LOL Oasis got attacked on stage in my city, well more accurately Noel, guy actually ran right past Liam to go for Noel. Funny stuff. Fuckin love Toronto.
im salford born and bred , oasis are the worse thing manc ever spewed out,, there are plenty of serious manc bands that can actually play and rock,, that eat em,, the buzzcocks,, slaughter and the dogs,, the chameleons , the drones,, magazine,, the fall,,the parody and crispy ambulance,,
Ian Curtis never sang better than when he sat down in John Peel’s studio to record these songs. It’s a shame they hadn’t written Ceremony, In A Lonely Place, or much of Closer before these sessions took place.
its hard to find the original version of joy divisions recording, now that its become so famous and the professionals see in it the identity a monitary value worth that of the icon, thankyou for the post and the warning
I can hear a strong Stooges influence in some Joy Division tracks like this one. It's kinda like some of the tracks on Fun House. If Iggy had written this song it would've fit on that album perfectly. Of course Joy Division had their own style and unique sound, you don't have to freak out so much when people compare bands.
Musically, you're not far off. Lyrically Ian Curtis wipes the floor with Iggy Pop, Iggy's not bad, but Ian's lyrics are extremely well constructed. But most people read a text once, or just hear it, thinking, oh well, whatever. Curtis ethical cries in such fine lyrics are pure genius.
Confusion in her eyes that says it all. She's lost control. And she's clinging to the nearest passer by, She's lost control. And she gave away the secrets of her past, And said I've lost control again, And of a voice that told her when and where to act, She said I've lost control again. And she turned around and took me by the hand And said I've lost control again. And how I'll never know just why or understand She said I've lost control again. And she screamed out kicking on her side And said I've lost control again. And seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die. She said I've lost control. She's lost control again. She's lost control. She's lost control again. She's lost control. Well I had to phone her friend to state my case, And say she's lost control again. And she showed up all the errors and mistakes, And said I've lost control again. But she expressed herself in many different ways, Until she lost control again. And walked upon the edge of no escape, And laughed I've lost control. She's lost control again. She's lost control. She's lost control again. She's lost control. I could live a little better with the myths and the lies, When the darkness broke in, I just broke down and cried. I could live a little in a wider line, When the change is gone, when the urge is gone, To lose control. When here we come.
@damienmetalwind well done - there's a lot of other music out there designed to catch your attention, so good for you managing to find the special quality of this bunch. (You might like to try Burning Spear, the first two Roxy Music albums and maybe Miles Davis' Kind of Blue)
@MATTIE2020 Actually, two of Ian Curtis biggest personal influences were Iggy Pop and Lou Reed.. Vocals don't sound anything like either, but some of the guitars, bass and drums do..
It's 5 years on so you might have found it or forgotten, but no it's not Joy Division. If we're thinking of the same one, it's Touch Sensitive by fellow Mancunians The Fall
The JD Peel Sessions have some of the best of Ian's recordings. His voice is superb on these tracks.
Joy Division, the best thing to come out of Manchester, and yes, that includes Oasis, R.I.P. Ian.
28lyonc piss all over those blue c*****
Steve Brown them cunts couldn’t shine Ian’s shoes...

@@steve261brown Ian Curtis was a Man City fan, but I agree both them and New Order are leagues above Oasis. As were the Roses, Smiths and Mondays.
Best version of this song!
I think so too x x
Calif York Agreed.
Definitely it’s way heavier and “real”!
Live version is the best

The dissonant high bass is fantastic.
What an awesome group! Forever Joy Division!
Peel Sessions have my favorite versions, transmission sounds absolutely amazing, guitar riffs are raw
Very happy that these sessions were saved and mixed well. Sounds incredible.
legendary song
One of the greatest bands of all time, top 5 for me
The definitive version
Simply awesome. Brilliant. Outstanding. SUPREME
It's sounds so much different without Hannett's production.
Petepateet Agree with that, raw. Ian’s voice 😍
DARBY CRASH!!
@@steve261brown with hannett's production it sounds very ghostly, live they sound much more intense. So you get two bands in one
What a great song.
i absolutely adore it...adore
The HOLY voice of IAN CURTIS
Excercise one. Brilliant
the played a more "punk" and energetic sound while playing live
ctrlsneak And Ian's anger when he was saying the last "control". Best ever
Does my head in when a curiosity like that gets to me.

Ian Curtis listened to the "Idiot" as he hanged himself. I believe it was still turning when his wife came home and found his body.
This is powerful.
Thanks for putting this up - I just ordered the CD from Amazon because of your posting these....
Try listening to the Les Bains Douches set on TH-cam - absolutely brilliant as well! Best band ever imo, RIP Ian.

Don't forget Bowie they were all obsessed with Bowie Berlin era;)

Where did this last verse come from?
Probably a long version of She’s Lost Control because Ik there’s a long version of She’s Lost Control
@@tatjananikolic2726 the last stanza is (barely) audible in the single version, which you can hear on Substance
je ♥ !
Peel apporte son sens de la montée de tension.
Jim Morrison was one of his influences too. Ian's voice is pretty similar to Morrison's
Ian Curtid the best
JHON HUAMAN he is good
But I wouldn't say better then Jim
Morrison had a stellar voice and his poetry was above anything that ever existed.
Too good to comment.
génial
Ian

Thanks to the contributor. Sound quality is top draw.
Ian was diagnosed with epilepsy a week before they recorded this
So this is like January 79?
@@tomo366 yeah
THIS s the definitive version.It'sperfect.Would have liked an extra verse like the 12 " though.
@sugarkaneandchloe Still haven't heard it. I like this version cos it reminds me of Dirk Wears White Sox.

C'est mon âme qui chante avec Ian Curtis..
@MrAlekay123 Come back when you're old enough to grasp the meaning of songs likes that, to revalue them.
Dammit in the UK there's this ad on the telly and I think it's a car ad. Grinding gravelly guitar chords. Is it Joy Division?
It's 5 years on so you might have found it or forgotten, but no it's not Joy Division. If we're thinking of the same one, it's Touch Sensitive by fellow Mancunians The Fall
@philipmarselos my thoughts exactly
@MrDildoBagginsIII You tell em.
Anybody staring at the pic and looked like it was getting bigger?
i just find it amazing how you're on this site and you don't know how to reply to people...WHEN you comment on videos.
yet again.
Best but too close to home, as they say.
@28lyonc eww... oasis... hahaha.
Because you don't like Martin Hannett's production, maybe?
Tuomas Lahtinen Did over do it for me, this proves it no?
dafuq?
we buy any car. com
morrison had a mediocre voice? Not to sure about that one bud
Now that I don't agree with. He may have liked the Doors but Morrison had a very mediocre voice
