    How do you deflate your tyres?

    • @dustyfarmer

      A "lady" I once had a brief relationship with used a screwdriver to deflate all my tyres one night, including the spare. Not recommended on many levels.

    Thanks Legend. It's just as I thought... I'll be sticking with my 20 year old ARB analog gauge. Batteries haven't run out in that one yet and it's just as good as the modern one.

    Great video, your presenting style is nice and relaxing. We just got the ARB LINX system, with the air compressor control module to automatically inflate/deflate to a preset pressure. Will be interesting to see how it compares to these times.

    • @LockyourHubs4WDing
      @LockyourHubs4WDing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our testing indictes that it's hard to beat a deflator that removes the schrader valve. On the other hand, the flow rates that are generated by high output 12v compressors including the ARB twin, isn't enough to warrant removal of the valve core for inflation.

    Thanks for another great video.
    One difference between the analogue and digital deflators is that the digital one is MUCH easier to read accurately. The analogue unit makes it very hard to be accurate with pressures.

    • @LockyourHubs4WDing
      @LockyourHubs4WDing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can be a challenge to read without squinting! And it's like chalk and cheese in low light. I just wish the light stayed on a little longer.

      I have the analog deflator and the digital inflater. I have found they are both as accurate to read and compare well with each other. They have 1psi difference between the analogue and digit.

  • @dustyfarmer

    You can air down faster with the inflator by pushing down on the fill lever so air comes out the nitto fitting.

      Thanks, I'll have to give it a go.

    • @IWillNotBeLabelled
      @IWillNotBeLabelled 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's what I have, and I use the inflator lever to deflate. When compared to others using tools that remove the core the time is very close. Other advantages of using the inflator over those that remove the core is that you can't get it wrong and end up without a core, and you are not undoing a seal that was working. I know many have never had an issue but I have seen some people struggle getting the core back in.

    • @dustyfarmer
      @dustyfarmer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LockyourHubs4WDing It will come out the open nitto fitting faster than the in-place tyre Shraeder valve will flow, I'll bet it's the fastest air down of the lot that way, plus no chance of ripping the seal or cross threading the Shraeder valve & save time removing & replacing the valve.

    I’m not sure if I missed something there but it’s a little unfair to include the inflator in that test as it’s only really designed to deflate by small amounts....1 or 2 psi if you’ve over inflated your tyres. Good video though 👍

    • @LockyourHubs4WDing
      @LockyourHubs4WDing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Primary for comparison, as most will have the inflator already, though might be contemplating a dedicated deflator.

    The battery isn't really an issue. I have been using my inflator for 4 or 5 years and it only ran out of batteries just recently (factory set). Put in some lithium primary cells and they won't self discharge and will probably last longer then your car.
