Anyone else obsessed with the sound of the grease knife against the metal tool parts (14:22)? I could listen to that for hours. IDK why I like that sound so much. 🤷♀️ Beautiful restore too BTW! 👍
I bought a few of these old black and decker tools at a thrift store. I knew right when I SAW (lol) them they would be coming home with me. this was back when black and decker still made quality tools.
Very well done. Thanks for NOT adding music. Those were good tools 1950-60's. Use the least amount of power wire brushing to keep surface profile rough not polished for coating bonding.
I just bought one of these for $10CAD. It works but it's filthy. Gonna go tear it down and clean it up now. I'll pass on the repainting, though. Thanks!
Awww, I was hoping you would polish the housing and clear coat it. Still, the silver paint looks nice, and is correct, but polished aluminum is magical.
I have a very old Black & Decker jigsaw I inherited which seems older than this one. It seems to be an attachment to a regular drill with the drill part having a special attachment where the chuck goes instead to drive the saw. Even the Black & Decker logo is in cursive script instead of the usual block lettering. This makes me want to get it out and have a go at restoring it. :)
I always waiting for your new video All your video that post on youtube is awesome I give you one like to you .Good job. It doesn't work anymore, Your restoration any kind machine. You always make it work. These Comments For You !!! You always make me happy. I watching your video to get rid of my stress. All the machine smell so good and wash with soap
Martian Manhunter there’s nothing wrong with recycled steel, it is the same steel and the plastic on the other hand is cheaper however for the external body it is fine because it is rigid enough and is also safer because a metal body can become live if there was a fault in the wiring
I got a new one of these it's some sort of high tech endurance jug-saw but it's loud af...fortunately it has a laser sight (out of focus) a light and 3 blades just in case
I only have one "burning" question, do you test the motor before putting everything back together? If it was me, with my luck, the motor fails to work after the reassembly is completed. 😭 Nicely done, they don't make it like that anymore. 😊
Really great, but I have one objection. If you plan on actually using this machine you need to remove the solder joint and crimp the wire properly. Solder joints are not safe because the vibrations will cause the solder to break and the wire will come lose. Since the machine is grounded it's not disastrous, but it's still pretty bad.
I have a B&D drill from that same era, and I'm still collecting parts to restore it. I need to buy a bearing puller to find out what bearings it needs.
hey does anybody know where I can get those carbon motor brushes for this jigsaw I have one as well but it needs new brushes if anybody knows where I can get them please reply or comment to my comment

WOW !!Very good restoration 👍👍👍 . I have the same model which I inherited from my father. Will use your video as guide to restore it.
He must have a wardrobe full of those denim shirts.
So do I!
Wow, that was extremely thorough! Thank you!! Now I'm going to have a go at mine - won't be repainting, though (but damn it looks good!)
Good video clip

Always love drill restoration vids!
I have this same model in slightly better condition as yours before the restore. Maybe I should make this my next restore.
Hi Gear Show 👋👋👋 your restoration work is magnificent 👍👍👍
Good work buddy
Thank you! Cheers!

Still, the silver paint looks nice, and is correct, but polished aluminum is magical.
Just when those tools were looking forward to retirement, you put em back in the field for another 20 years... Nice job...
Very resistant without any bearing.
Τέλεια η επισκευή της σέγας αξίζει τον κόπο.

Back in the day when they made decent tools

Good hit🇮🇳👍👍 Kuki
Ah, a tool from the Before Times, when gears were made from steel and not plastic...
Do they really make the gears from plastic now? I wouldn't be surprised if so, but that just seems ...dumb.
C. B. Alan break faster means more money so not stupid for them
@@flightworks6874 Planned obsolescence, huh?
True now they used recicled steel mixed with cheap materials including plastic.

Bien hecho 👍
Bello.saluti.
I have 2 just like that but mine are clean and in good working order
Excellent
Thanks!
Great video! What type of glue do you use to re-stick labels on tools?
YAYYY MAKE A NEW PART...
Wrong channel 😬
Awesome
I wonder how many people have started restoring tools from these videos ?
Gear show best of the best
What was the source for the new switch? Obsolete switches are the stake through the serviceable power tool's heart.
I inherited one of these from my dad.
جيد جدا
boualem algerie bonsoir monsieur gear show merci pour la video cest tres genial bon courage continuer
Ready for another 60 years of service.
I got a new one of these it's some sort of high tech endurance jug-saw but it's loud af...fortunately it has a laser sight (out of focus) a light and 3 blades just in case
so grease is for what exactly? less friction? or does it reduce the heat that is created? or both?`sweet restoration btw :)
Gears and sliding parts require lubrication.
🔥🔥👌🏻nice👌🏻🔥🔥
Next time use a heat gun or a hair dryer to remove the sticker :)
Очень свежо: сначала обмотку вычистить, а потом прозвонить - вдруг нерабочая...

Okay, thank you for the feedback.

I own that same one.
А задню и передню втулки не смазал , только механику и все ....
👍👍👍👍❤️
Слишком просто для вас
What adhesive did you use to reapply the BLACK & DECKER decal? Thanks!
I use 3M adhesive.
@@gear_show thanks I'll try it!
nice job. But if u take more time in anti rusting, it is better.
At 1:12 when you are opening there is not the thing which you put it into jig saw at 12:29. I don't know what it's called? In My jigsaw it is broken.
It's on the other half... I only know because I am doing the same restore ;)
Why do you grease screws?
Валы ротора не смазал. Дизлайк, за рукожопство.
👍👍😎☕🍩🔧🔨
What was the tool you used at 10:06?
2:55 forbidden vegemite
Надо сначало химией снимать ржавчину, а только потом полировать железной щеткой!
Love the channel but please no more music. The sounds of you working are far superior.
🇵🇱 👍 👏
Whats those tiny things used for that he takes out first? :)
Motor brushes
I used turpentine to clean mine.
Restored Black And Decker Power tools Must Be Painted Color Orange And Why Did You Painted A Black And Decker Jigsaw In A Silver Color?
What kind of multimeter is that?
It regular multimeter.
Zapomněls na olej.
hey does anybody know where I can get those carbon motor brushes for this jigsaw I have one as well but it needs new brushes if anybody knows where I can get them please reply or comment to my comment
You can contact: carbonbrush.com/blackdeckerbrush.htm with the Jigsaw ref
Don't show the finished product in the thumbnail
Okay! but why?
Because if you show the finished product in your thumbnail, people will know what it will look like when they see it.
😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺😺
Fast forwarding instead of jump cuts ruins every restoration video I've ever seen.

Salió mal el video amigo
You used the wrong paint on base of the jigsaw as I noticed it was coming off you should have used a inamul base paint not a gloss one ok.
Andrew George Enamel
inorganic zinc primer is the best choice. NOT enamel. What do you use?
How to find brushes?
РУКАЖОП....
Попов ты как всегда в точку))))
What is your first language and if you speak anymore
Black and decker was always cheaply made. No bearings? Funny this is made better than some of todays tools.
SAOP?????
