Custis saying Deeney's comments "were not that dissimilar to what Erik ten Haag" said is madness. There is an ocean between what each man said about their player.
How on Earth are they comparing his rant to ETH answering a question ffs 😂 ETH got asked why Sancho was unavailable and he said he hasn't trained well enough. Troy Deeney lost his rag and started insulting players
The guy is clearly unfit to be a leader... not only is it wrong morally and emotionally what he did, but in who in their right mind would think a player or teams performance would improve after doing something like that. The guy is not only disrespectful he's incompetent as a leader
Any decade of football, it was ridiculous from Deeney to do what he did. You don’t need any experience in football or management to know once you throw people under the bus publicly, be will not do their all for you
Possibly. Fergie got rid of Keane for the same reason. He called out Fletcher and another player.
I don't think that's true. But let's assume it is, the 'victim' should be trying to spin it into a positive. Not just turn around and sulk. Footballers are so coddled nowadays it's like you say anything bad about them they start crying and whining ie. Jadon Sancho.
@@hiddensword9387 Fergie was pretty untouchable by then tho
@@hiddensword9387Fergie threw Keane out because he'd gotten too big for his boots.
you don't go complaining about your staff to the press, you deal with it internally that is just basic knolwdge than most people agree with. No successful manager does what deeney did@@khylelewis
I'm sorry but it's embarrassingly ignorant to suggest that Ten Hags calling out of Sancho was anything at all similar to how Troy Denney completely destroyed his player publicly.
Troy Deeney & Dale Vince are two bells end of day.
Comparing what Deeney did to what EtH said about an overpaid £70m Sancho is pretty silly. EtH was asked a question about why Sancho wasn't in the squad against Arsenal, his response was simply that he didn't train as well as the others, shock horror considering his well known history of behaving like a manchild. Deeney on the other hand went in on his League 2 players, slating them way beyond what managers normally do.
shocking comparison
It’s pretty similar when you think about it. They both called out there players for not being good enough yet ETH was applauded and Troy was reprimanded.
@@lukebrown8580 nonsense the situations aren’t even comparable. One stated that he’s player wasn’t training well enough. Whilst the other claimed that he hadn’t been good for weeks and publicly bashed him about the level that he’s playing at (league two) and also reminded him that he was the reason he’s former club wasn’t promoted. Absolute no comparison at all unless your a sancho fan boy.
@@lukebrown8580 that's not what ETH did. It was effort from Sancho, Deeney said his players weren't good enough
Crazy how you can actually equate the two situations. They are miles apart. @@lukebrown8580
Its a learning process, but as a player he should know , even great managers fall when they critize their whole team
💯. Live and learn.
For someone who has spent the last few years shouting about the importance of his own mental health, you’d think Deeney would show a little insight, empathy and professionalism with his handling of Fankaty Dabo and his other players. Dabo enjoyed 3 successful seasons with Coventry because he was working under a decent human being and manager.
Dabbo had some great games for
Us and was rated by a lot of fans, he’s an upper league 1 player
"Having played at such a high level, did you find it difficult dropping down". He's not Maradona lol.
But he has played at pretty much
The highest level Of Football
@@lukebrown8580 But this argument was used for people like Glenn Hoddle, who could do magic with the ball, and couldn't understand why Swindon players couldn't do the same. That's not Deeney.
@@MarcoSpeaksNadsat ye true get what your saying in that sense, but when referring to the highest level of the game, Troy has been there. Is he a magic player no certainly not
@@MarcoSpeaksNadsat He wasn't even Heskey.
@lukebrown8580 true mate but someone has to make up the bottom of the top league, every season
I'm not surprised he got sacked.
What troy said about dabo crossed the line. If any employer publicly humiliated an employee the way troy did, they would have a nailed on claim against the club. I think k that's why they sacked him 6:50
He’s one of the biggest bellends around, full of hypocrisy and he’s been found out in less time than it takes him to struggle to form a basic sentence 😂
He doesn’t struggle to form a sentence at all 😂 even Simon Jordan said he’s a lot smarter than what you lot think.
@@SteveDavid-pw4lh the irony being Simon Jordan isn't as smart as he thinks either
Dale Vince is an absolute drip 💧, & and a snide
and yet he'll forever be more successful in life than you commenting here on youtube, just think about that for a minute if you're capable of forming a thought yourself.
