Custis saying Deeney's comments "were not that dissimilar to what Erik ten Haag" said is madness. There is an ocean between what each man said about their player.

Comparing what Deeney did to what EtH said about an overpaid £70m Sancho is pretty silly. EtH was asked a question about why Sancho wasn't in the squad against Arsenal, his response was simply that he didn't train as well as the others, shock horror considering his well known history of behaving like a manchild. Deeney on the other hand went in on his League 2 players, slating them way beyond what managers normally do.

If he needs an experienced coach to tell him it’s not a great idea to throw your players under the bus and set the whole place on fire, then I would suggest a career in management isn’t for him. Certain sycophants in the media seem to lap him up; perhaps that’s where his future lies.

The managers will keep getting blamed because when they are sacked they take the payment when they agree not to talk about the issues and there is your problem, managers agree to be silenced after being sacked, also before signing the contract be tough with the owners and get it all in the contract, what your there for, your power at the club, etc, if the board brake the deal they go public, walk out and sue them, its the only way managers are going to back power.

Personally wasn’t in favour of his appointment at FGR however it was clear from his first game as manager that there was a shift from the players(which probably points to the players underperforming for the last 3 managers rather than a TD effect)…each game thereafter seemed to bring improvements whilst foolish errors costing results ( red cards, missed penalty, cheap penalty given away etc) but I suspect TD had spoken to the players prior to the Harrogate match because quite frankly the performance was the poorest for some months. FD had a nightmare and honestly looked like he was trying to play that badly.A majority reverting to being unwilling, unable and unimpressive. These are alleged professionals, they are paid handsomely for their 2/3 training sessions and 1/2 matches per week. Some have behaved like wage thieves and if they’re prepared to do that in public then they deserve to be called out in public. If you turn up to work late continually you disrespect your colleagues, the owner, the manager and the fans so clearly you don’t care that much. There are a number of these players that have played under 5 managers at FGR without lifting performance levels for more than 5/6 games. They are the issue, poor recruitment is the issue, lack of direction from the top is an issue. DV has bankrolled the club but inefficiency leading to yet another sacking.Well there are about 20 of the playing staff to let go too!!! Cheers Troy and best of luck going forward.

Bournemouth fans love Deeney, despite our recent rivalry, the man is class, should have got called up for England, he was robbed of that.

It takes a big man to admit he was wrong. The apologies often come across as false, but he did seem genuine. The way he spoke would not have been allowed 30 years ago; I think he thought as it was not a "top" team, he could get away with saying things that you would not usually be allowed to.

Who thought that a man that was sent to prison for kicking a student in the head multiple times while he was on the floor, would possibly make a good man manager? He was fortunate to be blessed with a level of skill that provided him with an astonishing income as a footballer but in any other form of employment he would have been on the bottom rung. He is as thick as mince but surely he realises the best thing to do is totally retire.

In the end Deaney can be as contrite as he wants to be. He broke the most basic rule in football management. If you can't get that simple exercise right then he won't get much else right.

Whats wrong with a Forest Green tracksuit ffs!?
He looked fine for popping down the shop tbf but in a role where you have to manage a group of men and earn respect - looking like youve just come out a music video aint gonna cut it is it...🤷
