Who in their right mind thought Deeney would be a good manager? He can barely string a sentence together, let alone have the emotional and psychological intelligence to manage and lead a group
😂😂😂😂
@GamingRobioto Box ticker and he has a criminal record too same as Joey Barton despite the 'mature nice guy' reformed attitude they both have.
@GamingRobioto Forest green rovers wanted publicity by having a bme manager, hence why he had that woman manager in the summer. It's pure publicity.
Yep, they're in the attention/woke clout business.@@daveseville7394
@@daveseville7394 Kellie Maloney Is being lined up as the a shock replacement and favourite as their next manager.
Unforgivable conduct by Deeney, he won’t last long in management. It is the most demotivating comments I’ve ever heard from a so called manager.
Cry
Why?
Why, because he's calling shite players out?
Yep. Really poor. The fact he was almost rubbing salt into the wound about Dabo's penalty miss was particularly poor. He was a decent player for Cov too. This just sounds like a manager out of his depth and unable to cope.
@@chrisbroadhurst3039 Good managers treat people with respect and more often than not they will get the best out of that player. For the record, Deeney has apologised because he knew he was fundamentally wrong, so I don’t see your point.
Honestly Martin brings a great sensibility of opinion to show, great to listen to. These three are probably my favourite mix on TalkSport at the minute.
He's not bad but Danny Murphy also gives great balance
@@dannyboy9573 No.
@@dannyboy9573😂😂

Wouldn't have Deeney anywhere near my club
He’s an egomaniac
@@mattgee1118looool Cristiano Ronaldo with ten hag?
U dont know anything about him to say that
@@mattgee1118 those 3 you mentioned aren't nothing on deeney,
United Stars could use some of this
Troy Deeney has always had a gob a hundred times bigger than his abilities. Blame the club for going anywhere near him.
Agreed. Chairman is a joke too
martin needs to be on every day. Simon and Martin clearly have a lot of respect for each other but are both capable of expressing mature points of view that differ.
Mixing up the guests is good stop rimming Martin
@@spinofthewheel5345 how crude
Martin O’Neill is far more intelligent than Simon Jordan and never afraid to hold his ground. He’s an excellent guest.
Martin Oneil is absolute class in my eyes, top manager in the day and a great player. Always makes lots of sense with a very dry sense of humour 😂👍
Shocking man management from Deeney.
To be fair players have too much power
@@SamCovington-fh7ekAt forest Green rivers??? Lol
Isn't it a thing everywhere in football
@@SamCovington-fh7ek you're right players do have too much power, but his comments were so stupid and emotional there's zero chance that it could work from here on. He'll never manage higher than the current level if he can't control his emotions and man manage properly. Man manage doesn't mean overly praise players, it just means don't dig each of them out in public every week
you get the power from having the players respect you, not moaning to the press about them@@SamCovington-fh7ek
Dabo gave his all at my club Coventry City, was with us in the depths of L1 & even played a part in promotion the season he joined. Speak for most of our fan base when I say Sky Blues still (despite the penalty at Wembley) love Dabo and he's always welcome at the Ricoh!
Or the CBS , but agree 100 % he was a brilliant player for us and he got told the day before the final that he was getting released by Coventry , yet still gave he’s all for us and had the balls to step up and take a penalty, would shake he’s hand any day , hopefully deeney will be sacked soon
Definitely mate - always limited at a certain level but gave his absolute all, and that's all that matters really.
I love Fankaty Dabo... 🧡🧡🎩🎩
Cov fan too
Love him 🩵🤍🩵🤍
PUSB
As a cov fan I’ve seen Dabo and he was a brilliant player with an amazing touch. He’s good enough to be in the current cov side
How did he end up dropping 3 down so far so quick? He was at us when he was younger (swindon) and was alright. Probably one or our better players in a relegation season.
One good season in league one, I don't agree with Deeneys public comments, but his summary was true, the guy had an ozil attitude, only interested when the team were dominating. Never turned up when we were losing.
absolutely no way is he good enough anymore for this current side
No way Cov upgraded in the summer with Van Ewijk and Sakamoto.
Deeney is a 🤡 and always has been
with the exception of when he scored last minute winners infront of Villa fans at the Holte End and at Vicarage Road.
Tell him when you see him then 🤣🤣🤣
Facts, waste of space.
@@fiddler8395 He does come across as a right knob though 😂
And still more successful then you’ll ever be 😂
O’Neil was that good a manager he didn’t even have to open his mouth just that stare and even the top players hes managed.
Would admit if they got that stare they knew run a mile.
When a manager walks in top dressing room and it goes silent that speaks volumes of the respect he had as a manager 💯💚👍🍀
That's just him trying to focus those milk bottles he's wearing.
They’ve let an egomaniac narcissist be manager.