@@SteveDavid-pw4lhwell If a failed carphone warehouse owner who sent his club info bankruptcy said so....😅
😭😭😭 IT'S THEIR FAULT... NOT MINE 😭😭😭
Can’t think of many worse men to be a manager, must’ve been a nightmare to play under even if it was just 6 games
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Too much ego and bravado
I've been around Deeney and I can say he's actually a cool guy, smarter than you actually think, can banter and speaks passionately about football, don't let what you see on TV make you think you know someone, I'm sure the likelihood of you liking him if you met him in person would be quite high. I get how he may come off on the screen or even on the pitch but off it he's a nice fella
@@LatinClan2010sorry that doesn’t wash with me he acts like a cocky egotistic arrogant big mouth and he’s proven it with the way in which he’s acted with unpleasant harsh comments. It’s ridiculous and I wouldn’t want to get to know someone like that why the hell would anyone.
@kevwilliams1 I didn't say I agreed with what he said, I thought it was ridiculously and unacceptable. I would be raging if my manager ever spoke about me like that but I'm saying that him personally if you meet him he doesn't come across the way you would think from what you have read and seen on TV.
The guy is a knacker
He dug a player out that played championship football like troy did! Missing that penalty (the most expensive kick in football) can kill a player, so to bring it up as leverage it's bullying.
"Bullying". Lol. No fan of Deeney and I think he made a fool of himself here, but it is absolutely embarrassing the amount of grown men on the internet incessantly CRYING about "bullies" and "bullying". Who hurt you?
Nice to see Troy's friends softballing him here!
He said the one lad passed the ball off his shin pads 😂
What a sham of an ‘interview’. Three guys who profess they’ve know each other for years talk for 17 minutes about how one of them has been hard done by.
He really is a horrible person.
Troy “big waffler” Deeney
Hopefully Deeney can learn from his Forest Green experience if he gets given another chance at management.
I mean De Zerbi has had a couple of clubs where he didn't do very well, and look at him now with Brighton.
In a few years time we hopefully might be speaking about Deeney in the same way.
Comparing Deeney to ETH is down right inaccurate. Look at the quotes, Deeney essentially insulted the playing squad directly in his interviews. ETH questioned his training. Also consider that ETH has been in the role for longer, sent Sancho away for a few months and clearly felt that speaking in public was the last resort. Rubbish comparison.
Troy “you want to learn… speak before you talk!
Also Troy “Roy looks old”
Just say “age is but a number”
Six games for any manager is ridiculous
Troy has learnt the hard way, it was silly what he said. He would still have been in job only for it.
Think he's possibly closed the door on his management career already. Not sure too many or any club are going to be queuing up for his services. Lack of control, emotional hothead, isn't a trait CEO's of clubs are keen on, public outbursts are reputationally damaging. Think he'll get more media work tbh.
Perhaps, but if he were to put his ego aside and go spend the next decade putting in his dues, being an assistant, learning from experienced managers then he may be given more chances if he is a good coach. I don’t understand why so many former players are given this fast track route to management
You could argue that his managerial career only started as a box ticking exercise in the first place
you was right to say it publicly, its just the press that tell you it wasnt ! we all have eyes, for me all you have done is enhance your reputation, as a fan im sick of the bull sh*t spewed out of most pc managers and players. but now im intersted in what you say!
You can't cheat the process! You start off coaching the kids learning from other senior coaches, then you move into a 1st team setup learning from the manager before you even think about head coach roles. He simply wasn't ready and hadn't transitioned into a coach he was still operating as a player/captain
What’s this nonsense about Deeney not being able to impart his message on League Two players because of “the level he played at….”
He played for Watford and Birmingham FFS, he’s not a Balon D’Or winner! 🤣
If he needs an experienced coach to tell him it’s not a great idea to throw your players under the bus and set the whole place on fire, then I would suggest a career in management isn’t for him. Certain sycophants in the media seem to lap him up; perhaps that’s where his future lies.
Yeah, I am no fan of Deeney but I will accept he maximised his talent while at Watford and that is to be respected. They're talking like he was Maradona.
He is a massive gobshite so I think Talksport would suit him. He will always have strong opinions on the most banal of footballing issues.
@@bigmofarah9084 100% 👍🏻 I would have thought that getting average players to give their absolute all and become a bit less average should be his forte. The way that some of his pals in the media are banging on, you’d think it was Thierry Henry trying to coach them!
