interactive, or Offline, the later are of the cheap type)

1. Yes think of it as a power strip with surge protection. It also has a power button. If it's not plugged in it will run on battery until dead. 2. Simple answer: yes. He doesn't give justice the the program. There is a lot more you can do.
I just bought one, I live in NY, power is very reliable BUT every so often there's a slight brown out which really messes up my modem, printer, Wifi and streaming box. Frankly, I'm sick of rebooting everything, it takes about half hour or more by the time everything comes back on. Anything that keeps these things alive for 10 minutes is worth the price. Tired of my wife calling me at work and trying to walk her through all the re-boot process over the phone.

This UPS unit is an Sinewave UPS 850VA 510W PFC setup as back up power for a 650w PSU home office (PC tower power). My ridiculous Q; Could you help clarify the "Greenpower" technology passing power through a Transformer and express how to bypass the constant battery load demand on incoming utility power? Or is it just the inverter which demands a power hungry mode? Translated: Can a UPS be regulated to operate without demanding constant energy? My aim as it would be for anyone, is to maintain affordable energy costs yet have backup power on demand. Perhaps power up the unit in real time when weather conditions become unstable? Very informative instructions for beginners for APC. My question is I have NEXXTECH ULTIMATE 600 w 1000 VA uninterruptible power supply. On the back there is in the middle indicator light for wiring fault.. which is on. When I first turned it on it was beeping turning on and off but as I kept it plugged in it has now stopped. My display shows 100% battery capacity the output 60.0 Hz, output is 0.000 kw, low capacity has a little icon on the left but showing nothing and then in the middle of the screen it has an icon normal output 0% estimated runtime 100 minutes input 125V. Does this seem in good working order? I noticed your load capacity has a scale I can see that mine does have the scale for the amount but it is empty is this worth saving? And can I get the software for this too? I'm also unsure how you would replace the batteries? Been searching for a manual guide for the system as well Been unsuccessful! Hi. In the back of my UPS i can see IN and OUT sockets for internet (maybe for a cat5 wire) what is the usage of these? ( I have read that is for modem protection). For example, I plug in a power strip that is feeding a monitor, desktop computer, and a powered external hard drive, into the battery feed outlet. Would it still keep powering flowing to all three pieces of equipment? Obviously it would probably slash the battery time significantly but at least give me time to properly shut it all down? Thanks!
Just so you know you're supposed to have the sensitivity to 60 percent (or 3 lines) on the load capacity bar. That's what the manual recommends for PCs. The way you have it set up is technically wrong. It would be nice if you touch on the subject and while you're at it show how to properly set up the sensitivity levels. Good video anyway.
I bought a USB A male to male connector, connected one end to the PC and the other end to a USB A female to RJ-45 male adaptor and connected that end to the UPS... the PC doesn't recognise the UPS. Do I need to buy a straight RJ-45 male to USB A male adaptor like you've got your self or can I explore alternatives - simply because the cable you have is quite pricey. Thanks

Dennis Behm when it doesn't charge or doesn't last long. The batteries are like 20 bucks a piece, just look up your model on ebay and boom

For some reason, my battery is not passing power to the rear “Battery Backup” ports, even though the battery is installed properly and is displaying full on the front LCD panel

I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE. I've bought a 1400 APC UPS,
The sound beeps 4 times every 30 seconds. It runs on battery power even though its plugged in a socket till it goes of eventually.
Can you connect a power strip to the ups?
Hi can I leave my ups plugged in and on 24/7.
Or should I just leave it plugged in and turned off at the power button