To forest green as well…
Id never have imagined troy and dale vince working together for some reason 🤣🤣
Everton fan here Deeney’s a great person always up for bantering with any fans, yes he’s strong with his views but people these days find honesty as offensive, the lad is talented and passionate
Hes a bum and a hypocrite and doesn’t have what it takes
And nobody cares if you’re an Everton fan why do people always announce who they support, what’s that got to do with anything
I dont know what to think of it but one thing is for certain, the more influence a player has over a manager when he is producing an inconsistent performance after another it will build up to player power, I might be right or wrong but nevertheless a public dressing down is not fully a bad thing it should serve as a good thing to show the fans that it's not always the manager who doesn't get things right or performs well, the players are culpable too.
Deeney is showing his inexperience
Disagree tbh.... Unless you do the same for EVERY player that has a bad game.... The media game is Super sensitive.... Mountains can be made of molehills very easily....
Agree ,only should we hear about how bad a player is DOES IT HELP THE CLUB OR THE PLAYER .neither im afraid.
Just drop the player and address it behind closed doors. Calling him out in public is just Deeney trying to deflect blame away from himself.
nonsense he's calling the player out cause he's not won single match and deflecting from himself by ranting about the players.
when troy deeney talks it sounds like he's exhaling a splif
Glad it wasnt just me that thought that!
Troy won't last long as a manager. If you haven't learnt how to manage people in your 15 year playing career it's a sad indictment on his personality and capability to manage
Deeney being a helmut here no doubt about it
Not surprised really are we? He was Thick player and now thick manager. 😂
Always loved this guy "only every single day" EXACTLY
Top player he played for walsall birmingham and watford yeh top notch
Premier league is the top notch, certainly better than any levels you've reached Senor TH-cam
Whatever the industry, that's not how you manage. Love Martin O'Neill's insights there. Should be on the show more often.
Martin O’Neil really is a figure missed in the modern game, him - the Fergusons ect truly left a void
Top Player? The same Troy Deeney who got prison time for beating students up? Same Troy Deeney who's highest achievement is being relegated multiple times and scoring 10 goals in the prem? Who would of thought he would be a good manager, Dale Vince smoking half the green forest at FGR. Deserve relegation for that appointment alone.
Lol that cv will get him a job on talksport 😂. Just wait 😂
“Another top player going into management, Troy Deeney” .. did Jim White really call Troy Deeney a top player? Wow
I mean, being a premier league footballer puts you in the top 1% of the top 1% of football players in the world.
@@Graziak5i mean, this is the same league Ali Día bluffed his way into, was he the top 1% of the 1%?

Even reading this guys coloumn is embarrassing. Who would of even thought about employing him
All you have to do is look at his track record and you can see what kind of person he is
Didn’t Troy have words with the now Fulham manager marco silva when they were both at Watford .
If a manager goes in on his own players keep it in dressing room, when it comes to sell them to bring better in. Get more cash
Poor. Won’t be a long standing manager
Would think he was anything above mediocre himself they way he's hammering his own players.
Well done Troy, pioneering work once again
I actually think that's refreshing, the truth. He will do better than people think.
I’m a bluenose and still think he’s a nob
Forest Green must of been desperate to appoint Deeney in the 1st place what did there expect, but breath of fresh air what Troy said some of the players now a days are robbing the fans with lack luster performances.
Yes, how can they going from appointing a great manager like Rob Edwards a few years ago to now appointing Deeney? 😂
Very lacklustre, indeed..
Did Jim really just introduce Troy Deeney as a "top player"?
he was captain of a prem team so yeah
@@sponish0 Not a good one though
he was defo a decent prem striker@@terrenusvitae
How is a player meant to gain confidence and move forward if he's not getting the support from his manager, and also bringing up his penalty situation in public as well. This is not what managers do this is so unprofessional
Roadman manager 😂😂😂😂....that was just terrible from Deany, however it's exactly what I'd expect.
Firstly it’s ‘Deeney’ secondly he is far from a road man. He’s more of an old fashioned English manager.
he's a roadman, old fasioned english managers didn't moan to press about their players. @@mrsastre9404
People need to realise that being loud and bossy doesnt make a good manager
too many ex players think being a good manager just means criticise your players because they aren't the level you're used to being around
Madness! He just ended his coaching career before he started.
RULE #1 of management.
Never criticise your players in public.
This is the problem with former players who used to play at a high level managing lower league teams. They can't understand why they aren't that good.
not management material, way off
Martin O’Neill gave me best memories as a Celtic fan 🍀🇵🇸❤️
If he had anything about him he would resign, but he hasn't.
Wants sacking and paying doesn't he
You think Deeney a multimillionaire needs a pay out from forest green!! Don’t be ridiculous. Great bloke very honest and you’re lucky to have him at your club.
@@richl7910 yeah
Least Troy saying it how it was
Humiliating your players publicly is a sure way of them losing any respect for you. How do you expect them to give you 100 percent when you shame them in public
Modern players don’t give 100% regardless except city & Liverpool players.
@@Fumblingthroughlifeonline that is definitely true but also you can't talk about players like that like it or not you have too pander too them
Martin could offer a lot to a well run team in the championship or league 1!
Martin O'neil is one of the few guests on here who can match Simon for providing grown up, measured and considered views that actully offer a unique perspective, without resorting to the usual cliches and tired old tropes that most ex players resort to (murphy, keown etc) because they have no original thoughts.