The latest claptrap is that he should be given credit for being big enough to admit he was wrong and say sorry….I don’t think he left himself anywhere else to go with that one!
Harvey price's hair line gets worse by the second😂
Awesome comment
The managers will keep getting blamed because when they are sacked they take the payment when they agree not to talk about the issues and there is your problem, managers agree to be silenced after being sacked, also before signing the contract be tough with the owners and get it all in the contract, what your there for, your power at the club, etc, if the board brake the deal they go public, walk out and sue them, its the only way managers are going to back power.
Learning process this fool ant getting another job 😂😂😂
Has Troy done his coaching badges?, or is it a case of well known ex footballer getting a manger’s job they are no where near qualified for eg Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard
You have to have your coaching badges to get a job as a manager but yeah, it's very much a case of him getting the job because of his experience as a footballer rather than his experience as a coach - exactly like Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard.
Maybe real Madrid may come calling 😂
Tbh, he can talk like this about players as much as he wants, just not jn his first job. He has to get some respect in the business before he goes after his players like. His passion will allow him to get another job, and hopefully, he proves himself. He started how all these premier leqgue managers should have started rather than accepting big jobs we all know they are not ready for ie. Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, etc.
He must be hurting because his hairline is all over the place.
Imaging after all the years of claiming abuse by "racists" you get sacked for actually publicly abusing someone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This reminds me of Gareth’s replacement calling out Brent when he keeps popping back in The Office:
No one wants a meeting with you; no one wants a drink with you; you don’t even work here anymore…
Personally wasn’t in favour of his appointment at FGR however it was clear from his first game as manager that there was a shift from the players(which probably points to the players underperforming for the last 3 managers rather than a TD effect)…each game thereafter seemed to bring improvements whilst foolish errors costing results ( red cards, missed penalty, cheap penalty given away etc) but I suspect TD had spoken to the players prior to the Harrogate match because quite frankly the performance was the poorest for some months. FD had a nightmare and honestly looked like he was trying to play that badly.A majority reverting to being unwilling, unable and unimpressive. These are alleged professionals, they are paid handsomely for their 2/3 training sessions and 1/2 matches per week. Some have behaved like wage thieves and if they’re prepared to do that in public then they deserve to be called out in public. If you turn up to work late continually you disrespect your colleagues, the owner, the manager and the fans so clearly you don’t care that much. There are a number of these players that have played under 5 managers at FGR without lifting performance levels for more than 5/6 games. They are the issue, poor recruitment is the issue, lack of direction from the top is an issue. DV has bankrolled the club but inefficiency leading to yet another sacking.Well there are about 20 of the playing staff to let go too!!! Cheers Troy and best of luck going forward.
Good start to your career as a manager ......
Shortest management career in history I think not as though another team will want him around he’s shown he’s a right gimp and can’t man manage players
Why dots Henry have to be so deep?
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in life 😂
And who amongst us truly expected nuance, clarity and sound judgement from Troy Deeney?
Guilty,as charged though I should have realised why he is in so demand in the media.
You need some level of insight and articulacy to be in that environment unless you laugh a great deal like Micah...:)
Perception is reality - Steve Young, Super Bowl winning quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers
Digging out the players publicly shows he’s actually more national league level
It’s me, Deen, I’m the problem it’s Deen
its starting to get the point where football managers are becoming extremely overpaid babysitters. everywhere you go nowadays its just constant stories of players being late, players not training, players not doing the very basics of professionalism.. they are hardly even professionals anymore, just coddled children almost from birth. just like teachers are having to do the parenting for kids these days so too are football coaches
Where is his race card?
that bogey is pissing me off lol
But he was one of the poorest players on the pitch most weeks by all accounts in a bottom 6 team when playing for small heath alliance, so his comments about the level he can play at now 9 months on from his last appearance in the championship don't make alot of sense, but that's troy i suppose, he never has made alot of sense. AVFC
Public relation vs Self Personalities.
My Dad managed an amature club
won two Amature league cups in the 60's
I trained with them at Sheff Wednesday training facility
I turned out as a winger 5 or 6 times when called in
My Dad would call us ALL out in front of the group
he was brutal
he made us better
we would die for the group
lateness again an issue ??
its about respectingthe group
Troy should stay off social media
Good luck with the project Troy
If you DISCIPLINE SOMEONE, you do it one on one in private - NOT IN THE PUBLIC SPACE. As a manager he should have SET THE RULES on arrival at the club - what is expected, what is not tolerated ( coming in late) SET THE RULES- communicate at the start of the job
Thick as mince!
