another brilliant one Sean. This one is SPECIAL and resonates with me. Over this weekend I am going to sit down and set up my 3 ads just as described here. Hope to get some positive results by the end of the year. Thanks again Sean and just love your no BS selfless help. Stay blessed.
IVAN FINN > One of the BEST persons I ever met in this industry. I know him since 4 years, and he is still the same, generous and cool and eager to know and improve just like in the beginning....even now that he is centuries ahead...
This is an old video but it still seems relevant. I'm watching all the interviews now; really good to get this variety of KDP perspectives from those who have had a variety of types of success
I want to thank you so much for creating such informative content about Amazon KDP! Your recent video conference with the Amazon ads professional was incredibly insightful. Please keep up the fantastic work, as I find it incredibly useful and very relevant. Thanks a lot
Thank you. I am a beginner and need the Amazon class to understand it all, then I want to come back and listen to this again. You have preseente excellent information. Thanks.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Just finished listening to the whole interview. I needed this as i was starting to get discouraged about the slow traction my book sales have been with the ads and the crazy run of ad spend
Thanks Seon. You have done it again by bringing your guest to throw more light on some grey areas of advertising on Amazon KDP. You inspire others by this kind gesture.
watched from beginning to end, great video Ivan & Sean! To clear one thing up, you mention twice in the video to do 1-keyword campaigns when 1) a keyword is performing well and 2) when trying to rank for a specific keyword (approach not suitable for smaller budget). Should we use exact match in both of those cases?
If you run ads on, say, the keyword "keto diet", can you still get organic clicks on that same keyword? I don't understand how it would work in that case? How can it be organic when you at the same time run ads on it? Please explain.
Some fascinating insights and strategies thank you. On the launch a new book strategy with the 5 ad campaigns, would you use a Broad or Exact match on each KW?
Thank you the both of ya'll. Great timing. I am now going into a very competitive niche. The 2 ads are completely different compare to this competitive ad so its a learning quick thing I was not expecting. I was use to not checking for 2 weeks because amazon is slow but on day 2 I made a sell and it just went like crazy I wasn't sure how to understand the information. So this help a lot to speed of the learning. Thank you. Still have some learning to do but on the right track. Yea I have a budget of $100 because my book is going to go down after November but I just wanted to try it out from what I normally do and boy am I hocked on the wild ride Yea i did find it weird how other people try to show ads.. like they were talking to everyone but no one.. and I couldn't pay attention and learn so that was the reason to just jump in a competitive niche so i could learn. No better teaching by doing but this for sure gave great guidance on where to start or go back
I watched this twice and took extensive notes. I have one question: Each time we optimize, which can be two to three times a week, are we selecting a different 30-day date range? For example, if we select a date range of 3/6 - 4/6 today and optimize three days later, would we select 3/9 - 4/9? Thanks!
Great session, lot's of good info... But ... a good deal of the advice hinged around the idea of reviews. Ie., Do this when you get this many reviews, don't do this until X reviews and so forth. The BIG QUESTION for me is how to get reviews for new books in the first place! Specifically for these low content books like coloring books, or word search books etc. A good roadmap to the right solution for this would be an enormous help to we faithful viewers. BP
1:10:00 during this section on ideal budget, is this $500 a month per book that you're trying to advertise? How does the budget scale when it comes to adding new books?
I tried creating that GP campaign, adding all the ASINS of the particular book I want to promote. It ran away with my daily budget of $20, I got 7k plus impression. My CTR was 0.12% while my CPC was $2.82 and I have no sales on the ad. What do you think I am doing wrong?
In my experience, low bids don’t work. You don’t get impressions. I also notice that if one keyword bid is considerably higher than the rest, the ad will only show impressions for that keyword and almost nothing for the others. Do you experience that? Also, loved your childhood memory!
Thank you so much for the video, Can I start making 1000$ to 2000$ without ads on kdp, I am uploading high quality low content books, I am getting a sell every day I have 30 books uploaded
If you have a 150 page, black and white book (trim size 5x8 inch) at a price of $14.99 you'll have a royalty of $6.19 and a break even ACOS of 41.3%. So a 33% ACOS performance would be great! At that ACOS you should be spending $1 Million per day if possible!
I would like clarification on something. Why can you not just piggyback keywords off best sellers? If you make a better product the organic sales will come from the keywords.
I have a question before I even watch. I have been frequently seeing video ads for books on amazon. Clearly they are using a seller central account to sell the KDP books. Can we all do this as it hugely opens up the advertising options? It would also double the number of countries you can run ads in.
I tried but couldn't open a vendor account. These guys got lucky as they probably did FBA in the past and had an account there which they now run video ads through
Ooh that was PAINFUL,The guy with the Personality Bypass (could he either of them really. So I’ll be specific - black shirt) managed to make it sound VERY complicated and VERY expensive. I was looking for HELP, but I’ve decided not to bother
Would it not be best to check every few days when just getting started and if your not getting clicks to raise bid price a little every few days until you find the best bid price?
@@zombiemillionaire6397 If you're not getting any impressions or low impressions then every 2 days by 5-10 cents. If you're getting clicks and no sales then it's relevance of the keywords or the book itself that needs improving.
Ivan says not to do campaings until you have a certain number of reviews. Is there a strategy to get those reviews? So for example, I launched a book last week. I have about 8 sales so far, but no reviews. Kind of hard to get 50 reviews like Ivan said if I don't first sell over 50 books. But if I should not market until I get 50 reviews, which means I need more than 50 sales, how can I get those first reviews to market more effectively?

Excellent call thank you so much.
I thought 33% ACOS was considered too high? I was always under the impression for profit, it should be around 20%?

awesome video, thank you gents.
What's the bigger picture. How many author pen names are you running to equip how many accounts?
Do you keep each campaign running when you switch from one to another so you would have 3-4 campaigns running on each book?
"one to another" what? Usually more than 3-4 campaigns for each ASIN but you can get away with only 3-4 if you're just starting out.
For the gold panning method is it 1 book per campaign or several?
Thanks!
Thanks a lot!
Great content, Sean!