Exactly why he shouldn't be a Manager
Give the man a break he's learning on the job. It just goes to show that these passionate players that wear their heart on their sleeves do not develop into into good managers. You can't manage your players like you used to captain your colleagues on the pitch
Everybody complains when a manager defends an underperforming player rather than calling him out but when a manager does criticise an underperforming player they say the manager is out of order.
You know what some players do need to be named and shamed.
@1:38 I wish they showed Simon’s reaction 😂😂
Look at the smirk of Simon Jordan. He knows Troy messed up so bad and is not cut out to be a football manager.
Hag did the "throwing the players under the bus" technique. It has kept him in his job.
Those players threw themselves under the bus , nowhere near good enough for a great club like Manchester United
he simply said a player hasn't been training well enough when asked why a player wasn;t in the team, Nowhere near this
Savage! I love Dabo, he put Luton in the EPL!
Top player? Troy Deeney? 🤣🤣
by pro standards yes he was captain of a prem team
Deeney the Alcoholic will never last already started his downward spiral
All those comments having a go at troy, i caj he assured those fajs week in week out rip into players themselves but are suddenly offended when the manager calls players out
Should have been behind closed doors that talk. But he learning the management role. Its a steep learning call.
Top player your having a laugh
Man management, with Troy Deeney😂.
That's embarrassing for him to do that, massive mistake you cant talk lik that to anyone especially when deeney was sht himself
i mean he captained a prem team i don't like troy but he was playing at the very highest level.
Although its not a great pep talk you gotta be honest thats the funniest post match interview I’ve ever heard 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 only been watching football 2 years now though
Was not a great career it was a good career. Word great is over used in football, he going to get humbled real quick in the management game. He needs to go learn under a good coach
Pressure has got to him already.
Bang out of order !!! Never criticise players in public !!!!!
What’s said in the changing room , stays in the changing room
If Deeney didn’t make it as a footballer he’d be a bin man
so what's your point? He did though
No he didn't he's sacked muppet
Martin O’Neil is a class act
Great managers do their talking in the dressing room and considering theses players tell you that they learn from there managers when they were players them selfs obviously didn’t listen and learn as much as they say
Deeney just stuck a massive target on his back...
Speaking like this can affect future jobs..
The contrast between the reaction between Troy Deeney calling out Dabo publically, and Ten Hag calling out Sancho publically very interesting. Seems like its one set of rules for some people and another set for others.
Not really. Neither are good managers. Martin o Neill was a good manager, his view is the correct one, you don't publicly blame your players.
Deeney did it in an infinitely more inflammatory way, that's why
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes this is purely about race isn't it.
Probably not wearing a Celine top to manage a league 2 team would help
Martin O'Neill is worth his weight in gold, brilliant football mind and gives great insight. A great counter balance to that big headed fool Simon Jordan.
The Midlands Mourinho
Don't call Deeney a top player he was average at best
It goes both ways, praise players when they do well, and hammer your players in the dressing room if they need/warrant it, but protect your players outside of that room! AND KEEP EVERYTHING THAT IS SAID IN THE DRESSING ROOM, IN THAT ROOM!! Unless it’s praise, you keep it where it needs to be, and that’s personal!
Love troy say it as it is
If folk are calling out Troy Deeney for calling out players In public straight after a game then where is the backlash for Ten Hag calling out Sancho.
Ten Haigh won things
And deeney was a world beater😂
i mean he was captain of a prem team. Not like he was a pub player
Deeneys comments should have been kept in house
WELL DONE Troy honesty plyers let you and the fans down
He’s speaking the truth!!!
I’m sorry,,did Jim refer to Troy as a former top player?
I think he knows he isn't going to be a Manager.... There would be zero trust now on the players side..... He's unpredictable and could throw you under the bus at any moment...
Didnt that bloke walk out of Villa few days before the start of the Season?.. It took Villa a few years to recover from that?..😮
No shame in losing to Harrogate Town.We are the form team in the league at the moment.
I like Denny’s determination
Fair play to Troy I say call as it is
Simon Jordan must have good eyesight to see out of those glasses.
Did he say former top player ,Troy Deeney....wtf 😂😂😂
Step one , learn and learn quick, step two show leadership not anger , step three , only do on to others what you can accept doing to you .
basically by coming out to the public like this you're only doing it to try and convince the public it's not your fault. he's talking to the forest green owners and not the player. if he's done this behind closed door then he doesn't need to come out in public. mud sticks at the end of the day and we all know troy deeney wouldn't take that when he was a player.
Calling out a young player like that is shocking. Terrible management.
He’s 28.
Another top player 😂😂
Deeneys clearly saying that to put a fire in that players belly and get the best out of him
It’s the managers job to improve the player. If the player/s continues not to improve then the manager is failing at his job by not improving him or replacing him. Simple really.
What if a player publically criticises their manager for being hopeless, is that acceptable?
If my manager did that to me would I be more motivated, hell no , I’d hate to be in that place with him in charge
Amazing kick up the backside by Deeney