Troy Deeney reacts to his own sacking 😂
He should've known better!!!
Learning process 😂😂😂😂 one of the thickest people Ive ever seen.
Ive never played the game but could tell you not to do what he did. He's played for 15 years or whatever it is - and is still a registered player now, but it's news to him he shouldn't have done it 😂😂
Give it 6 months and he'll have a podcast with Joey Barton
We learn more from our failures than we do from our successes. Good luck to him.
In failure, you're forced to find out what part did not work. But in success, you can believe everything you did was great, when in fact some parts may not have worked at all.
@@Isleofskye I think you sum that up very well. Thank you!
@@johnmurray8428 My pleasure,John:)
Come play 4 MILLWALL deeney👀
Troy Deeney is a first class prat.
I blame the owner not Troy who only spoke his mind. He should have been given time.
This guy scrubs up well 😂😂😂😂
Troy saying people learn tactics from Sky? LOL.
Bournemouth fans love Deeney, despite our recent rivalry, the man is class, should have got called up for England, he was robbed of that.
LOL
Called up for what? They already have someone making the tea!!
Haven’t watched the full clip. Does Deeney speak about his time in prison ?
Yeah what he said was dumb he never should’ve said those things , it was a great opportunity Deeney messed it up
Well, just keep to the speed limit, middle lane, and look in your mirrors occasionally… not difficult Deen
Troy's aged 15yrs after 6 games and a sacking. He ain't cut out to be a manager.
It takes a big man to admit he was wrong. The apologies often come across as false, but he did seem genuine. The way he spoke would not have been allowed 30 years ago; I think he thought as it was not a "top" team, he could get away with saying things that you would not usually be allowed to.
Who thought that a man that was sent to prison for kicking a student in the head multiple times while he was on the floor, would possibly make a good man manager? He was fortunate to be blessed with a level of skill that provided him with an astonishing income as a footballer but in any other form of employment he would have been on the bottom rung. He is as thick as mince but surely he realises the best thing to do is totally retire.
Deeney is a bad boy
Student deserved it to be fair, Do your research.
@@onlyfacts9969Where can I find this research?
Thinks he’s big time this muppet and went in shouting and screaming with the roy Keane attitude! The players wasn’t having him from day one
Troy LOL Room temp IQ.
tenhag called out sancho so he should be sacked then
hes always had acchip on shoulder, will never progress unless you face it
We all make mistakes..
Massive 🛎
I've never rated Deeney, he's just a thug, however this is just another example of the woke football we're being fed 😡
If big dunc couldnt galvanise the team how is an even less experienced unpopuar ex footballer get them together and winning. Not going to happen. But give the guy a break!
No pity for him
No club is going to touch him with a barge pole after what he said which is unfortunate because he will go back to tv punditry and talk shite there
Probably the most deeney thing he did to get sacked 😅
He is acting like he didnt just fail to win in any of his six games in charge.
Knew he wouldnt last
Soon finds another job with warnock on sky tmrw
Need characters like Troy in football
I saw Troy at the swindon town game. I think he’s a decent man, top footballer and was trying to get a poor team up the table that had an awful owner. He will be a success long term.
Lol .. always have been a clown 🤡
this is all just PR wash, trying to mitigate the PR damage
..If someone is 50 minutes late for training everyone trains an extra 50..it sharp gets sorted
Will never get a managers job again..and rightly so...
Lower league version of Brian Clough time managing Leeds.
Troy loves an interview.
In the end Deaney can be as contrite as he wants to be. He broke the most basic rule in football management. If you can't get that simple exercise right then he won't get much else right.
Forrest Green finding out the hard way that when you go woke, you become a joke.
Has a certain card been played yet?
Its all about money now.... Tony cuenca
Maybe if he learnt to control his mouth he would still have a job
Poor sod looks miserable
I might be a bit old school- i accept that... but when i saw what Troy was wearing a few weeks ago- i laughed and said to my mate he wouldnt last long....
Whats wrong with a Forest Green tracksuit ffs!?
He looked fine for popping down the shop tbf but in a role where you have to manage a group of men and earn respect - looking like youve just come out a music video aint gonna cut it is it...🤷
