  • Jig Saw Restoration Video
    I found this jig saw from Japan recycle shop in my city.
    I spent 10$ for this tool. I see broken power cord. It must be dangerous If I test it without checking the power cord. ⚠️I want you to be very careful about second hand power tools. Especially aluminum body power tools, it can shock you. ⚠️
    B&D Black & Decker
    Model 7515-03 JIG SAW
    VOLTS 100 AC 50/60Hz AMPS 2.4
    MADE IN CANADA PRINTED in USA
    I hope you find something useful & enjoy this video!
    I am happy to receive your feedback, advice, suggestions to improve myself.
    !!! I apologize for the mistake if I have made in this restoration !!!
    **I still keep some parts, I want to save the world's environment**

    I bought a few of these old black and decker tools at a thrift store. I knew right when I SAW (lol) them they would be coming home with me. this was back when black and decker still made quality tools.

    Anyone else obsessed with the sound of the grease knife against the metal tool parts (14:22)? I could listen to that for hours. IDK why I like that sound so much. 🤷‍♀️
    Beautiful restore too BTW! 👍

    Very well done. Thanks for NOT adding music. Those were good tools 1950-60's. Use the least amount of power wire brushing to keep surface profile rough not polished for coating bonding.

    I have a very old Black & Decker jigsaw I inherited which seems older than this one. It seems to be an attachment to a regular drill with the drill part having a special attachment where the chuck goes instead to drive the saw. Even the Black & Decker logo is in cursive script instead of the usual block lettering. This makes me want to get it out and have a go at restoring it. :)

    • @flightworks6874
      @flightworks6874 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Martian Manhunter there’s nothing wrong with recycled steel, it is the same steel and the plastic on the other hand is cheaper however for the external body it is fine because it is rigid enough and is also safer because a metal body can become live if there was a fault in the wiring

  • @AndreasHagelberg
    @AndreasHagelberg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really great, but I have one objection. If you plan on actually using this machine you need to remove the solder joint and crimp the wire properly. Solder joints are not safe because the vibrations will cause the solder to break and the wire will come lose. Since the machine is grounded it's not disastrous, but it's still pretty bad.

    I only have one "burning" question, do you test the motor before putting everything back together?
    If it was me, with my luck, the motor fails to work after the reassembly is completed. 😭
    Nicely done, they don't make it like that anymore. 😊
